Mashtuur City is going to be the next stat whore place. Fully-loaded Blackhawks, great. All you need is a good helo pilot, engineer and two people that can aim a fixed minigun and a couple other guys to fill up the helo and you got a 2 second capturing machine. not to mention invincible armour and destructive firepower.

SO pee'd off. Last night i had my first hand encounter with a stat padder. I spawned right behind near him. He slowly turned around and then riddled me with bullets. Obviously came over and revived me, but still i just don't see the point. I felt like shooting him, stealing his kit and then reviving him back.

If anyone needs a good helo pilot in there future games, then you can ask me. Because I like being a blackhawk poilt.

the_undrtaker89 I replyed to your help build PC topic, looks like my mouse will not be here until the week now. Then maybe I can start arranging a game with TR-5 in the week mate.

I'm not named after a Triumph you know ;)

I can't say arranging a time is really possible as I don't have much time. Which is really the only reason why I haven't looked into getting into a BF2 clan, well that and I don't see much point as public games have enough teamplay for my liking anyway.

The G3 like the L85 is only effective on single-shot. (both have obscene recoil on full-auto)

You have to shoot in bursts, just like real guns, and it's best to lie prone before firing. I can't almost snipe with it when i do that.

I don't think that's stat padding, as when you team kill you lose one of the teammate points. You probably just spooked him, heh.

A better example of stat padding is one guy throwing grenades and a Support guy sitting next to him feeding him an infinite number of grenades. Some people think that the same thing applies to a Spec Ops guy walking around the enemy base with a Support guy, but it's not the same. The game strategy says it's a good idea to do so.

Whatever you say.

What is it? I can't stream videos on this connection.

Basically, it shows that the ak47 is the same if not better than the g3. The other guns are more accurate and hold more ammo. And they all have grenade launchers, while the g3 doesn't.

So? Then i can say G3 gives you the versatility of the AK-47 on the USMC. The MEC sucks. You also get to sprint longer. Grenade launchers are nothing compared to C4s, and will most likely be toned down in the new patch because everyone abuses them.

I would rather have the accuracy of the m16. It's a good all around gun. And what's the sprint for? Running away while reloading? It's easier to kill people with the launcher than c4.

Anyway, What should I get for my next weapon?

It's between the g36c, PKM, and the two shotguns. I'm thinking the PKM would be pretty nice. I would get the g36, but I'm not much of a spec-ops person. As for the shot guns, they're only for close range.

Yeah but no automatic mode? I hate that. Hell yeah, running is what keeps you alive longer, hehe. I know it's easier to kill with the grenade launcher. It's too easy, and EA is probably gonna cut it's usefulness a little for this new patch. Plus, killing with C4s is just so much more satisfying.. :p

Sorry, i'm really confused. I just realized we're talking about the G3, the Assault kit upgrade. I agree that it has a magazine that's way too small, and that it's equal to the AK-47. I thought we were talking about the G36C, the Spec Ops upgrade. It's an awesome gun in every sense.

The thing is though, that the M4 or M16, whatever the USMC stock gun is for Assault and Medic, is far inferior to the AK-47. Upgrading to the G3 helps you keep up with the AK. But yeah, if you play a lot with the MEC and Chinese it is pretty useless.

Oh sorry I was typing fast T5-R. Also I can offer team play.

No worries :)

I'm a Staff Sergeant, I know how to fire the weapons.

It just isn't worth it to unlock the G3 - CLICK ME.

Hmm interesting video, but I can't say I've found the same in practice.

I used the G3 and the other unlocks one of the days when the EA servers messed up and gave everyone the unlocks before also. Both times I found the G3 better than either the M16 or AK47s. I'll try it out again once I get nearer my unlock anyway :)

I wish EA/Dice would get their act together and release the 1.03 patch or whatever its called now :grumpy: Late August... its now late September with no sign of it!

I know there used to be a way to use any of the locked weapons during single player play, but that got patched. Does anyone know of a new way to use any of the unlocks now?

You can still do it with the demo.

I disagree. At medium to long range, the extra accuracy of the M-16 makes it more deadly. Especially against running targets. At close range, the AK's ROF makes it hard to beat, definately.

For my playstyle, I find the M-16 works fine. I tend to avoid small confined areas as US Assault or Medic, and often try to flank the bad guys. A lot of my kills are brutal ambushes at medium range where the guy is running from one position to another and doesn't even see me. The M-16 works very well here.

When I play Chinese, I have to conciously remember to close range before trying to pick off people. I do love the full auto on the AKs, though. Very handy at point blank range.

I unlocked the DAO, simply because I find myself playing AT a lot. At close range, it is da bomb. Further out than ~30 feet, it's pretty useless unless you're shooting at someone with an armorless kit. The reload time on the DAO is a killer, however. I've been whacked while reloading it more times than I care for. By the time I can get my pistol out, it's all over. But that's the trade off for it's ROF.

Just got my MX518 mouse today will be using it on the BF2 battlefield tonight or early Tuesday morning.

What's so great about the MX518? And I think i'm going to go with the G36C for my next unlock then the PKM. But I may just go to a unranked server with the unlocks and test both of them out.

To get all the weapon unlocks all you have to do is reinstall the game so it's the out of the box version, then follow this:

Locate the file "unlocks.py" located in <Drive Letter>Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\python\bf2\stats (or whereever you installed Battlefield 2, in the folders \python\bf2\stats), and open "unlocks.py" with Notepad.

(Before you open unlocks.py, you should make a backup of the file "unlocks.py" (just copy and paste the file) and rename the file to unlocks1.py)

Now you should see a whole bunch of codes. Press CTRL+F and find the word "defaultunlocks" (without the quotations).

this should highlight the line of code

defaultUnlocks = [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0]

change all the "0"s to "1"s, so it looks like

defaultUnlocks = [1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1]

and now press CTRL+S to save.

Note: this only works for single player, this trick works for multiplayer, however, EA Games will ban your CD-Key for a week if they discover you are using this for multiplayer. So just replace the unaltered backup file of "unlocks.py" for multiplayer and vice versa."

Yeah i know that method, don't really want to reinstall though. I guess my stats will stay the same, won't they, if i do reinstall (?)

How do I watch that "Mine" video? It's a .rar file and I can't open those files. Any suggestions?

Yeah, as long as you don't check the "delete profiles" box when you uninstall you should be fine.

You have to download WinRAR. I would, because you're probably gonna need it eventually, and it can also handle Zip files.

OK So I extracted and proceeded to play and it doesn't work. Gives me an error. God I love computers.

I dunno i can't really help you there. Try playing it in another program i guess?

Don't use that unlocking cheat it will get your BF2 online account banned for a week.

I take it these weapon unlocks, only work untill you log off?

I was playing the other night and after a while it seemed that i had racked up enough points to unlock one new weapon for each soldier. But when i went to play again the next day, they had gone.

On another note. My demo only has the Gulf of Oman map. Do any of you guys ever play on it?
