Aaaand this is why I don't bother racing in AC - which defeats the very purpose of a... Racing game.

It's a hotlap simulator at best. You have people bringing 2000K+ triangles car with no LODs, rain that works whenever it feels like, tracks with **** AI, big studios releasing the same frigging car...

Pinnacle of modding right here. All those GT7 model porting modders are the worst
The worst thing about AC is that there is nothing else even close to being worth investing my time in. I literally use it for messing about with mods and just fannying about taking pictures of said mods.
Its the best for that, just letting your imagination go wild and doing new stuff, stuff that's not been done or you'd wait a lifetime for.

Its not a popular opinion, but anyone who using it for rallying or even F1 or stuff like that is crazy, not even sure how you can when there are actual games that do it so much better and are made for it.
Like whenever i load up iRacing and do an AI race on ovals let alone against people, i wonder why anyone would bother trying to race ovals in AC..

Which is absolutely true. I do not disagree with @ninezeroniner, what he describe is not wrong, it can happen.
Maybe it’s time for him to take a little break, and come back in a while to rediscover how amazing AC is.
Some here might be changing too many things too often and ends up being in a constant whirlpool.
I have the same CSP review since a year, AC is fairly stable for me, no issue with AI or anything else.
I still have the same (old) SOL, looks good to me when comparing to other title.
Because Ilya and Peter, keep pumping new “improved” stuff on their Patreon, does not mean we need to beta test on a regular basis.
Yes AC, is the best 2025 title available, nothing else come close, don’t fix what ain’t broken and all will be fine.
I see your point as I've been with CSP028p1 for so many months. I don't remember if it has been a year but close.
All my first demented ramblings about performance were already on a old CSP version, but they still apply.

I'm actually preparing some fictional GT3 championships that use lots of cars that get barely used, it's so cool that we have a 2018 Ford GT so why do I have to use only to emulate real seasons? Some cars, some tracks with recent AI updates = instant fun right?.
I'm not even talking about cars released yesterday.

grid.webp

(obviously tightly BOPed by me)
And some of these mods pit at the 4rth or 5th lap, with or without the Nuzzi Pit App that's supposed to put order to chaos, tested on various CSP versions.
It's a total of 5 cars on a 15 cars grid.

Of course I got other mods. But fuel and AI set-ups are ancient AC problems that pop up whenever you want to step out 30 minutes races.
There wouldn't be a Nuzzi Pit App if AC's AI strategies worked or if the CSP maker gave a damn about them.
I can bring my car to the local track for 1 hour and more, but I can't make 1 hour races on AC without the AI disappearing on me only to go pitting and then fighting for the lastest positions.

That's just embarassing in 2025.

I'm sorry but I feel that your AC experience is somewhat limited if severely time restrained. I'm not talking about mind-bending possibilities, it's just having the cars racing hard & pure for 1 hour.
I'm not hotlapping F1's on the Nordschleife, not my thing. ;)

Same, AC is my lab - I see a car from another game I wanna drive in AC ? I import it, drive around for a bit and delete it. Rallying in AC is a complete dud compared to RBR so I steer clear from that stuff as well. And even NASCAR '15 in its broken state is a much better experience than AC for oval racing lol

Hi all,

Talking about rain: am I alone to have water inside the cockpit of Kunos Lamborghini Miura 400V when raining ?

The wipers work well but under the area of the windscreen that they don't reach, there is water on the speedometer and other glass surfaces of the cockpit in first person view
Answering to myself, in case of someone would have the same issue:

I solved it using an ext_config.ini with:

[MESH_ADJUSTMENT_...]
MESHES = MIURA_DASHBOARD_GLASS_MESH
IS_ACTIVE = 1
IS_TRANSPARENT = 0

Hi everyone!

Since Overtake.GG now not only has ads on the site itself but also shows those annoying “mobile game style” ads when downloading a mod, I decided to create a small extension.

Here’s what it does: you can keep browsing OTGG without an adblocker (so they can still make money from ads), but when you want to download a mod, instead of clicking the regular DOWNLOAD button, you just use the extension’s button.

For now, it’s only available for Chrome, since that’s the browser I use. Its aviable for Firefox too, but at the moment only as a temporary extension. I will update it when I manage to get the Mozilla signature

You can find the source code of the extension here, along with the README (with more info) and the release version of the extension:

👉 https://github.com/DeLaFuente1999/OTGG_Download_Ad_Bypass

It might not be perfect, since even though I’m a programmer (junior), this is the first extension I’ve built.

The extension may ask for some permissions, that’s normal and there’s no malware or anything shady inside (it requests access to history and to show notifications — you can check everything in the source code). If you run into any problems or complaints, feel free to DM me or open an issue on GitHub. Honestly, if just one person tries it out, I’ll already be happy.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the head's driver is out of the cockpit (the shifting animation does not match with driver as well) and the lights looks like this, they leak into the car:
Thats strange, i will investigate what may be the problem. Is it actk version?

