Is anyone else having problems with their side mirrors? Mine appear reversed, and when I try to correct them with the Car Mirrors app (Flip X, Flip Y), strange things start happening: the image in the mirrors disappears, or inexplicable flickering shadows appear on the outside of the car... 🤨

So, as usual, i open the lua files, look for the code... and it's aiwhisperer. Like, the whole code, untouched butchered, with an extracoat and a different name.

Nah you were tired of dealing with aiwhisperer stupid complexity, and instead of asking for some help or asking authorisation to write a simplified version, you just asked Chatgpt to do it, shutting down the adaptativity system and replacing it with placebo sliders that aren't connected to anything.

I created, he says, while contemplating the 200 lines he added to an 10k file.

Hi. Thats bad. I cant confirm this, as im not at my pc now. When it was tested there was no such bug reported.

Hadn't touched that other one, the whole description screamed AI written*, but I hadn't realised it was quite that level of BS.

Although on the subject of placebo sliders, never forget this is the game where Stefano added a 'simulation value' to the main ini file just because he was fed up of 'how sim is it?' discussion.

I don't know where to start, and honestly, I wouldn't be able to give this track the respect it deserves—but you guys have incredible skills.

does anyone know if AI_default.ini works with gearsets or final? i save a setup thru the game and name it as AI_default . i know ai will ignore tires,fuels ... but it looks like it also ignore gearsets. in some tracks with long straights some mods run out of gears ... someone may have a different solution or maybe an app like aiwhisperer can help


edit: it look like The AI disregards the gear ratios when multiple gearsets are used.

Hi. I recently needed Nissan DPi to use long gearbox for Daytona. And when i saved ai_default it was definitely using long final drive. Maybe AI_default not working, try ai_default instead.

Physics updates to FFB (early version had very bad oscillations... but I only recently got a DD wheel so did not notice before)
Suspension modifications to try and stop the AI from rolling over kerbs.

i did but no luck , after reading the assetto manual "This functionality however is limited to aerodynamics, suspensions (e.g. ride height) and gear ratios, and there are some bugs. For some reason the AIs disregard the eventual gear ratios (if you have multiple gearsets)." i believe is because the mod have multiple gearsets.
anyway simple solution until something better ,i duplicate the mod change final value in drivetrain and depends from the track i use one of the 2

It probably worked because Nissan DPi has two final gear ratios, not a full gearset. Or maybe it was just low drag aero settings that helped ai to be faster on straights.

alright, I don't know how and why a 20 year old track that looks like that performs like crap in AC whilst having no performance issues whatsoever in both TOCA and GTR2. There's something inherently wrong with how lighting is portrayed in AC, only game where having lights on affects the performance so much. Running at night in AMS2 and LMU ? 100+ FPS, No big deal. AC ? I can't get more than 60 FPS.

Think his creation is being removed from Overtake completely, as I even can not find my own reply in this posting. If so then would be very unique in the history of RD/OvT, as normally they first lock the topic and delete the download.

I made a faster AI line (about 1-2 seconds). Tested with GT3 cars, but it should work on any type of car.
Fell free to use them as you wish.

There is a strange issue with yours and mine: cars are very slow on race start, but on following laps it's OK.

Slimming power lines for that track, magic trick courtesy of Masscot (as always, add to the end of ext_config.ini and shake, but not stir):

I don't know if it's necessary to add "WIRES" twice (to "MATERIALS" and "MESHES") and I haven't noticed any difference when increasing or decreasing the digits of "PROP_... = ksAlphaRef" to check if the power lines could be seen a little thinner, but the fact is that with this code they improve somewhat compared to how they originally look.

EDIT: Phew, this is more complicated than it seems; I just saw that the results appear to vary depending on the layout... 🫤
