Indeed, you can't beat good old fashioned Domi sometimes. Quick and simple, one of my favourite modes when you're out to kill and no more.

Hey guys, due to my ps3 not connecting to my new modem(to try to fix tonight) i havent been on in AWHILE!!! Are the new maps free yet?

100,000 kills? Man there's gotta be a bunch of 360/CoD4 owners out there who are irritated with you GT ;)

Interesting marty kill I experienced the other day. It was on the Creek map and I was beneath an enemy who was walking about on the elevated wood deck. So I took him out from below and immediately afterward heard that distinctive "clink" sound of a frag landing at my feet. Boom. Dead. Damn thing fell through one of the gaps in the deck :grumpy::lol:

I've had a few kills like that before! On Overgrown where you can get onto the roof of one of the buildings, I've had someone die on it and the martydom grenade rolling off the roof and landing next to me.

I reckon the maps will be free about a year from when their released...

Not too big a deal if they never end up free, Im happy with the ones the game comes with..... now what I would pay for is extra campaign missions... that story rocked!

Il be back COD'in once all my uni work is finished!

I don't like many of the online levels. The ones I do like always get skipped or the room gets closed right before the match starts.

I freaking hate when I go into a room and the game starts before I see who is in the room or even what map it is.

I hate it when I go into a Sabotage match LITERALLY two seconds before the bomb goes off. It always puts you on the losing team because a lot of them leave right before it's over. :banghead:

I take it you like Wet Work and Bloc? Probably the most skipped maps I can think of off the top of my head.

The thing I hate the most is the auto dumping into matches, especially those which are seconds from ending and, as has been said, you are usually put on the losing team!

Also you don't know which map your going to be put into....

Robin.

Anyone got tips for Hardcore matches? I tend to be really inconsistent on them.

The only reason I'm doing them is that I want the Hardcore Teamplayer challenge done where you have to win 15 matches...

I do not play HC often, but here are few tips I got from a friend who only plays HC:

- silencer, Stopping Power and Dead Silence as a must, no questions there
- move slowly... ...no, that's not slow enough. Slower.
- never use frags without knowing your teammates position. Stuns are your best friends.
- be aware of sniping posiitions. If you're caught by sniper ANYWHERE do not go by that path never again, at least untill you've seen somebody killed that guy on info screen
- 90% of people on HC are using Last Stand or Martyrdom. Never forget that.
- have best surround system your money can buy :)

Yes, I use heaphones to play Hardcore... makes a huge difference. Problem is it's so sensitive that I don't know it's a teamate coming along or not. :ouch:

I've not had the sniper issue too often but it's annoying when you know they're there but you can't quite see them.

I would have thought UAV Jammer would be better since your guns kill quite qucikly anyway. Plus, when an Enemy UAV is up they definitely come towards you very quickly, which wouldn't happen with UAV Jammer.

And yeah, I move slowly anyway... :p

Yes, I forgot about UAV Jammer :) Then trade SP for UAVJ - and you're ready to go.

However, headphones are not a good solution IMHO - since they're stereo. And COD4 has phenomenal surround which almost comes as a 4th Perk if you use it. In stereo you can't properrly decide where is swomeone because the sounds are down-mixed to 2ch from 5ch. Surround is a must in my book - I've played at friends in stereo and I sucked big time because of it :)

I find the headphones better than my surround sound system, which is definitely set up correctly. I can clearly hear where people are coming from, just not from what floor so well. I can with the surround sound, but it's not as clear. On normal S&D I've had a few messages about how the hell I knew someone was coming with my headphones in, but in Hardcore you have no idea who it is unless you press the start button. :ouch:

See now G.T I seem to dissagree with Amar about moving slowly through HC matches... for some reason with me, if I use allot of the run and gun technique, I seem to be moving way to fast and popping around corners before they realize where I am, and what to do... I always use UAV jammer, because as you said, in HC, as soon as you get the UAV jammer, your running like a racehorse to get to whoever you see because you have the chance... For me, I throw Frag's EVERYWHERE I can think of, Espically into spawn's... I feel that I can get away with frag's most of the time, without having to worry about my team. God I have to get online!!

