I love playing CoD a little buzzed, after 4 beers and I have a good buzz going I am so much more relaxed to play and usually turn out my best games (sometimes).

Icelt: Great idea about the sub-forum, there could definately be quite a few subjects to put in a sub-forum. I sometimes have trouble catching up on what people have posted when I get back to my computer because alot of the EU guys post almost a page in a few hours and catching up can be a bit of a pain.

Signing would help :D Right now Jordan is not very keen on the idea, but the polite feedback of other users I'm confident would assist in our cause.
 
What's wrong with using Juggernaut? I think all the perks are annoying. But that's the point isn't it?
 
I haven't noticed that much difference when I have Stopping Power or Juggernaut. The only thing I notice is that with Juggernaut I have to shoot the people more times, which is pretty annoying.
 
Well .. I'm about to get on right now. Hopefully I'll have better luck getting into matches tonight.

Robin - Yeah, I saw you were online today. What game type was it and which maps? Free-for-all matches tend to be much more calm as everyone's your enemy and you can't go running around. I too prefer when the matches have a slower, more tactical pace.

It was team deathmatch and the map name didn't catch but it was like a village square (probably somewhere in russia) with bridges... Really fast paced!

Yeah I could see how individual ones would be more calm, will have to try some..

I was really impressed at the speed at which it finds a game and dumps you in but can you not choose one to join or does it auto add you to one that has spaces?

Oh and what starting weapon would you recommend because the default one was not great!.

I'm guessing Overgrown too because Robin mentioned bridges, though the 'village square' bit confused me.

As far as starting weapons (and since you're just starting and have many things still locked)...
The M16 is a hell of a weapon, you probably just need more practice with aiming. When you do, it's a 3-shot burst kill 80% of the times.
The AK-47 (which is available early on) has some high stopping power and is a very good starters weapon, but don't expect much of it at longer ranges due to it's accuracy being harmed by it's great fire power.
The MP5 (SMG available right from the start) is excellent for closer combat situations; kills very fast and since it's light weight, it aims fast too. Downside is it's not good for longer range fights, but other than that, it's a blast.
The M249 SAW is also available right from the start and it's a good starter's LMG. It has a very high rate of fire to compensate it's medium power, doesn't recoil much, and like all LMG's, you won't have to reload after every kill or two
 
I used the m16 after my RPD ran out of bullets for my 22 kill spree on crossfire, it got me a fair few kills.

Then on my second 22 kill spree of the night my RPD ran out of bullets on ambush I picked up an m16 again, its a great gun but I didn't appriciate it when I first started online multiplayer. Unfortunetly i doesn't work at spraying oppoents when your surrounded by opponents, its not bad one on one, but when there are a number of people in front of you its not as effective as the RPD. That of course doesn't change the fact its solid at alomost any range, including close up. I especially love the iron sights of the m16, it sits perfectly still as you fire off a burst. I would say its better than the G3, which makes it a very immpresive gun. The G3 has better iron sights though.

If your aim isn't brilliant yet, the Saw will compensate for it by putting bullet holes in every concivable area of the map, making this perfect at firing at partially conceild targets that you normally wouldn't be confident of hitting. I used the SAW very effectively early on, I have changed to the RPD now because of the immense damage and ability to penetrate walls to kill people behind cover. But make no mistake you can rack up the kills with the saw, just make sure watch how many rounds you get through as the saw fires very quickly, the 100 rounds per clip goes much quicker than you would expect.
 
I use the M16 as my backup weapon to accompany my Barrett in my sniper kit. It's a solid weapon, all you need is an RDS and it's set.
 
You don't even need the Red dot scope, I think the iron sights do a great job, I have noticed alot of people at my level are using the m16 again with iron sights and silencer or with the RDS.

I find Mr P's RPD and grip as the best setup so far, it can handle CQC without needing to aim, and fires great distance with very little recoil thanks to the grip.

I don't quite know why he uses it for vacnt but for the desert maps its perfect.
 
Oh! Yeah I like the grips but on all of the LMGs I don't like the iron sights. If I had to pick the M249's is the best.
 
