Don't think this has been posted.

Anyone here encountered this?

Even with latest CM , whenever I start a race session, my screen keeps flickering!

Windows Event Viewer shows:
1. Warning: Dwminit - "The Desktop Window Manager process has exited. (Process exit code: 0x889800d3, Restart count: 3, Primary display device ID: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER)"
2. Error: Faulting application name: Content Manager.exe, version: 0.8.2879.40455, Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.26100.7462, Exception code: 0xe0434352 Fault offset: 0x00161e54

Things i tried already:
  • DDU and clean install of NVIDIA driver w NVCLeanstall (v595.97 DCH)
  • .net removed/ reinstalled
  • DISM /RestoreHealth
  • sfc /scannow says all ok...
  • checked for too much Disabled services

I am at the end of my rope and bummed I cannot play!
ps: This is also with Single screen rendering (completely taking the VR stack out of the loop).

EDIT: I found it !!! It had to do with .Net that got out of wack!
Ran these 2 commands in CMD (as Admin) to rebuild cached .NET Native Images (NGEN Queue) :
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\ngen.exe update /force
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\ngen.exe update /force

After that no more crashing of CM! (thought I'd share it in case anyone else ever encounters a similar issue... this .Net update is a safe thing to try...)

Something similar happened to me a while ago, in my case with some AMD drivers, but it wasn't as bad as what you're describing. There was a flicker, slight but annoying, especially noticeable in the dark areas of the image (or in the lighter, I don't remember exactly), although it was still playable. It was fixed in the next drivers version.

Hey I've been working on the Lola B02 and made a speedway version for the league i run. I have changed some of the physics to improve it and make it more car correct and while doing that at some point it seems that the rear tires have become lost to the Radar app. I have noticed that this seemed to happen along with another problem which is when you crash it has a tendency to roll. I re did the Collider mesh and Kept the same tri count. But the rolling seems to match what the radar shows which is that the rear tires aren't there. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thank you for your work, is it normal that when I install it it says version 1.1?
Okay, so the version is up to date, it's definitely 1.2?

However, I have a quick question for you. Since these cars were taken from Raceroom, do you think you'd have the patience to bring the 2014-2017 WTCC cars from Raceroom to Assetto Corsa? There's a serious lack of good mods for these cars here.

(SimBim, SandroX, EATC version) upd. by LaChub...
Little detail; the canopies of the race control posts in the pit lane are transparent when viewed from below. And another comment: the track bumps feel too strong, or at least on my rig, although is known that every system is different... I remember that some mods offer several options regarding this, I don't know if it would be feasible in this case.

And as always, I don't want to miss this opportunity to thank you for your excellent work!

Is the 3.1 default one the best for it?
Do you mean for the older version like 2.3 or 2.4.

So the reason I am asking is I feel like somehow the AI got slower? Maybe people already mentioned this in the new CSP, but I guess it hit me harder now I am running some laps around Le Mans. Running RSS's GT3 cars at 100% AI I am doing 3-4 sec/lap faster even though I am like way off IRL lap time. I tried it with their LMH cars and seems to be the same issue. I went back with cars I know better, the previous P1 cars like the VRC prototypes and I never ran those with 100% AI and I am easily 2-3 sec faster again.

Updated to 1.11
fix race control posts in the pit lane
thanks @Perico Lospa and @Den_88

comment: the track bumps feel too strong
Yes, that was the quality of the surface on this track.
At that time, the asphalt was never relaid on it, but only patched. I tried to make it as realistic as possible.

Story time:

250 GTO 3589GT was among the first GTO's to see track action, racing for two seasons, first in the UK and later sold on to Tom O'Connor of Rusebud Racing. Mister O'Connor then decided to donate the car to a local high school!!! The car likely got trashed around by young mechanics for the next 6 years, then ended up as an exotic rental car (for "just" 34$ a day) before ending up in a field for a decade. Here's the high school car in AC and IRL, just had to recreate it for Project 250 GTO.

Today was the first time I've signed on to my gaming PC since an update a few days ago. When I did Nord popped up an alert that 7-zip was considered to be a high threat app and I'm guessing it's recommending removing it. Anyone else seen this kind of warning about 7-zip?

Actually 7zip is the only extractor where you can properly extract AC mods. But if your are using Norton Antivirus it might deactivate Microsoft Defender anyway and so you could use other extractor then.

Where'd you find that Spoon Civic?

Anyone know what's causing this weird ominous skybox, I'm running Pure with the latest hotfix
Maybe you lowered the skydome brightness? If not maybe just use the Pure Discord Server and report it in the Pure help channel.

I don't have Norton Antivirus. This was a notification from Nord VPN. But it's the first time I've seen it in the several months I've had 7-zip installed.

I found some reports that there was/is a fake website „7zip.com“ which shares a Trojan infected 7-zip and installer.

The real 7-zip installer you get at 7-zip.org!

Maybe you should deinstall your current 7zip. Make a system wide scan and download from the real 7-zip.org again and install this.

Johor Circuit v1.1

View attachment 1538562
The Johor Circuit was a race track located in Pasir Gudang Johor, Malaysia.
The construction of the circuit began in 1985 and was officially opened on 1986 by Sultan Iskandar. In 1998, it underwent another development. In 2015, Sultan Ibrahim Ismail announced that the circuit would be redeveloped. In 2016, the new design plan was presented with a cost of US$800 million. However, the redevelopment plans failed, and the circuit was closed in 2017 after the Asia Road Racing Championship races. (Wikipedia)

Conversion from GTR2.

-CSP recommended
-34 pit/start
-AI, cam

7-zip has been "in conflict" with Microsoft for a while now. MS made some changes to the requirements for developer signing, and the 7-zip guys said "Sod off, we're not paying for that level of cert to appease you and your ****** Anti-virus". It went back and forth a bit, and MS responded by virtue-washing many of the exchanges from the Internet (I know they were there, I read them) and by shipping changes to said Anti-virus which resulted in a significant rise in false positives for 7-zip archives. Might be like that's catching on with other ****** security products.

This for the purpose of downloading MODS and things like PURE for AC, just so I'm on topic 😊

I'm just digging more and more into Linux to use it as my daily dev OS for Pure and other AC related things and it is just crazy how non existing issues like the false flagging of script files and certain archives are there. I heard some internals how many people MS fired and replaced them with AI. So sure they must limit more and more things to be able to run their security service. But actually i have no good feeling about this and how you can use your OS for simple tasks.
So at the end i now started preparing everything to get running on Linux and find the small issues to get everything running properly. Not an easy task, but i think it is time to have not just an alternative...

Agreed. Your work was my ticket to get that task done (again, many thanks), and I have since moved from Bazzite to Debian. AC with CM/CSP/Pure all running great. My setup is on the simple side, single 43", G920, but still. As you say, the sheer lack of drama is refreshing.
