That I can agree on lol

Of the 1500 hours logged on steam, approx 50% of it is me testing mods I made, not racing. It became like a second job (without the income, I ain't no Patreon modder).
Welcome to my world. 3200hours spent on AC, almost 2800 of them spent on track configs and replay cams. Second job for without any income too except few moanings (thank god only from a number of people that can be counted on one hand fingers) but this is another story...

Honestly if AC gets ruined by too much modding, the best way to get around that I think is to limit the car count and keep content you know works well, and just create a bunch of championships with them and run those.

It's what I've been doing recently.
I've spent too much time downloading mods and skins that I've never tested to ensure their quality. Now I find myself with an Assetto that weighs almost 2TB. About the same as the number of cars and tracks, namely 1,000+1,000.I'd like to clear out some space, but I don't know where to start. I tried deleting a few hundred skins from a few cars, which took me several hours. Since I like creating championships, I try to keep the skin packs by year when they're clearly identified, but my god, it takes so long!!!And which tracks should I keep when there are several from different modders? Same questions for a car.Except for RSS, VRC, T78, there are plenty of others that deserve to stay on my hard drive.Actually, Assetto is like a box of chocolates; you never know which one to choose. So, how did you do it? please, thank you

yeah same problem here......dont know why people name their skins year_series_number_team
would be sooooo much easier :D so all the skins would be sorted nicely in CM

Same here and with VR its even becomes more complex. That’s why I download something interesting I do a direct after installing the testrun, not good or so complex to get it working, it’s directly in the garbage bin. I’m not going to spend lot’s of fruitless effort to get something working.
But this can be even worser as right now I did put AC on a pause and went back to Flight sims.

At the start of the year i had 10,000 modded cars. Cause i'm a stupid hoarder. Started testing cars around various tracks ended up with an massive 6,103 lines long google spreadsheet of all the cars i tested with laptime, Quality, opinion etc. Sadly accidentally pressed delete on it when clearing out my spreadsheet's so lost it all but i'm now down to 3,800 cars instead. I do need to go over skins though as i'm suspecting a good chunk of my space being wasted is on skins that i never use.

@monyx From what I've read, the fix/workaround for this is to go to CM > Settings > CSP > DXGI and UNCHECK the box that says "Verify if HDR is available".

Your work is fantastic! Really thank you so much because having the opportunity to be able to embellish your favorite tracks is something wonderful.
Will it be possible in the future to implement some photographers who shoot flashes for lovers of old 90s rally? :)

So, how did you do it? please, thank you
You need a bigger drive, I have 4TB for the game and 2 TB just to back up all the mods (just in case).
Then, you just need to be organized in CM, which is the key to our survival with that tsunami of mods.
Create nice grid combo, so you do not need to search for content when you want to race.
Limiting or deleting ontent is too time consuming, not fun and too dangerous too loose content you will search for in 2 month.
Looking at all the other SIM, past, present and future, AC is the one I will keep, so for the cost of an extra SIM I will hardly play, I prefer to get a 4tb drive.

How hard is it to place those object for a non modder?
I am thinking of replacing the side tracks building on that track: https://g2motorsportspark.com/assetto-corsa-track-g2/

It´s easy to use and quite intuitive. I would start adding objects on Nordschleife at Brünnchen section now but you need alot of spare time I guess. Good thing is, people can share their work amongst other users who own the app as well. Many thanks @leBluem !

Its stupid easy...
Fire up the game, start the app, select and drop the objects, save the ini, create kn5 with kn5join, add kn5 to track_models.ini, enjoy.
Altenative is to append the output ini to existing models.ini

Working colliders is tricky but not impossible to do with 3dsimed+ksEditor after an initial kn5 is created.

Thanks! Lets see, it all about finding the right photographer model.

Glad to see the excitement of the app and the extra models pack. It took quite sometime to collect all the individual models and to get them working properly. Big shouts to @leBluem for the app and working with him to debug and implement the features (esp the grid cubes and lights). More to come in the future!

cheers!

Happy Friday! Has anyone had any issues running Legion's Chveron B16s (Mazda, BMW or Cosworth) as AI cars in races. When I load them into the game they sit in the pits with very wobbly wheels/suspensions and then crash immediately when they leave the pits.

Taking advantage of the latest exchanges about our love and ability to keep everything regarding Assetto mods, I'm taking this opportunity to share with you my championship creations. there is 134 championships.
I ended up creating some myself because I couldn't find enough.First of all, you should know that I'm not an automotive expert or a super meticulous person, so these championships may seem fanciful to purists.
Nevertheless, with free and paid mods, I tried to build my fields on the same profile, namely:Races of 35 to 45 minutes minimum with at least 24 cars. The thumbnail image is the skin you're driving.AI between 92 and 96, aggressiveness 30 on average.Optimal track and weather via Pure.
I created these championships to enjoy my mods and because the Assetto Corsa lobbies annoyed me.Playing solo is my only joy. There's something for everyone. I've categorized it: endurance, GT, series, single-seater, classic, touring, and NASCAR.
Some are botched, others unfinished, and some are fanciful. but for others, most of them anyway :) I've focused on finding the right skins to create a faithful grid, especially for single-seaters.
There are also some that aren't mineand also the famous modern day of a certain era lol , which I took from Overtake I thank them by the way .

Unfortunately for you, I don't have the courage to upload a text file to include the correct download links,
so remember to save your "champs" folder to avoid ending up with error messages everywhere. You'll also often notice a safety car in the list because I use the "Full Course Yellow" app.
Remember to delete it if you don't have it.

In any case, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the modders and creators who allow me to indulge my passion for simracing.
your job is very appreciate

Finally, please feel free to advise me on my future championships if there are any experts among you. What could I improve on? Review.Thank you.

Its me doing too much modding that ruined it for me, not other peoples stuff. 1st world problem's and in the context of this thread on a gaming forum only. Clearly there are worse issues in life!

But yes, i learnt to mod stuff into AC and it was down hill from there!
over 4000 hours in AC now, and like any addict i search for the next hit and it gets harder and harder.

I understand very well what you say, I have always made mods for other types of games and the feeling was that, you spent more time modifying, experimenting, than playing and having fun, you did it perhaps more for the community than for yourself, now that I have rediscovered Assetto Corsa after years that I had abandoned it since its release, unaware of the progress it had made, I abandoned everything else and in the little free time I spend it trying mods, modifying, optimizing for my tastes, then I discovered this wonderful forum that is helping me to always learn new things.

I understand that it is not easy but you must never lose sight of the main thing, which is to play and have fun, which seems trivial said like that, but for those who make mods or are maniacs of perfection, it is not..

Happy Saturday to all 🙌

I just get 'cant have 0 cars in race ini' and a crash. What am i doing wrong? I'm just putting the new kn and the ini into the folder?
Will be a lot of fun if i can get it working, adding object's is easy bit.