RPD's iron sight is my favourite, followed by M249 SAW.
M60 would be my LMG of choice, but it needs the grip and with the grip you're stuck with that massive iron plate in front of your eyes...

Good thing about LMG's it that they need only occasional reloading. The M249 SAW though, due to it's high fire-rate, goes through a whole magazine pretty quick (like someone said a few posts back), but for example the RPD can do a 20-kill streak easily with a single magazine. Anyway, with an LMG, you have to think on good timing for reloading, as it takes a while and you're unprotected.

My main weapons now are the M16 (silenced), G3 (silenced), M14 (with the RDS - mainly used on Bog), MP5 (silenced - used on Vacant), and M4 (silenced - used mainly for Ambush). :D


Robin - If you want to, I can invite you to a private match (if and whenever you want) and I'll help you to get familiar with the maps and show you some tricks an tips on each one.
 
I just played a match and got 17 kills and 0 deaths and it didn't give me my flawless achievement. That really killed that rather beautiful match. I finally got a 10 kill streak with my weapon and no aid of airstrikes or helicopters. And I got my collateral damage achievement across the ENTIRE map which made me practically jump out of my seat and then didn't die once but didn't get my flawless achievement. :(
 
You mean the one that you win by not dying throughout the entire match?
I can only think of 2 reasons you weren't given the challenge achievment:
1) You hadn't unlocked the challenge;
2) The match ended through points and not time (not sure if it needs to be through time);
3) You died and didn't notice. :lol:


Hey, just did a 33-6 on Downpour with my silenced M4, with 3 assists.
The entire opponent team had the Juggernoob AND the Last Stand, that fact got me killed at least 4 times, as I had missed a few bullets and was reloading when they pulled out their pistols (the M4 has a small clip)....
Called in a bunch of UAV's and 3 choppers, it was sweet.


EDIT: What weapon (setup) were you using?
 
I am 55, I have it unlocked. I made sure and checked it was 17-0. I was using a Barrett .50 cal with a M16. Claymores, overkill, martyrdom

Wow, just did a match on district that was totally awesome.
It was me and other guy Vs 5 guys. I did a 23-9, the other guy did an amazing 42-14. Sweeeeeeeeeet!

Oh do I know that feeling :) Not intending to be competitive here, but I had like a 2-20 once. Also was on the losing side of a Domination match where the final score was around 160-10. :ouch::lol:

I'm almost getting the red camo for the M16, M4 and the G3, and the blue one for the MP5.
Yesterday I picked up this red camo MP5 from some guy, and it had the ACOG. Will give it a try.

Will also try a shotgun for Vacant, I did a match there today where half the other team was using them and we lost mainly because by the time we found ways of avoiding very close confrontations, their lead was too big.
Still, we managed to make a good almost-comeback and lost by 750-690.

Which shotgun do you guys recommend? Are there any big differences betweeen both?
 
I got murdered at Bog by a guy with a golden shotgun, I have also knicked a gold Destert Eagle of someone I killed, how do you get these guns? all prestige?
 
No, the Desert Eagle is automatically won by reaching a certain rank.

The Golden shotgun is won by completing all challenges of both shotguns. Same goes for other categories.
Too bad the golden assault rifle won is the AK-47, I'd love a golden M16 or G3...


EDIT: When I mentioned the Desert Eagle, I meant both the chromed and the golden one.
 
I was having trouble getting online a couple of days ago, I figure because of all the traffic from new owners of CoD during Christmas. Now I hear they are back to working a lot better now but I can't play because I am back at school tomorrow and need to do a lot of homework that I skipped during my holidays.

My brother has left to go back to University and I am considering going into Prestige mode, I know I am being a big hypocrite about not using it and how useless it seemed to me but I am finding it really boring at 55 the whole time and it will give me some challenge while playing the game. Has anyone seen all of the Prestige level symbols, I am thinking of picking the one I like best, get to it and then stay there.
 
The one with Famine? He invited me, I (as usual) accepted and a miracle happened: although the match had already started, it got me in. :D

After the match, game lobby closed and I got error 33 over and over...
Will try again now. But if Famine hadn't invited me, I'd still be waiting for a match, those guys at DemonWare should really open their eyes and FIX things. Damn servers...