I have to figure out how to set up my modem! I miss you guys!!!

HC setup

Silenced MP5/M16
Stunx3
UAV Jammer
Steady Aim (or Last Stand if you're a douche )

Silenced MP5 because it's strong enough to do the job at close and medium range, long range might not be such a good idea because the recoil, although low, makes it hard to get people far away with a single clip. Disadvantage would be clip size, especially compared to P90. However, Silenced MP5 is much quieter than a S P90.

Stunx3 because it's the only one that I would benefit from, if it's HCS&D I would put Claymores though. I die too much to benefit from Bandolier

UAV Jammer because HC matches move a lot slower. When your team has a UAV there's always a few "free" kills from blips on the radar. Also why silenced weapons are good.

Steady Aim because it's saved me a ton. Dead Silence isn't very effective for me, I only use it in Cage Matches, which I rarely play anyway. It seems like it would help a lot in S&D, but it hasn't in my experience.

Replace MP5 with M16 on Creek, Bloc, Overgrown, Bog, and Countdown.

Based on my personal experience of the guys I've played HC with I'd give the most weight to the opinions of Ceiling and Giancarlo/Minus. I know I have severe patience problems when playing HC matches. I usually feel like if I'm not moving that a "surprise" shot from the sides or behind is just a eye blink away. Then again much of the time when I am on the move I still get surprise shots from beyond my field of view. I guess what I'm trying to say is that although I'd like to give some advice I'm not certain even I would trust it ;)

Another funny kill today, well near kill. On countdown I was in close quarters with the enemy, who didn't quite have good situation awareness evident by his strafing himself right over the edge of an open missile silo. I was hoping to get one final round into him for the +5, alas he fell just passed the edge before I could. No kill but dang funny to watch :D

In self deprecating news, also today I negated a potential helo call-in by air striking my own position. Speaking of good situational awareness... :guilty:

Edit.......
Oh yeah ceiling, what about a silenced G36? Its pretty mobile, more accurate at distance and I'm thinking might have equal/slightly better stopping power than the MP5. Maybe?

Even today I still panic with Airstrikes and put them on myself...

As with moving around in HC, I generally sprint around to cover hoping no one sees me. Then when I have the patience I just camp in crouch so no one can hear me. I definitely crouch if I hear someone coming so they don't hear me.

Edit: Oh yeah, saw some weird glitching on Showdown the other day (the small map in the desert). Some clan members on the opposing team were all glitching onto the very, very tops of the buildings. I know how they were getting up since I constantly kept shooting at them as they were jumping to the top. Never tried it myself, but I'm curious to try anyways on my own.

I'm glad they still lost because one of the guys sent me a message just before the match started saying "suck it". He certainly did.

That happened to me a few times, back in the gool ol' days...

*screen fades and goes on to slo-mo images of Beerz playing COD4 and smiling with genuine happiness...*

*...and abruptly snaps back to the present with that sound of the needle scraping on the vinyl record*

What's really weird is that many times the airstrikes didn't go where I sent them, they were far, far off.
Also, one time playing HC on... damn, what's the name of that map with the 2 main building groups in Pripiat, where it's snowing? Ah, nevermind. You guys know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, playing HC there, I sent the airstrike to the building across the square, and although they weren't off by far (all explosions going near the building opposite to where I was), the last explosion killed me and 2 other teammates and we were all inside the building on the other side!... :scared:

I loved the G36 on HC matches, it was mainly that, the faithful G3, M14 or the AK-74u.

Same tactics as I used to use.
I always crouched when going on buildings that could/had enemies there and always picked them by surprise. :D
That's why I've never seen the need to use the DeadSilence perk and always used that slot with Steady Aim or Deep Impact, depending on the map and the weapon I was carrying.
