Image previews of upcoming content. Being on the touring cars.
Please let the steam machine be reasonably priced so I can fit it under my tv & play this game.
Really don't want an average size gaming pc in the front room.
Otherwise I'll just have to upgrade my potato laptop instead.
Think I'll fire up ams1 in the meantime.
The problem with that is (and I doubt it will be any different with the new console) still to this day we can't plug extra Sim gear into the Xbox directly, everything has to plug into the wheel base which stops you swapping & changing ecosystems unless you buy an adapter. The way things are going, the cheaper option may be the next Xbox if it really is just a PC with console/Steam/Epic storefronts.
Some of my most used cars. That view you're using has such a wild sense of speed.
Just finished a Championship with the 2016 Indycars and it was great. I didn't win it but the fun had was more of a win than coming in first.

Don't forget to add your video here too:
The April release candidate is out for AMS2, I take a look at the new cars, as well as the new track.

I converted the 2016 cars from Project Cars 2. Still need to do the oval versions but they're almost done.Forgot about the video thread.
Is that a mod for those IndyCars or have I missed them in game?

Road Version:
Yeah as Gran Turismo is the main focus, it does tend to lean more towards console as an overall focus.Have not posted anything in more than a month. Been very busy with work etc.
Thought I would try PMR free access. Graphics quite underwhelming, lower quality then PC2. User interface very lacking and underwhelming as well. Did run a 12 lap race with GT4 and on my moza wheel it felt decent - guess. Well probably have a few more goes over next few days. Not expecting much.
Especially when AMS2 does everything way better.
I guess this site is mainly consule focused. Since AMS2 does not get front page news with any of the incredible content updates.
Sad to see that PMR is not really even as good as PC2 from an overall perspective.
Agree with you. For long time - I was not in favor of AMS2 releasing on console. Except if they could do it and have it 80 percent as good as the PC version. Then that would be great to boost revenue. Tried PMR again for less then 10 minutes after work. I do not understand how they could of even released what they did. Will add more to this conversation. Gave PMR one more try at lowest graphics settings still ran horrible and looked like a 2000 game or older. I know my gaming laptop is getting close to 6 years old. Except can still run AMS2 on ultra settings for most things. Anyways back to AMS2 and adjusting settings. I general messing around with settings if have not had any series game time in awhile. I believe most in this forum can agree that AMS2 is WGL in most categories. I would still say PC gaming is the way to go for any die hard car gamers. It took me maybe 15 years to make the switch.Yeah as Gran Turismo is the main focus, it does tend to lean more towards console as an overall focus.
You're right though, for the PC crowd, I see absolutely no reason to have PMR over AMS2, especially with AMS2 and all of its content on sale right now. It covers the same classes as PMR (lacking GTO and MX5 in direct comparison, and AMS2 is getting Group 5 this year), plus a whole load more. Has way more tracks, better visuals, slightly better AI, better FFB, you get the picture.
If they ever did decide to bring AMS2 to console, subject to the port being of good quality, it would instantly dominate the console sim racing scene. To me it is everything I wanted from anew Project Cars game, but done well. Yes it has taken time to get it there, it was rough at launch and updates seem to take an age, but they have done so much work to get it to where it is now, to me it is probably the best racing sim out there. With Super Touring, DTM, Gr.5, Can Am and multiple eras of modern F1 to come this year with more circuits and the much anticipated career mode, it's actually hard to see why anyone would buy anything else 😅.

