I think you guys are confusing me with El Jarretto, who opened a thread the other day on the Cars in General forum about a '56 Beetle he bought.

My avatar is from a Volkswagen owners' website, some random junkyard piece a guy ran into. I just thought it was a cool picture.

I do have a Beetle, but it's a '73 and actually runs alright. It's not even nearly as rusted, at least not from what i can tell.

Made it to level 50 last night (this morning)

Took me f o r e v e r to get 75 headshots with the M16. I average at most 1 or 2 per match. And I noticed my k:d went way down (1.01 to 1.00 )

Well the game still has the same boxy feeling to me and it is super slow also but somehow I managed a 72/21 at Vacant last night and I dont even like that map haha It beat my previous best score at Countown which was 58/8 by a mile

I might just get into it again after that if I can avoid these damn connections interupted 👎 had about 10 of them errors last night in a 1 hour session and it was pretty tedious


edit ... had 2 invites last night in the wee small hours of the morning from Famine and someone else and could not connect to any and I saw them appear on the screen as I was in the lobby? what gives with the connecting with friends lately?

This has always happened to me. They appear if you press start during a game as well.

Usually the invites don't work unless you accept them as soon as the person send them. Party invites only work if they wait... But I've never been able to get into a game invite with Famine because of it - "Server is full". They fill up very quickly unless you haven't noticed already.

But I know something is defo going on ... my brother who lives only a couple of streets away from me phoned me yesterday afternoon to say he was going on after 5pm as we hook up to play COD occasionally and always arrange via phone first ... we arranged to connect but after a few attempts we just couldn't connect apart from one time and it had an error so we gave up and I went back on after 2am alone when the bandwidth on my internet isn't being throttled

We have both connected with GTP parties in the past before the update and have done nothing to our routers to change any configuration so I suspect the update is the culprit overall ... I will keep trying to connect when I am on though and hopefully it will be corrected sometime soon 👍

I had some shocking games last night. Couple of x:6x games - including one with a guy just zipping around knifing everyone. He seemed to know where everyone was, all the time and was always first to the HQ. Shot him in the head once though.


Then a 32:32 at Shipment, which on a team outnumbered five to six wasn't bad.

I'm rank 40 now...I'm pleased. I might be able to get to Rank 41 in the morning, but I somewhat doubt it. Then the game will be taking a back seat whilst I play GT5P for the next month or so...

Hey, I made it to level 50 last night and I got my 75 M16 headshots when I was at maybe level 225? The M16 is one of my most used weapons. Anyways, I can't beat you now ceiling, I have to return the game later today, But I'll get to level 51 in an hour or less when I finish my homework.

Also, my ratio went down from .94 to .93. Two days earlier I was playing half asleep and my ratio went down to .32!

Wow, you're right. I really thougt it was you who had bought the car.

I believe my K/D ratio is still where I've left it (providing it hasn't also been hacked ), about 1.46 or something similar.
I had been upping all my stats up to a certain point, and when big lag kicked - when patch came to EU - everything started going down fast.

I was on a K/D of 1.53 and rising, now, it's on 1.46 like I said.

W/L ratio was about 0.96 and rising, started dropping to about 0.81 or something.

My accuracy was almost reaching 18%, then plunged and I believe I had 16.XX% last time I checked.

All thanks to lag, and I can't less this moment pass to also thank the crappy matchmaking for almost constantly putting me on the team that was, by far, the weakest.
Games lost by 750-250 or even an unforgettable 750-110 at Bog will be permanently engraved, like a really bad nightmare I used to have as a kid.

My K/D is increasing very quickly now. In the majority of games I wind up with at least a 4:3 k/d ratio. I thank the AK-47 with RDS and M249 with RDS with a little credit towards my M40/MP5 combo. I have no idea how low it must have been before I started doing well.

I've had about 8 matches tonight.

One was at Strike and had a friend of mine on the opposition team. This was without incident - except he knifed me, but got a claymore in the face for his trouble.

Then the lobby closed and the next game, at District I finished 1/11. One guy was always first to the HQ. Whenever he died he spawned right next to the new HQ. He'd pop up from behind a wall and shoot you. Then do it again from a different direction. And again. Then Pipeline - same treatment - guy in the roof of the 2nd building could shoot me dead from anywhere, regardless of the direction I came from - and a shoot-out between a guy on my team and an enemy where they each unloaded in excess of 70 rounds without reloading. Then Wetwork - a guy throwing grenades at you, dead on before there was line of sight, so that the second you popped up it smacked into you.


I've only had two "fair" matches this week - and I'm not even sure the 32/32 at Showdown was fair, just that the map was somewhat of a leveller. It's utterly obscene - any HQ game where there's three or more guys on one team who are Prestige 4 or above... Quit it.

Wow, that sounds like some pretty serious hacking there. 👎
I always thought there were so few people doing it 'for real' (I'm not even talking about the name/buttons and colour changes) that any regular player would probably play his whole life and not finding anything like that, as chances would be slim to be on the same match with one of those guys.

