i have 7-zip installed, i can only "add to archive" i cannot unzip it the option isn't there. thanks for the reply

No idea what you have done, I downloaded the file and it works fine.
FYI, you can make sure the file is correct before starting the download. When you click the link at the 'save to' window opens, change the file type in the drop down at the bottom of the window to .RAR and remove the .txt from the filename directly above.

Long shot, but I don't suppose you know if the mirror rendering bug in VR is fixed in the preview you are running?

thank you very much for that, very kind of you indeed. when i click on that .txt file i dont have any options it just starts downloading in my browser and once it has finished i can only delete it or "show in folder". again thanks for taking the time to re upload it. its the only mod like it that i can find

It's not just a VR thing, it's a fundamental (and pretty basic) modding mistake.
Add this to the config.

MATERIALS = int_glass ; internal glass material name
CAST_SHADOWS = 0

Sadly, a lot of new mods are riddled with basic errors like this. Not just visual errors either, but basic physics issues too.
They either aren't tested properly in the rush to get a release out (for imaginary kudos from internet strangers, or patreon dollars), or the modders drive in chase cam using a joypad and never enter the cockpit out on the track.
Or for some unfathomable reason, just made as photo mules with driving a secondary consideration.
And it's a thousand times worse of course when stupidity, ignorance or lack of attention to detail is locked behind encryption.

Is there anywhere else to get the skin other than RD? I cant get anything off their server, any downloads sit part finished and don't continue, saying a year or more to finish at 0kb/s

i just tried to download it and it was instant. so it cant be race department there normally not that busy at this time of night (uk time)

if your still having issues i will upload it to mega but you should be good its only 10mb

I cant get any files off there, they all stop. Not sure whats going on. I can get files like Rainmakers off Medifire ok, but RD just doesnt play the game. Ive even cleared cache, I only have problems from RD

Check the existing config in the extension folder to make sure nothing is already overridden I guess?
Also, maybe don't add anything that wasn't in the original unpacked data. Just change the part about ABS or whatever it was you were wanting to edit.

This is the first I've heard of this feature, which apparently was added in ~2021! It would be a godsend for the ever-growing list of data-encrypted cars I flush down the toilet because of some easily fixable physics issue. But sadly it looks like it only works on certain ini files. For instance, I can use it to successfully edit digital_instruments.ini, but not suspensions.ini or power.lut (for me, the latter files are simply ignored).

I suppose that makes sense, because I would simply copy the entire data folder to data_override and circumvent the data encryption completely. And then think of the tears of all those hardworking patreon enthusiasts, I mean car modders, watching their pride and joy ruthlessly edited by people who actually know and care how a car works!

Replay Cams for Pascani Motorpark (o1 layout)

Howdy to one and all... It's been a while since last posting some worthwhile addons for this enriched simulation game. So here's a few laps showcasing some additional replay cams for a track from 'doublezero', recently posted on RD.



The car mod in the video is the 'Lotus 78 JPS Mk. III' from Legion, with a personalised artwork livery. The car is well suited for this particular track.

On the subject of that, try the RSS formula supreme (those formula nippon cars they made). That is a match made in heaven with all the sweeping corners on track.

ac.setSunSpecularMultiplier(value)

But most of the time, specular's problems are in fact ambient / sunlight problems...

A workaround to make real mirrors render properly in VR is to uncheck this 'High Quality' box in CM settings - Assetto Corsa/Video

I also puzzled for a long time, the solution is in the ext_config, there is an entry for

ApplyTilingFix=1

Delete the whole entry and save, then you can use any driver, a csp generated shader won't let the 3D model/mesh go.

Seems to be a common bug as I've seen this on a few forums.
The idea is to create further countryside that extends beyond the track limits, but it seems not to have been perfected as of yet. I imagine that it will be fixed in future updates.

Do you use triple screens?
