Me and about 4 other huys were singing the chorus of "We are the champions" by Queen, of course this was at 2 AM and I suspect the other players were drunk

Edit: I haven't used the ACOG yet, but I did get killed, and it seems like they were more accurate in shooting me .

Well, G.T and I have confirmed that intercontinental matches won't work until they get the patch. :/

Changes I have noticed, some obvious, some not

Killcams for grenades, C4, Claymores, RPGs and Airstrikes
When waiting to respawn, you can spectate in first-person (instead of the awkward third-person)
I've only had one "Connection Interrupted" in about 6 hours of play. Normally I get around 3-ish
A lot more IW logos everywhere (all loading screens and some menu screens)
Quick mute is great
I'm pretty sure I haven't seen colored names... could be wrong though.
I own. (Oh wait it's been like that since day one )


The first-person spectating is the best new thing after quick mute. 👍 Haven't tried any ACOGs or Sniper Rifles yet though.

A new patch for the PS3 version of Call of Duty 4 is due for a European release today.

Like the Xbox 360 patch released last month it'll improve sniper accuracy, add host migration and much more - visit Fourtwozero's blog for full details. Fourtwozero's real name is Robert Bowling and he works for COD developer Infinity Ward, don't you know.

The PS3 patch is already out in the US and according to Bowling, "Sony EU is currently in the process of rolling out the patch to EU/Oceania players" and it'll be released today. A little birdie tells us it'll arrive at 5pm but let's just wait and see.

But the NA patch didn't have the Host Migration thing (right?), and still the EU patch gets it? I don't get it.

Sniper accuracy is NOT improved at all. I shot a guy 5 times dead on and missed each time. That's me, who thus far has been able to shoot the spots off a newt from clean across Bloc.

Though it could have something to do with the epic and atrocious lag I've been suffering, which only arrived with the patch.

I found the snipers to be much improved, except when it's laggy. In fact, I began my third prestige yesterday afternoon and completed the M40 Marksman challenge before the night was over. I also noticed slightly more lag than before the patch, but it could just be my internet.

Thats an interesting thought... I've been experiencing a little lag too and it's really annoying. I really hope it's temporary.

Yea, same story here, snipers and i found ACOGs to have seemed more accurate IF the game doesnt lag. Right now Ground Wars are near impossible at times. 12 man games working good for me though . Finally my R700 works! almost got blue tiger for it now yay.

Doubtful, I'm not sure about CoD4, but many other MMOs have dedicated servers for gameplay with separate servers for the website and patches etc.

I'm rank 24 or 25 now (green diamond prestige icon), I've become friends with a 10th Prestiger who goes by the name Hacker89, as you might guess he's quite good. Just letting you guys know because I may invite him when some GTP'ers are on.

I've found that, with good communication. Team Tactical Matches are one of the best multiplayer modes. 👍 May be old news* to you guys, but in the past I've had mostly 'meh' teams.

You have to level up one more time somehow, gaining max XP to unlock Prestige.

Edit: Go to Barracks and see how much XP is needed to unlock Prestige.

Yes, from what I've read, it won't seem to change after you go through the aftermatch screen, but the barracks do.

I'd have to agree that definitely the larger user base is the main variable. WW it looks to be about 5.2 mil on the 360 and 2.6 on the ps3. So a pretty substantial difference if you're IW.
