There is alternative that doesn't need per car installation, Nuzzis FIA DRS App. Downside is that its paid and no rain detaction, but once you install it all cars with DRS use it.
Sure, but this feature is something else entirely. It's not just a matter of enabling or disabling DRS.

1. DRS only activates after two laps;
2. DRS only activates if you're within one second of the car in front of you.
3. The leader in the standings will never be able to activate DRS;
4. DRS doesn't activate in rainy conditions.

You'll also always have the telemetry of the car in front of you and a signal as to whether or not you can activate DRS.

There's currently no such feature in AC. Try it and you'll be surprised.
 
hi there !
trying to get rid of microstutters , I noticed content manager generating a lot of page faults when opening/loading up:

and I wonder if this is for everyone the case and thus fault of CM , or fault of my rig in particular.

If you want, please do a LatencyMon session to check if you also have such pagefaults too.
If for you the number stays around 0 , also let me know please!

Imma do the rest (like add - some - GP configurations) but susp are outta my league lol

Look at F1 2020 sparks mod by LS tech.

I think these are the best looking modern F1 sparks ever made. At least to my eye. Sparks in F1 25 aren't good.

This is what AC modders should try to achieve. Or have probably achieved already?

I can't stop playing this game, it's unbelievably good. Amazing combo... first one race in AC ASR 1993 season, then jump to modern F1. 1.5 hours of pure sim racing heaven. :)

I quit modding 6 months ago... just 100% sim racing now. :D

For Point 3., shouldn't the leader be allowed to use the DRS when he is outlapping late runners ? Anyway, that's a nice addition, I was about to add a DRS system in my DumbAI (not based on a car script) but I'd be happy to forward to yours as I usually do not use DRS cars, no need to code it twice.

I was surprised the website says it is necessary to use a car script to avoid stuttering only with a DRS check situation: a 144Hz refresh should stutter only if the app takes more than around 7 ms to compute its step, or am I missing something ?

Yes of course I have all that stuff. Top work. I really appreciated that I found your RSS 1990 sparks back then. Really my favorite classic F1 season (being a diehard Prost fan)... he almost won with that Ferrari but we all know what happened in Suzuka. That car (RSS 1990) is probably my fav 90's car to drive.

Modern F1 sparks are visually quite different though. That F1 2020 sparks mod is the best I've ever seen.


Great stuff man. I have to add this to my 1984 season (edit: already did, thanks a million). If you have more 1982-1984 SD car skins, I'd love to add them. I tried to fix those numbers and stuff but I'm not really that good with car visual mods.

Shame what happened to Bellof. Rumor has it that he was supposed to have a meeting with Enzo just a few days after he died.

The website says :
Developing this script was a significant challenge. Most realism-based DRS mods require external apps or heavy Python plugins that can clutter your UI and drain CPU resources. Our solution is different: it extends the standard simulator capabilities by integrating directly into the car's physics framework.
So I was surprised because my DumbAI, which is an external lua app, checks for blue flag situation (similar weight of computation as a DRS check: check for car positions for each bot, each car lapCount, distance between cars etc...), tyre wear, fuel level , damage and change in weather conditions in track at each dt and takes 0.08 ms per dt for 31 bots for something like 8mo of memory, so I was wondering how just a DRS mod would clutter the UI and drain CPU resources and thought I was maybe missing something in my code or else.

he he, You are surprised that Your app is not using lots of cpu resources?! That's good. But not all apps are equal in this regard. I will tell You more even not all scripts are equal in performance. I just not going to point fingers but there are cars out there with heavy scripts that are impossible to run full grid on decent specs pc's.

Oh ok I did'nt read it in this way, sorry my english is quite poor. I read the DRS script, it looks very optimized, nice one ! :cheers:

good luck with that. old TC racetrack are converted from the mods who people made for the original game (which is rfactor 1 with mods). they are very private and this place who Neil showed is a example of that private, the track and cars are very difficult to find to the point is impossible. if you have at least have one of them you got very lucky.

Got to ask, Does anyone know if there is any camera improvements to this track?

They are frankly not as perfect as they could. Especially the start finish camera where it just abruptly cuts to the car making it look and sound terrible.

I got no idea how to make my own camera's for tracks so though i'd ask if someone in here knows how to deal with it? Preferably without the camtool app since i don't use it at all.
