Do you think that mimaximax may be an "undercover" PD employee?

One thing I have though of a couple times before was "HOW did mimaximax get the demo? I have a feeling that he could quite possibly be a PD employee in disguise. What do you guys think?

Let's hope he is!!

But if he was, he would have been fired by now.

He doesn't have the demo, I don't think he ever said that he does. If you listen to one of the vids he posted with the original sound, you can hear people and other noises in the background. It sounds like a large hall or room with people moving about. It has the same background noises as a previously uploaded video that included those annoying toyota reaction time test noises.

There is a board that tests your reaction time. It's some kind of a toyota test board. Lights come on and when you hit them, this annoying "chime" sound is heard.

To be quite honest, I don't really care how he got access to make those videos. Waking up each morning to more and more videos from the same build we've seen time and time again (or it would appear so) is getting a bit boring to be honest! All I really care about at the moment is the release date.

do I hear an Echo?

It's from some Toyota display room type thing in Japan. Toyota Mega Web in Odaiba. If you recall when the videos first surfaced there was this beeping sound, it belongs to reaction test game thing

You can hear GT5 demos in the background :)

This was taken at the Toyota Mega Web, part of a gigantic entertainment center with arcades, a mini amusement park, and a mall that highly resembles the Atlantis in Reno.
The Toyota part of it comes from a part of it all where you can check out a ****-ton of Toyota cars, drive simulators, go-karts, and basically do a ton of stuff Toyota related.

The answer is no and I can't believe some think he is!

If PD were going to release videos do you honestly think they would record them via pointing a camera at the TV! the videos might be impressive but it isn't exactly the best way of capturing the footage.

It is an interesting marketing concept.

All companies are losing control on their brand, there are within hours people that post videos with jokes about new products. Is the company behind it or not?

Is all publicity beneficial (even if not positive about the product)?

It seem interesting to have undercover employees, that do not follow all "corporate" rules, but have street cred. It is certainly not new, to have official bloggers, forum members, they are needed (e.g. Fanatec... on this forum), but as a company you want to be open on it, not to be accused of manipulation.

For Sony, whatever the reasons for delay, if I was working for them I'd rather have new demo's coming out (even if not official) and people complaining about the delays then no interest and radio silence.

He must be a jurnalist. Where otherwise would he get a dev ps3 otherwise?

Gees, as I mentioned his videos are recorded at the Toyota Mega Web. The beeping of the Reaction test in his first few videos, before he overdubbed it with music, is a big fat clue

anyway, just ask him...

CoolColJ is rigth, it's the visual machine reflexe sound in video.

And one thing is true in off tv screen it's large room (like industrial area) not house or appartement room and It's not from P-D.

It's Sony TV.

Don't think he has that... But pretty much anyone could buy it. Right before they announced the minis, they announced a price cut in the PS3 dev kit so smaller developers could start making ps3 games. The smallest ps3 dev kit is only $2000 now.

Yes he did say he was using pro physics with no aids on one of the Youtube videos.

Maybe because he's part of the press, the only people who got it? I highly
doubt its someone from PD as tight lipped as they are and find it rather illogical to downgrade from showing direct captures of videos to Handycam quality.

Guys, you're right that the footage is from demos. The guy, however, doesn't have a dev PS3 or the demo.
He simply took a camcorder to this Toyota Mega Web place and recorded buckets of footage.

Sheesh. Somebody says that the footage is from a demo, and people start assuming he personally has the demo. If he did, I'm sure he'd try to find a way to get a direct feed.

Is he an undercover PD employee, purposefully leaking footage though? I don't think so. He's clearly recording a public demo, so he can't be secretly leaking something that's already been made public.

Well he doesnt need to be illegally leaking stuff, I personally think it is someone from PD as doubtfull as you guys make it sound, but they are a company and every company will do dodgy things. Maybe this was recorded intentionally ;), but because no one can prove it was them they have the peace of mind but at the same time feed the fans to keep the hype going, the dodgy handycam quality could just be tricking us into thinking its not them.
