How does everyone feel about prestiging?
CoD5 was my first every FPS and I got to 10th prestige no problem. Then I got CoD4 (which is better) and started playing but never bothered to prestige due to the time.

Will you prestige in Modern Wafare 2? - Im probably going for 10th then sit back or doodle in a second account.

Dont you love it when you shoot the person first, and they somehow kill you even though being shot? That really gets me ticked lol, to add to that while watching kill cam, you see that he apparently shot you first really adds to the next PS3 controller...

I hadn't seen that, but I kind of felt sorry for that kid! I did laugh though.

I've been trying to avoid laggy games lately, but last night was horrendous. I was running about with my MP5 as usual and not a single hit was registering, people were killing me before I could see them etc. so I just turned the console off. There's no point in playing if you simply can't kill anyone!

BTW my 360 controller is coming apart at one edge due to me hitting things with it with frustration

Had some fun tonight with TheCracker on-line, that party was incredibly good, we just scraped a win against them after you left! Why are you at level 15? I thought you were 30 odd.

He's Prestiged.

When you get to level 55 - plus enough XP to level up again - you're given the choice of staying at 55 or, at any time, going Prestige.

When you go Prestige, your level reverts to 1 and your challenge stats are scrubbed, but you get a new rank badge (1st prestige is a silver eagle in a yellow hexagon) which you keep right through to level 55.

Then you're given the option again. Same deal - level 1, challenges scrubbed, new badge.

There's 10 levels of Prestige. Top Prestige has a gold cross as a badge, so someone with that badge and level 55 rank is as high as you can get.


You don't have to Prestige and, so long as you're level 55 with enough experience to level up, you can Prestige whenever you wish. My 1st account is Level 55 on 1st Prestige. My second account is Level 55 and I will not go Prestige with it.

In Cod4 when I got the game 2 months back I just stayed 55, after a while I made second account and just prestiged on that. (Prestige 1 wooo)

How is everyones Gold Gun Collection, Ive only got the Shottie and Uzi, with teh D.Eagle.

The more custom slots thing doesn't happen in COD4. You're stuck with 5.

It's just bragging rights really, nothing additional whatsoever except for the badge.

Really? I never knew, I thought slot 1 comes in second prestige haha
I only guessed extra slots as I played 5 before 4, bad choice.




What game modes do you guys play? Im a domination/SnD type of person, hardore is prefered on SnD for me.

I tend to just stick with TDM or HCTDM myself. I do goto headquarters when im looking to get some points or im lacking so many kills on a weapon because on HQ you tend to get at least 40 kills a match.

I do the same as breakpoint, I sometimes go in to HQ to get my score and kills up, other than that it's TDM all the way. I never play HCTDM though as there are far too many campers in those matches.

On WaW there seem to be less campers in HC than on COD4, strange and don't understand why but thats the way it seems. I don't play HC as much on 4 as i do waw.

^ Yeah I know what you mean, I don't do as well on HC in COD4 as I did in WaW. Maybe it's because I find you die slightly quicker in COD4. And there's definitely more campers.

I use domination for the high kills as theres no time limit.

Hardcore for some gun challenges and easy kills. I do enjoy shooting people though walls, thus enjoy some hardcore sniping.

The M21 is a recommended gun for core, hardcore, its reliable for sure.

I to avoid HC generally, sometimes it provides a really good match, but most of the time it's just full of camping. I also steer well clear of SnD, the maps are just to small and to many chokepoints which make the rounds to short 90% of the time, which ruins any tension build up most of the time. I play most of the normal team modes, TDM, Domination, Sabotage and HQ.

Right, definitely am noticing my connection is poo. Luckily my PS3 is directly above the PC (in the room upstairs, it doesn't levitate!) so I'll have to do some research on Cat5 splitting/adaptor/stuff, as I don't think I can rely on Sky to supply a router which doesn't have a signal which struggles to go through a blade of grass!

I enjoy levelling up all the weapons and completing the challenges all over again. It just keeps me interested in the game.

I never di pres on cod4, i did on waw only because i gained more custom slots. What keeps me interested in the games are more map packs! Which with cod4 they only released that one fairly bad map pack so i was pretty disappointed with that.

Only reason for me to play CoD5 is zombies. Im curious about the zombie storyline, I like the idea of how everything is connected in a mysterious way.

Still no news for Beta... come to PS3 this time!

I really don't like playing zombies so the maps they put out for that have no effect on me. I just don't see the fun in doing the same thing over and over and over on it...but to each their own mate.


EDIT: Speaking of beta, i just found IW posted this video on youtube of the first footage of multi for MW:2! Looks freaking sweet, i didn't expect the ability to customize what your streaks get you!

I think the dragonuv was confirmed but I cant remember the other one. I dont think No-Scoping will come back untill around Christmas or just after, all the little children have to get up to maximum level before they start screwing around doing that. Well at least I hope they level up somewhat first, I know for sure that i'm going for 10th prestige so I might not waste as much time no scoping and all that.

Yea I'll be going for 10th too then use my second account to mess around in non prestige.

Problem is with big exams i wont get much play haha
