As for the GTP Clan idea, it's also good. I don't know how it works on COD4, but if it's anything like R:FOM, I'll create a clan and invite any of you guys that show up online.
Unless someone has already created it. In that case, let us know so that we don´t have a bunch of GTP clans.

Anyway, most probably I'b have body parts flyiong all over the place, since so far all GTP members I've played with are a lot better than me.

@Beerzgood: Its not like R:FOM at all. Apart from the clan tag gizmo at level 12ish, there is no other way to track your clan (but do you need anything else anyway?)

An that little skirmish we had was OK, but I'm more CQC than ACOG. Put me on a built up map with plenty to shoot at and I'm a killa. I struggled like hell on the bog as the other guy had a scope on an M4, whilst I had a red dot on a AK74 (I mainly use sub-machine guns). If your on tonight pal, will try to meet up with you and maybe you can do some stuff with my clan, or maybe me and you do some solo stuff. PM me through the PS3 if your up for it. Take it easy dude!

Yeah, just found out today clans are nothing like on R:FOM. Basically, you type a clan tag and that's it. Anyway, I typed GTP as my clan tag, only it doesn't show on the lobby next to my name. I'm guessing it could be because nobody else has it, so it's still not considered a clan per se.

The other guy you're talking about is Formula1Driver (CrazyJoeDavola), add him up. And of course I'd like to have another go.


On the game, is anyone having the same problem as I am? On the 'Create Class', everytime I put the game up, the names on them are blank, I have to rename them to remember what they're for...

Only once (that I've noticed), but my team got owned anyway.
I get much better individual results on free-for-all games, I guess I just prefer to shoot at people not having to think they're probably on my side.

COD4 PS3 issues solved

Infinity Ward says that a problem preventing people getting online with Call of Duty 4 on PS3 has now been fixed.

It all started going wrong for PS3-owning fans of the game round about the time Sony's 2.01 firmware was deployed this week, with countless reports of specific error messages on the Charlie Oscar Delta and Infinity Ward forums.

Fortunately, it seems things are now sorted. "You should no longer be receiving this error message or any other issues related to the firmware update in the game," Infinity Ward's community relations manager wrote.

"Thank you to everyone for giving us the heads up on this so we could start tracking down answers, and getting it resolved and please let us know if you have any additional issues." (Well, I've got this strange rash.)

The PS3 Call of Duty is also looking forward to its first patch, much as with the Xbox 360 version.

Like the 360 patch, Infinity Ward says this will optimise some areas of the multiplayer experience and add host migration among other things, including the ability to mute other players. Hurrah!

I think there's a person or two who will greatly appreciate the ability to mute players

I just found out why the clan tag wasn't showing on the lobby: same thing as the 'create classes' - it's erased when I leave the game. That sucks.

How is the stability of the Multiplayer on the PS3 now anyways? That's one of the main reasons why I didn't buy it for the PS3.

I find that the online is pretty good for the most part but there are games where you get interupted connections and you can hear all the people on the mics going "What the F..." but I don't think it is very bad.

What I find worse is when the host ends the game after getting an early lead.

^ I agree on all counts, it has some issues, but nothing relevant (imo).

And you're right about the host ending games early, it only happened to me a few times, but it sucks. Last night I had a game ending (by host) about 5secs after it started. I'm guessing he got a clean headshot on someone and ended it. I didn't even hear a thing...

But the waiting for a game thing usually only happens when you're entering the first match after starting the game (and it's not really a long wait, maybe a couple of minutes 90% of the times - if it's taking too long, I go back, try again and I'm in), since after you've played the first, it's a roll. 👍

Anyone else having the 'Create a Class' names disappearing issue?


Also, I already won 2 'free-for-all' matches!
I know, not much, mainly for some really good players out there, but it's an important achievement for me, meaning I'm getting much better on the game. I'm really proud of myself.


