I'm guessing you weren't here when Easy would ignore or flat out insult people asking him to remove their mods / remove his name from their mods when he had simply added a (often worse) VAO patch or a few skins from Race Department (without giving credit to their author)?
There are several examples of this.
Or how he would upload other people's mods, without their permission, to his own Sharemods links to make a bit of money for himself?
How about that he repeatedly got a rival (and much longer-running) website taken down for copyright abuse when he himself is doing exactly the same thing?
He disrespects modders and has one goal in mind: Grow his own website to make money from other people's work.
You can go back a couple of hundred pages and see it all for yourself (before he got banned for these practices).
Improvements he doesn't ask the permission for then put his name on the mod as if he was an author and reuploads it on his own website...
It's not evil, it's just being an all around... Can't say the word but you get my idea.
indeed I wasn't ...
Sorry, I always want to see the good in everything and everyone , and I hate conflict...
I write this as an attempt to understand why such a - in my eyes - good service, gets such negativity thrown at it.)
The part about him having a rival website shut down, if true, I wouldn't know how to rationalize that though.
I could understand the negativity towards him for such a thing (although I could spin it and say I spend too much time as it is already downloading new mods each day, so having to check yet another website would increase my workload
Regarding the earnings:
lets say 10.000 downloads on Sharemods makes him an avg of 20 dollars.
Would he even clear the costs for keeping up his website?
Do I need to ask permission from the owner of a mod , in order to improve on it?
(for instance to create extra skins, swap a better sound or shift animation in , or fix some misalligned digital instrument texts and make the instrument texts more visible by changing the color or brightness)
If so , I did not know that... and I'm also being a dick
Seriously is everybody asking permission from the modders to change stuff in AC to their liking?
By releasing it unencrypted they implicitly give that permission, no?
Regarding not crediting:
He does keep the original authors in there it seems (maybe changed his ways I don't know how it was before).
As recent example he uploaded the reworked version of the F1 I posted here a few days ago,
and he did leave the original authors and credits...
( so I think he's still on this forum, under a different username then perhaps)...
He added LODs since the mod had only LOD A... which even if badly done is better then having none at all, right?
And I forgot to repack the data folder into data.acd, after adding TC and he fixed that.
