NR2003 is rendering the game in a way that hides much of the lowres aspects (pre-render smoothing), AC cannot (largly) recreate this. This is why most tracks of this type are reworked with modern TSO, textures, trees etc. Again.. (refer to previous meme)

Damn I had a feeling it was some kind of voodoo Papyrus did. Amazing how good NR2003 still looks today even without all the modern graphical tweaks one can do (which makes it look like a 2010s sim).

There are still some horizontal lines in the sky from the tops of the city skyline textures, I think. It'd be good if these were clipped out.
And doesn't the bottom picture show the proper colour that all the tarmac should be, matching the dark strip with the dotted white lines? IDK, the road still seems pretty bright to me overall. Not sure what others think?

Too bad it did work for me and I just tried with other cars. I'm running using hotlap mode, not sure if this makes any difference, but it's working for me. Maybe track version?

I´ve tried from the pits and from starting line. Doesn´t work. It only captures the first 300m or so. And starting in hot lap mode I get this. Could you upload your track?

I almost didn't post this video, but I suppose even if it incurs some level of wrath from the SD team, I'm willing to fall on that sword. I was contacted by a friend of my channel who happens to be among the most talented modders in the community in my opinion, and he is at the end of his rope with SD. He's asked for his work to be removed, and they ignore him. He and so many other talented people deserve better based on how much they've given the AC community over many years, so I think it's best that I do what I can.

Random Question about modding, how does licensing work when it comes to paid mods? I assumed for a while that it was like if developers were creating the content themselves and would have to pay auto manufactures a license fee for the cars. Is that true or...?

Payware mods can't feature any real brands. The cars can look identical to a real model, but as long as they don't feature any real brands or logos they don't have to pay fees to anyone. If anything, they can release textures with real brands for free (it's what the DRM people did).

I find it to be the slowest of all the cars, I didn't measure the fuel but it is by far the slowest car of them all. I just ran a test of 50 laps on Spa and the NSX's were the slowest of this group.

Eh, that's really not true. What VRC and RSS do is technically illegal, but those who own the copyrights to the cars they've recreated either don't know, or don't care. At any point any of the brands could come after them and win a copyright case with ease. The "not real brands = legal" myth is, well, just a myth.

Like most civil law, it's the responsibility of the offended to initiate proceedings. Illegal acts don't just happen to result in prosecution, they have to be started by someone. In these cases, the rights holders just haven't done it (either because they don't know, don't care, or have decided that the modding community is too 'small potatoes' to bother with litigation). That doesn't mean it's legal.

Well...starting in hot lap mode still gets me a wall inside the car lol. Starting in the pits, the camtool works just like you showed before

Edit: And starting from the start line a giant skinny pit crew guy appears. I don´t remember this ahahah

Or go to 'you know where' and you can currently get everything for free.... some which is actually ok, for free.

The most high profile in a sim context was Reiza with AMS, i think it was codemasters and F1 who went after them for simply having similar skins to the real thing......
Big deal at the time, Reiza were about to jack it all in at one point.

But it does, partly that is (at least on my system).
Strangely enough it starts only after completing a lap and it only shows the Delta time.

They did strikes against someone on here's YT channel for reviewing a mod that they claimed was theirs...

I just purchased a hill climb track and 'donated' his fee of 6 euro's and i've had nothing yet....
Got a track from superstage and got download link straight after payment....

There's a very interesting Youtube video with an 2 hour interview (only in german) with one of the developers of the DRM Revival mod. He explains, that their mod is only legal because they use of course no real brands, logos or skins and only models of historic cars without copyrights of the manufacturers because they were build/modified by e.g. Schnitzer, Zakspeed, Kremer, Carmar and were not protected with a copyright. And he says, that in german law you can protect a car model only for 8 years. They also asked a lawyer, what they have to do, to get the mod legal. Nevertheless there was one attempt to stop their mod, but that didn't work. This part starts at 1:07:30.

Thanks, I'm aware of that. But lately I'm used to be able to use a dedicated button to switch the mode in the Racelogic displays. In this case it's either this OR that, no way (that I know of) to switch between them.
If it can be only one thing, I even prefer the delta (perf) timing.
