Just a heads up to anyone who has sent me invites (namely ceiling fan), I always get the "Unable to connect to host" deal...I don't remember if that started up again after a PS3 or CoD4 update or whether that was the result of my mom listening to the Verizon idiots to reset my router. So I have no idea why I can't join. I'm not just being an ass. :p

have you tried a router reset? when mine bugs out it does that
all i do is unplug the power to the router then plug it back in again
wait a min and power up the ps3 it always fixes the problem for me
i found my problem to be my dreambox
when its plugged in it wont let me connect
when i unplug the dreambox and restart it works fine

hmmm... tomorrow I am golfing at around 12 my time so I might be there depending on whether I do 9 or 18 holes, 9 I should be good but 18 I'll be late for sure. Then I have baseball later that night and have to get ready around 5 so if I am there it'll be from 3:30 until 5 EST or 8:30-10:00 your time.

Well, I'm going to be max rank soon. :D I've been playing very good today (48-6, 51-13 on Sabotage and 13-0 on Hardcore Search & Destroy. :D )

I toyed with my router the other day (forwarded all of the ports that CoD4 uses) so I may have fixed it. Keep sending invites my way and I'll find out if it worked.

~30 headshots to go with M40A3, Dragunov, and about 140 headshots to go with the MP44 :lol:

I rarely ever get headshots with the MP44, are you supposed to aim at upper torso? I was actually doing well with it though, a respectable 30-11 at Domination Chinatown with approx 20 gun kills but only 2 headshots (remember I'm specifically aiming for the head when I have a chance.)

Ceiling_Fan, I was aiming at the torso, and you're right, it's rare you get headshots with it... by pure luck usually. But do try what I suggsted a while back on the long-distance shots if you're interested in getting the headshots quicker...
 
It's raining rather hard here once again, so i'm not sure how reliable my connection will be. But i'm on, too.

Sorry guys I can't make it today, I thought I would have. Played some speed golf but we are doing something with the TV right now so I can't use the PS3 on it.

it wont read any disc ive tried all sorts
plays games off the hd but cod4 aint on hd :(
it was fine after 2.40 intill i restarted it now its messed right up
ive done some searching and i dont seem to be the only one
lots of people on the offical forums are saying the same
hopefully tesco are nice and replace it for me...im not holding my breath
hopefully ill be back soon for a game
 
Tesco usually replace anything you give to them that's recently bought if you push them enough (but shouldn't have to) so that shouldn't be a problem!

Odd about the issue happening to quite a few people though.

icelt, yeah, it got kinda boring. Me and Minus played 2 games, then Rabbia appeared, then dissapeared after 1 game, and then we all kinda left...

Doh! Boy the masses just haven't been as motivated as the first couple of times we all got together. Oh well. Guess there's a bunch of other good stuff to play now.
 
Your telling me, I havent really played at all since GTA came out, like I said its pretty much all my brother that does the CoD playing. I may go back to it after I've beaten GTA but it seems that most people have almost forgotten about CoD and have opted for other games like GTA and MGS.
 
Hopefully some of you peepz'll be on in the next few hours... I need to show off my Red Tiger M40A3. :D :p

Anywho, I've found a setup that is quite successful:

Silenced G36C
Any pistol (I use an unsilenced USP .45 if I want to lure someone into my claymores in S&D. :lol: I'll use the silenced version in other modes)
Stun Grenade (Flash Grenades take too long to throw for my playing style, and smoke grenades rarely offer benefit to my playing as well.

Perk 1 - Bandolier (It's a bit of a spray-friendly gun)
Perk 2 - UAV Jammer (Stopping Power on small maps)
Perk 3 - Deep Impact (Extreme Conditioning or Steady Aim on some maps)

I've played really well with this setup. You generally don't need stopping power if you can sneak up on the enemy (I took out FOUR guys standing next to each other with a single clip (died from the first one's Martyrdom though :irked:) I'm definitely racking up kills with this setup. :D

Also: how the heck do you get headshots with the G3?!? I have about 110 kills and only 9 headshots. :lol: It's hard to gently raise the stick when you're spamming the fire button. It's easier with the M14 though, generally I shoot the torso and the sharp recoil brings my next shot to the head. :D In fact, my highest headshot/kill ratio right now is with that gun (24 kills with 18 headshots :eek)

and i just got my red ak too :( and i was trying to get my k/d ratio the same
think i nearly had it to 1.0
damn firmware updates

must add how helpfull and the man was at sony
i didnt even get put on hold the call lasted only about 10mins
and its all sorted...intill the next update lol
 
I just realised that my K/D ratio on PS3 is 2.60... checked yesterday for once.

And yeah, the players are so much more unaware on PS3 ceiling_fan that that setup will work great. I used to use it on X360 until people got really good. :ouch: But occasionally on TDM it works, and definitely on S&D if you don't have a direct confrontation...
 
Sorry about yesterday, my internet just crapped out from the lightning. I got kinda scared there would be a power surge, too.

Actually, I don't think the update caused your problems, because the way you describe it, it's a failure of the Blu-Ray Laser, which can happen at any time.

Also, I think I might start playing this a little more, although I've been playing GT5:P like crazy but I did play through the story mode the other day.

Jeeez, James. :sick: My buddy on X360 at work, he's 1.7, and to me, he's unbelievably good. I think mine just got up to 1.26, just last night.

P.S. I got my first message on the fly(during a game), from the 2.4(?) PS3 update. I was pretty excited, thought my TDM teammate wanted to communicate or something(nobody had headsets). This guy from the other team just said "fuxxxg camper"(you can count the x's, it was misspelled), and I wasn't. I covered damn near every inch of that Strike map.

Camper label things is annoying sometimes, because many people considers taking cover a camping. :rolleyes:

Chris - What's this about Blu-ray failure? What does it do? How does it happen? Is it becoming common? :scared:
 
the man from sony said loads of people have had the same problem all after downloading the update discs wont load ..no joypad unless connected to usb

*i know the drive still works as when i boot into the otherOs im sure you know what im on about if you dont oh well
that 'OtherOs' tells me what disc size is and so on well ive been doing some testing

if i boot to the otheros and put in a game then press E to boot back into the gameos
the game now flashes up for a few secs in the xmb then it seems to lock the drive
and i cant see it in the xmb again
but i can rip it fine using the 'otheros' tested with few blurays and dvd movies
soon as i go back to gameos it wont read a thing

guess its back to counterstrike for me