I really thougt the patch IW got out with the improved sniper accuracy and whatnot was also going to solve these problems, because it was very visible on the official forums that they were quite aware of those things and stated more than once their will to chop it off from small and not let it expand.
Looks like they failed, huh? Shocking...

Have I missed something? Beerz have you got your PS3 back yet? And was it hacked?

Nah, I (really, really, really, really) wish I had. Still waiting for the new one.
And I mentioned hacked because of what Famine was saying about those people that manage to ruin it for everyone else.

There should really be a law against hacking... 💡

O I gotcha I kinda skimmed through the last few posts before yours.

I have seen videos of these guys who have unlimited ammo among other things that they have got through hacking/glitching but thankfully I haven't had anything like that happen in any of my matches. Why do a few A-holes have to ruin an awesome game for everyone just because they want an advantage?

This is exactly what happened in SOCOM 3, if you try to play that game online, just about every online match has atleast one person glitching. If someone is in a game with an opponent glitching they will start doing some of their glitches and it just gets stupid.

Ok well I'm done with COD4 for the time being it seems ... my 3rd sixaxis controller has went kapuut with the running stick and the player wont run at all anymore 👎 Thats 3 controllers within the space of six months or so for me and thats roughly 100 quid worth of plastic crap in my view ... I'm not buying another and the 3 I have are about to be blasted off the nearest wall as all 3 have the exact same crappy malfunction

I give in trying to play this game what with all the cheats and the crappy equipment its a bloomin waste of money and time all for the sake of an enjoyable passtime that is more like a ****ing nightmare 👎

Guys, I'm level 53 right now. I have to return the game tomorrow (I forgot to return it today).
I had a TDM earlier in crash, using an awesome brand new set-up (for me). I was using tghe G36C with stopping power + 3x Frag + steady aim. That match was awesome, I got 30 kills and 6 deaths. It's been a long time since I scored that big in TDM. Earlier today I was doing a Domination match in Shipment, I got about 40 kills, I have to check my ratio if it increased or decreased.

Well if the controllers were really as crappy as you accuse, then im sure many of us would be on our second or third sixaxis by now.

I'm not alone mate! I know Rentec is definitely onto his 2nd sixaxis now due to the stick problem and have seen other forums discussing the stick problems also ... I suppose I'm heavy handed as are lots of other people but surely they should be a bit more rigorously tested before they hit the shelfs 👎

I don't kick them around the room or batter them with hammers! they just buckle under my constant pressing to run action

btw! ..do you work for Sony? Appears to me like I have hit a raw nerve with my unfounded accusations giving the sticks some stick so to speak

My controller was starting to experience some issues when my PS3 crapped out too.
I'm guessing that has to do with this game too, because L3 sometimes got stuck on a slight upwards position and my guy moved slowly (really slowly) which made me fall from places sometimes when I thought I was standing still.
Also made sniping a lot more difficult, because the R3 was depressed it became extremely hard for me to keep it still, as if it was over-sensitive.

Just a few days before the PS3 affair, I had bought a Logitech wirell controller, which was working great, heavier and with a better feeling than the Sixaxis controller. Seems more robust too.
Give it a try, mate. 👍



PS: If you want to stick with that controller, I suggest you become a full-time camper.

My SIXAXIS is beginning to creak alarmingly now, and my attention was drawn to just how crappy the fit is between the top and bottom panels. But I haven't killed it yet (I've only ever killed one controller - a DS2 which refused to "X" any more).

I'm looking at importing some DS3s from Yes-Asia - £30 for white, black or satin silver... Mmmm.


Incidentally, if they're broken but visibly intact, any chance I can have them?

Mr P - I've taken a couple of crappy shots of the Logitech controller to show you the model.
On the back plate it says: Cordless Precision.
So far, I have all resons to believe that this controller, being cheaper than the Sixaxis, has a much better build than the former. also, like the name says, it's extremely precise, and I was being able to aim more accurately with it than I could before with the Six.
Also, note the L2 and R2 buttons; much better grip under all circumstances, and a lot more comfortable while playing.

Definitely recommend it. And I don't even work for Logitech!

I have that controller, picked it up for $10 at Wal-Mart on the clearance shelf, it DOES NOT have motion sensing, and it was supposed to have rumble, but that doesn't work either. The D-Pad will also need some use before it is effective.

I know, but I got all the info for mine from ze internet, but I'm warning him that if he wants to play Super Rub'a'Dub, He's screwed as far as that goes

And apparently it does have rumble built in, but so far not utilized, not even in Motorstorm which has rumble support.

My Sixaxis has been fine so far, it came with my HK PS3 and is still going ok...

There was only once that the L3 stopped working and I think it maybe have been a bluetooth or game error because it has worked ever since...

Do you think the region you buy the controllers makes a difference? I had an official DS2 from Japan and the UK... the UK one crapped out after like 2 years and the other one has never had a problem...

Maybe Sony makes them better for Asian markets???

However I still think the Sixaxis is really poor quality.... I may get a DS3.
