Not really, we are talking about unpacking game files and reverse engineering Polyphony proprietary file format, not the game executable which is what you're talking about.The PS3 had really weird processing and architecture that made it a nightmare to develop for compared to PC or the Xbox 360. More recent Sony consoles have been based on more typical PC architecture though. That might have something to do with it.
EDIT : Theres actually a tool to unpack gran Turismo 5 data files the same one used for GT7.
But no one did a model extractor like in gt7
