So the EU copy of the game hasn't got that update patch yet... ahh thats why I'm only connecting with US people!....got that update a while ago. (US Copy).

Au contraire, my dear Watson Europe got all the patches, but the reason why you can only connect to US people is because the regoin of the game is server-sensitive. In order to enhance performace of online games server only allow play-2-play of people with the same regions. Ergo (I love this word), you can play only against US pplayers with US copy, and vice versa.

Au contraire squared. I believe you are thinking of the PS3 OS patches, but we are referring to the specific CoD4 connectivity patch put together by the game’s developer (Infinity Ward). And most assuredly that patch has only been released in NA and has not yet been approved by SCEE for release over the pond. Whom ever you talked with at Sony Customer Support is obviously unaware of the patching process at their company as no developer (1st party or 3rd party) can release any sort of update without certification through Sony, the same goes for Xbox 360 no patches until certification through Microsoft. That's just the process.

Which is why the US Connectivity patch has already went through SONY of America and released, we're still working on getting the EU patch out. There's no way to speed up the process and it's senseless to rush it and create more problems. The patch is going through the proper testing / certification process and will be released as soon as it's finished and certified as safe.

Yeah thats the same info I read, Amar you can play transatlantically but its just the EU patch has not passed through certification so at the moment US cannot connect and vice versa... When the game first came out you apparently could do that but problems made them stop it till the patches are released...

I guess I got to wait till you guys get the patch...

How do you figure that? I havent heard anywhere that that was the reason? You could play with anyone in the world when the game came out and they wont be releasing another US patch...

I kept getting screwed last night. I'd unload a few rounds into a guys head and then he'd knife me. It happened almost every time regardless of how many rounds I put into him. I "missed" with an entire clip from my M16 into one guy. It was a bad night for me last night

Looks like I'll be moving the router to my room so I can have a hard line connection rather than wireless .

Basically (and to put it simply), patched games cannot connect with un-patched games.

Man, yesterday I was playing like crap on almost every single match. My w/l ratio dropped, my k/d ratio dropped... I want to forget yesterday even happened. That's how bad it was.

You have the same perk choice as I have for Vacant. I just couldn't figure out which weapon you were using (apart the AK-47 with the RDS), which SMG is that?

Silenced MP5. I occasionally switched to the AK as I needed its extra distance and ability to shoot through things. Plus I need to complete it's challenges anyway.

I love the MP5, it's ability to kill fast, the fire rate, the looks, the way he changes mags... but as soon as your target is not at close range, it's poor accuracy (you would think I'm lying about the accuracy if you're just looking at the weapon's graphic chart in the lobby - it's THAT deceiving) is at the very least frustrating.
That's why I have always been a fan of the AK-74u, which has a slower fire rate but immense power, and a better accuracy than what you see on the stats.
Lately, I'm using it with a silencer, as not only the iron sight is decent enough to allow that, but also I find this the SMG that loses the least power while equipping it. You can barely notice the difference and it's just awesome.


BTW, I've started to write the weapon's overview, where I will cover each one individually.
But as I'm not a sniper, I'll leave the sniper rifles out, so if anyone wants to do those, I'd appreciate it.
The goal is to create one thread covering all weapons.
Perks & setups could also be discussed there.

The MP5 is a great choice for vacant, though something that can shoot well through walls is advantageous as well. Since I went into prestige mode, I have been using the RPD a lot, and I love it now. My favorite map with it is Vacant, I love how good I'm becoming with it. On most other maps though, I use the M4 with ACOG or silencer, it just depends.

But lately my internet hasnt been working well for me, so its hard for me to get into a match. It must be because Im so far away from the router. I gotta figure something out.

Also, G.T, could you update us on your stats?? I know you play a hell of a lot, and Im sure your about as far as Beerz, or maybe farther.

I was just joined by a friend from another site - and chose those three games to utterly PWN in. MVP in a Team Deathmatch for the first time ever (though it was a pap round - I had 8 kills!), followed by my best ever round with 14 kills, followed by MVP again, at Bog, with 22 kills! Just got a nice Team Deathmatch winner and MVP Team Deathmatch bonus too.

BTW, I got your invites (as well as others from GTP members), but in any case I kept getting the 'lobby full', 'unable to connect to host', 'unable to join game session'...

I'm really enjoying TDM's on Wet Work, great map for that. Feels like Shipment, but 15x bigger.
One thing's puzzling me though. We're on a ship. In the middle of the ocean... airplanes and choppers feel kinda weird there. But they're sure helpful - not many places to hide.


Mr P - Thanks a lot for the invite, it was a good set of matches. Really enjoyed them. What happened at Ambush? You got kicked out? I did 30-7 on that one.

Good to see you getting the hang of it now Famine, I am working on getting my Kill streak up right now but I cannot seem to get passed 22, everytime I am getting close though I stay extra careful and try to make good shots but always end up dying so close to beating my current (22). A side note, I was looking at the leaderboards and a bunch of pages down, some guy has a kill streak of around 300 (could be 305 or 308, can't really tell). How is it possible to get that many kills, surely it has been carried over a bunch of rounds because 300 kills in a match is insane if it is even possible plus without dying! Are you kidding me?

I got my k/D ratio to 2.00 now though guys, still going to try to get it as high as possible but as you keep on going it gets harder and harder because of the amount of kills you are dealing with.

Any NA players, I should be able to play for about 2 hrs now, till about 1AM-ish.

I know that my stats would be a lot higher if I could get into games consistently. My connection is terrible on my PS3 and many times, I just dont even want to try to play. And even if I do get into a game and everything, Half of the time, it just stays at the "Setting up game..." screen. I dont know why it does that.

Yeah, from the sounds of it, the amount of time it takes to get into a match usually on the PS3 must have kept everyone from getting the stats as high as the ones on the 360. 95% of the time I can get into a game within half a minute.

That video was pretty fun to watch. And being ranked in the top 0.5% (points wise) is very extremely dang solid. Hell you're even much higher in kills (like top 0.2%). Jeeesh...