On another side note, I'm finding the 'Martyrdom' perk to be really awesome ion adding to your kill count. It's unbelievable the amount of people that don't step away after killing the other guy.
Of course some of them would like to run away, but probably, as it happened to me too many times, they're on a tight space and end up tripping on a chair or whatever, and not being able to cover from the grenade in time.

It's sweet when you die and see the '+5' appearing on the TV.

I had that "create-a-class" problem start last week and hasn't stopped, I already have my spots memorized though so its not that big a deal for me. Maybe you would want to see them if they have cool names or something but it doesn't really affect me.

I started with the last stand perk but after I unlocked Martyrdom I put it on and love it, you got it man nothign like gettin that +5 or +10 appear on your screen when you are dead.

Beerzgood you kept on sending me invites but when I accepted them, I would get a message saying the server is full, I was dissappointed I wanted to play with you again.

I am at lvl 49 now though so I unlocked the .50cal barrett sniper rifle which is amazingly powerful. I dont think I am going on tonight but maybe some of us can get a few rounds in tomorrow.

I got it for the PC, and I am amazed. I'm a bit sad Act I seemed long while Act II & III seemed short. So, not a very long game. BUT, I loved the storyline. First game I can really say I was intrigued by it. Had a lot of little twists and I loved how Infinity Ward was not afraid to kill happy endings. I was glad someone survived though. And the bonus mission was badass. Short though. BTW, anyone noticed how Victor Zakhaev looked like Niko from GTA IV?

Haven't tried MP yet, though I hear you'll die fast starting out, and that it can rival BF2 in terms of tactical shooters.

All in all, I can't even imagine how Infinity Ward can top this. They had a great story, awesome gameplay, and stunning graphics.
9.5/10 from. Minus .5 for those f'ing dogs!

The only sure way to get the GTP posse all in the same room without that stuff happening is to have a host and inviting everyone to the party.

I'm getting better now, I already have more kills than deaths overall, and today I got a 4 win streak on 'free-for-all' games. Also, my kill streak is now of 10. Still, I don't know how you guys are pulling streaks of 20 kills and whatnot...

How's the .50 Barrett? Is it a 1 shot/1 kill?
I tried it on a private match with Mr. P last night and it seemed to have a monster recoil, I contemplated the blue sky on every shot...

Depends where you hit on the body. Upper half pretty much one shot, but you need another if it's else where.

And yeah, the recoil is severe, so you need to be sure you'll hit the target unless you have the time to aim again.

I've just reached lvl55 Commander - next is the Prestige levels (meaning you start from lvl 1 again but with a fixed Prestige symbol next to your name).

Ya the recoil is bad but it is pretty much a kill shot wherever you hit except maybe the legs or lower. With the Deeper impact perk it is even stronger but you still gotta hit the people.

I dont know what I am going to do when i reach lvl 55, like I have gotten this far and unlocked everything do I really want to start over just for a cool symbol. Maybe after being 55 for a while and using all the weapons I may consider it but don't expect me to jump right into the prestige mode.

Same here - I got a good few invites from you last night and tried to join every single time, all I got was either 'Server full' or 'Unable to connect', big fat pain in the bum.

Still had a good session last night anyway, a friend of mine was over and we were taking it in turns on COD, he loved it to bits (AC was a big wow as well).

The level with the missle silos is a good one. Some of them are open so you can just fall inside. I found that out by accident...

It is indeed true Beerzgood is guilty of 'modicide' (now I'm sure I put that ban hammer around here some place), got my own back at least once that I know of as well 👍.

It was nice to see the 'invite' actually work for once, and it was a fun couple of matches (had to cut it short as I was waiting for Mich to get ready as we went to see a local band and hit a club last night). I'm enjoying the last stand perk quite a bit, gained a few 10pt-ers from it, but I'm not a high enough rank for the Martyrdom perk yet (but I have been on the wrong end of it a few times).

My favourite weapon of choice at the moment is a silenced AK-47, combined with the jammer, getting quite a few kills ranked up with it, almost at the 150 kills point for the 2nd AK challenge, which I believe collects quite a good points haul.

Hope to get on again tonight, so it may be open season on this mod once again.