3D work in Blender is required.
Use the Shrinkwrap Modifier.

<snip^>
could someone with Blender skills please fix the floating grooves on Bikernieki? (High Speed only would suffice for me , I don't use the other layouts :) ) :bowdown:

Master of High Poly Garbage, like 1 Million to 3 Million

why always previews end up more blurry then what the Preview window shows ?? :banghead:

(this is without CSP , with CSP it's even worse)
and no it's not the resize of the ui ... even when I open the full size pic , it's more blurry then on the Previews pane...

EDIT: aargh, and the pics pasted here also loose quality.. so here is a download

I actually agree about F1... when it's about post DRS/ERS years. F1 2020 does everything so much better (besides force feedback which is numb). And it's a great game and has superior AI to any "real sim", believe it or not. The new F1 titles after F1 2020 vary from meh to awful though.

However I think very few people actually play full seasons. They probably just hotlap the new F1's. When it's about driving feel some modern VRC cars are amazing to drive. But for realistic races in modern F1... it's tough as there are so many rule changes like Q1, Q2, Q3 qualifying and many other variables that are hard to duplicate on AC. I don't know if you can build, say... a 2025 season with tracks where DRS work flawlessly. Maybe it's possible I'm not that much into modern F1 on AC. Max Verstappen said that nothing is better for learning new F1 tracks than AC so the modern VRC cars can't be that bad, huh?

BUT Asssetto Corsa is amazing in classic F1 seasons. There's no way you can play those seasons anywhere else at the same level. For example 1990, 1991, 1998 are amazing quality and when the tracks are cars are well done the AI decent too (when everything has been set up correctly). 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 too. 1998 season is pretty much perfect (thanks to Shi and Thockard). And the best thing about these old seasons is that you can always improve them.

I have created TV graphics for the 80's, 90's and 2000's seasons. They increase the genuine atmosphere so much. Sure you had this stuff on GP4 mods too... but none of the modern F1 games can duplicate the feeling on AC classic F1 imho. rFactor and GP4 at the time were great but compared to AC classic seasons it's like visiting your grandpa.

I was reading the Custom Shaders Patch Wiki and realized you can do an "easy" rim swap on cars using a line of code and a *.kn5 file with a single wheel. Are there any rim packs available online anywhere? Or, is there an easy way to isolate only a wheel to make a *.kn5 file? Keeping in mind I have basically no knowledge or skills in Blender or 3D programs. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I have just made a blind attempt at doing this, and while yes I was able to isolate a rim and import it into AC... for some reason there is only a single rim and it's the size of a mountain lol. I have no idea what I've done wrong here but it's actually comical.

If anyone is looking for a 50 foot tall rim, let me know. :sly:

Or, you can just rescale the AC_PIT_number objects to 1, 1, 1 to get it right again.
I don't know the track you posted, but I tried it on mentioned Caesars Palace and it worked really easy.

Hey man... send me the fixed one. Thanks.

Can you fix Dallas 1984 midget pit guys too?

Has anyone had an issue where animating a wing in blender the fbx animation when applied in the KS editor isn't what you exported. Like for instance it keeps picking a random spot in the animation and choosing to split it up from there so it jumps to a different bit at a randomly determined point when it saves it. Another example is it is animating it but its rotating from two positions not marked in the file.

Some great seasons in AC, you're right. But once we have a direct game to compare AC to it's just so inferior - take kaka's supremely good mods, they drive better than in the original games but we're missing all the stuff that makes a game an experience: the HUD, the tracks with proper ads and the ambience (and the trees when it comes to Korea lol)

When I see the 'quality' of the SD cars (98-99-00) which are the same model with bits changing here and there I just wanna hop on F1C and drive the real stuff you know ?

Same goes for the 80s F1 cars - if you want the full experience you gotta play rfactor because the mods available for AC are so poor (thx SD) or non-existent it ain't worth it.

Kaka's 2008 season doesn't miss the HUD or the ad banners. I made them. The HUD is not perfect but I don't have the ability to code any better. But the HUD is better than nothing. At least it has the correct look. Ads are 100% genuine ads. I made ad banner skins for every 2008 track. Not on 100% correct banner spots on each track but there are no garbage modern ads anymore.

1986 Lotus98T based season is excellent. In my opinion it's better than RSS 1986. Ironically the best AC seasons seem to be the ones that have only one or two base cars (and the rest are skins).

Hmm...Is it just me or should there be a mesh on the fence?

I find the animation of suspension into Kseditor isn't always accurate but works fine on the car itself in game. Maybe try that?

Did not mention that one or 2007 (close enough sponsors) bc it feels like a standalone game :)

I'm talking about the 80s, late 90s, early 00s. For that we have F1C and GP4 ! We're also missing a 2009 season mod of the same quality as kaka's mods - the Prophetimus mod is good but it's just missing that extra something. I ported all the cars last year but it's missing one big, crucial thing : animated suspensions (and I couldn't be arsed) so I deleted everything.