Totally agree, it makes me very excited for 1.7 which is meant to be the update that 1.6.9.5 is laying the groundwork for in the physics. It feels incredible since this patch and I agree with you on the smoke effects, it's made a massive difference, I'm doing an F1 1997 championship and immediately the lock ups from the AI just look so much better now.I had one of the best nights I've had on AMS2 last night. Wow. The crazy thing about Reiza is that they downplay the patch notes so much.
That tire smoke! Wuuuuut? 😄 I like how it does little curly Q's in the wind.
But the cars. The tire model is on freaking fire now. "Physics revisions". OK. You went ahead and made it feel like a cross between ACC and rF2. I still can't get over what they are able to achieve with AMS2 after initial release. The feel and weight transfer and edge of grip just put a smile on my face the whole time. Dirty air. Worn out tires. Everything is working together to create such a nice experience.
The Formula Edge and Formula Hybrid Gen 1 are wonderful.
However you have to try out all the cars. They all are benefiting from huge positive refinements.
It's going to be hard for me to turn anything else on for the foreseeable future.
Yes clearly something is wrong. To remotely think anything drives worse than before is wild. I get none of the things you have mentioned. I use my own adjusted Custom FFB and setup the cars but there's no way that should make too much of a difference.Maybe it's not ideal settings or something like that but I have the feeling I've been missing something with this game for a long time and I've just lived with it.
I don't have the time and or patience to sit there and do that. I might see if I can figure out how to load Daniel Kart's FFB file. ReverendSimRacing has a video on how to do it if I can follow directions properly and not screw everything up.Yes clearly something is wrong. I mean, even driving a Formula Trainer on the edge has been revised and it's just one example of a cheap 100hp that will put a smile on your face.
If I were you, maybe just start over. Also a lot of this sounds like your wheel settings. If you haven't, take the time to learn what all your wheel settings do. I have a DD2 and I spent a whole night(s) just putting one slider from one extreme to the other testing in between. Instead of asking other people for their settings, you just setup your own wheel.
Oh you can use a Custom FFB. Don't worry about that. It's just putting a text file named ffb_custom_settings in your AMS2 Documents folder. Then selecting it as your FFB profile in game.I don't have the time and or patience to sit there and do that. I might see if I can figure out how to load Daniel Kart's FFB file. "The tail wagging the dog" is the terminology I couldn't think of last night to describe kind of what I'm feeling.
I bought LeMans Ultimate recently and their GT3 cars feel incredible. I would love to get close to that feeling with AMS2.

You have the time. It's a finite amount of settings. You can either figure them out or deal with the turmoil. One night instead of doing races, I spent the time learning my wheel. You're already sitting at your rig. Don't tell yourself you don't have the patience. You only do it once.
My AMS2 wheelbase settings correspond with AC, ACC, rF2, LMU and FM. I rarely have to make a change and if I do, it's usually to FEI to either knock back sharp jolts or bring more feeling back to duller sims FFB. (Like PMR)
I like AMS2's FFB better than LMU personally, but that's just me. In the custom FFB, I can change so many parameters that I've made it to what I want, all the way down to feeling the engine rumble through my wheel just sitting still.
(edit: I just uploaded an s-load of ffb files, just to raise the anxiety factor. If it matters, I'm using a personally modified older version of KuKu's rFuktor. There's been many revisions after but I just keep to what I like and how mine works.)
No I do not. The only time I ever experienced that was when using the bare bones Custom FFB called Rack Force with the Volkswagen IDR mod car. That one got violent.Do you experience any oscillation at high speed straights with vintage (80s/90s) open wheel F1 cars? I could not get rid of it on my Logitech Pro wheel, and it felt like such a step back from what i'm used to with Assetto Corsa.
That's odd. I tried different dampening levels, but it did not make much difference. What kind of wheelbase do you use at what Nm?No I do not. The only time I ever experienced that was when using the bare bones Custom FFB called Rack Force with the Volkswagen IDR mod car. That one got violent.
This is sometimes a condition of wheelbase dampening settings.
I have a DD2 normally set around 8nm for casual, not break my wrists racing. Most of the time I use the Linear setting but if I'm feeling frisky, I set it to Peak. That's odd. I tried different dampening levels, but it did not make much difference. What kind of wheelbase do you use at what Nm?
Ok thanks! Will give it another try at some point.I have a DD2 normally set around 8nm for casual, not break my wrists racing. Most of the time I use the Linear setting but if I'm feeling frisky, I set it to Peak.
For me on Fanatec, the setting Natural Friction can mitigate some oscillation. I keep FEI around 80.
