I'm having problems online with the demo, the graphics go all funny and te screen goes black apart from the top left corner of the screen. It works fine in single player, but thats cack in comparison.

GeForce FX5200, no too fancy but I have no problems in single player.

Odd, I used to have a 5200, it had overheatingf problems and dodgy cell shading, it did to however have aversion to the internet. Whats your connection speed?

The graphics are fine now, I am on a 700kb connection here but it is stuttering all over the place, really laggy online. I don't have this problem with other games or single player.

Mine did at first but the next time I started it up it was fine.

My specs. I turned up all the settings in the demo today not expecting much more than stutter, and strangely got pretty fluid action, definitely playable, around 30fps. That's on High everything, 6x AA, 16 AF (set on the 9800) and 1280x960. Weird.

Anyone else got it running strangely well?

Also i would advise trying to get the secondary weapons unlocked, they're pretty cool.

Well I can't get my outdated version of Fraps to work with BF2 and I remember there being something about the new version of Fraps I didn't like (although I can't remember what). But anyway... I was pleasantly suprised that I could run BF2 in medium everything but resolution at 1280*960 with 2x AA and what must be atleast 40FPS With my XP2600+ and 9800 (clocked to Pro)

On another note I benchmarked my PC today expecting to find its performance would be lower due to the fact I haven't formatted in over 2 years (but maintained it pretty well) and amazingly in 3D Mark 2003 where I used to get 5400, I now get 5700! yet nothing has changed! Not even the drivers

P.S. One disadvantage of not formatting for over 2 years is that windows no longer updates whats in my dvd drives

I dont know why, but my system bombs in those 3dmark tests. I rarely get 2000 or more.

But I run BF2,HL2, Doom 3 on full quality with no lag problems. AT ALL. So what the hell is goin on?

I hope you who have the demo have done at least one base jump off the top of the crane It's very funny. Totally looking forward to seeing more stupidly large structures in the rest of the levels. Can't wait.

This game is starting to grow on me more and more, I'm a recovering DC-aholic, and I'm starting to get the craving back. I'm getting the game tomorrow. My bro pre-ordered it, and we're going to share it. If I like it enough, I am going to get my own copy so we can lpay online with eachother!

Hmm thats a little low, make sure your drivers aren't ancient (Think I'm still using 4.12s) and that your PC isn't full of spyware/viruses and other nasties! My 9800 is currently on 380(Core clock) and 340 (Memory) which are bog ordinary 9800 pro speeds. My motherboards an MSI N-Force 2 which may make a little difference.

Unfortunately after downloading the new version of Fraps I was dissapointed to find on mostly medium settings and 1280*960 resolution I was getting on average 30-40 fps which goes down during hectic scenes. And I cracked and ordered a GeForce 6800GT 256MB which is garanteed to clock to ultra speeds (Gainward Golden Sample). I would've upgraded my entire system to PCI-E but its too expensive and the CPU performance gain doesn't justify the difference.

Hehe yep me and my brother are probably going to do the same. Come to think of it the gits playing DC using my CD-Key right now And yeah it took a while to grow on me, but I like it now and the atmosphere is deffinately much better.

Plus my good old "sneaky around relatively deserted bases and kill everyone in it" tactic still works just as well Mwahahhaahhahahah. 2 Medics constantly reviving each other is funny.

I am highly considering getting BF2 it sounds great and the vids look good, I cant play it intill I get my powerful PC back from warrenty though. ( I like the sound of the ranking and medals)
