Some of the Greece stages (not the harder hairpinny ones) in DR2.0 feel quite local, like flumes through the forests if it was sunny here. But something in these parts would be good, not sure if the WRC licence can do the likes of Scottish (since it covers some of Keilder forest in England too) and Irish national rallies for a DLC if it's technically an add-on. Used to love the amount of stages in the Network Q RAC Rally game, something like that would be brilliant if it's as easy to just draw tracks as Unreal 5 tech demos makes it look, whether soon or future versions of this new title use that. I'm sure a 1995 variant would please a lot of players as a full-on version of 'moments', expect the UK is a big market for this game and we'll see at least something over the course of the next few years.

What are the Central Europe tracks that will be free DLC?

Central European Rally is a new event on the WRC 2023 and 24 calendar. Based in southeast Germany I think, with stages going through Germany, Austria and Czech Republic over the 3 days. All tarmac event.

I imagine with 3 different countries to try and replicate in the game, it’s probably a rally that’ll take a little bit more work than they’ve had time to do before launch.

In my dreams we get a 2023 spec, 4k version of the British environment in Colin McRae Rally 1, with Kielder Forest etc, patches of snow on the road, through that mudbath stage set in the Scottish Borders then down to that late night forest stage in Dolgellau (Wales) that uses to make me tear my hair out. A proper late Autumn trip through thick British forests vs all the water, mud and darkness that mother nature can throw at you. I loved (and hated for how hard it was!) that particular depiction of Rally GB.

I'm slightly disappointed there's no British environment in this game as it stands yeah, but I'm sure it'll come. Wales and Scotland were both DLC in DR2.0 I think.

I worked on the scripts for these Deep Dives in March 😅
And you couldn't even give us a single hint?

Here we go!

Stages look fantastic from the early shots.
30km+ stages.
Menu looks very Forza Motorsport 4.
Setup screen looks excellent.
Most authentic handling model to date.
Cockpit views look excellent.
Massive revamp to Monte Carlo, narrow village sections looks very tight.
Stages are all replicas of real roads. Including the Col de Turini.
4 seasons confirmed. Including Monte in summer by the look of it.
Gameplay visuals look fantastic and the audio is exceptional as expected.

Career, builder and moments being revealed next week.

Well, I’m super impressed. The gameplay we got to see there looked incredible, the stages look absolutely fantastic and the audio is what I would expect after DR2, fantastic.

Really cannot wait for this now.

Aw, man, was that it for this week? I want moaarrr...

It looked straight outta WRC9 except in full Codemasters visual quality, sounds like exactly what people were hoping for.

It's good that everything we learnt on how to handle the slippy Monte roads in DR 2.0 will now apply to a greater variety of super long winter stages now. And by good I mean terrifying. Terrifyingly good.

That £40-something is beginning to feel like the best games purchase I've made all month now. Feeling the hype.

Was the video shown in higher than 1080p on Discord? I was hoping for at least 2K on YouTube but I can wait until the end of next month when the actual game hits if we have to.

It live-streamed at lower res I think. The YouTube video is now viewable at 4k. Looks absolutely glorious.

YouTube Premieres default to lower quality for livestreams, but the video itself is 4K so go back and watch.

Overall, the game looks quite compelling so far. But my biggest issue is the color grading that they have chose to do for on stage racing. Everything looks incredibly desaturated and warm. In addition, the contrast is way too high, making a lot of the shadows look much darker than they probably should. The car selection screen looks so much more appealing than the gameplay screens

That is so far my only complaint too. Would love to have a more natural, vibrant look to it. Night time can use some work too. Doesn't look up to quality yet. For the rest I absolutely love what I've seen so far. I can see myself running that 309 and 205 endlessly :D Wonder if we will have stats per car like hours spend at kilometers driven. Would be a nice touch

The stage design looks fantastic, really upped in detail from DR2.

That 19km Spain stage is the Querol - Les Pobles stage from the 2021 Rally Catalunya.

That trailer was everything I needed, the pre-order will be going in!

The one thing that I hate is that livery for the older Focus, I would've loved it if they could get a real one on their like Delecour's car from 2001. Having Henning Solberg colours on the 2008 car more than makes up for it though 🥰

Pretty thrilled about this game, pre-ordered it for PS5. I'm sure it was mentioned somewhere, but hoping this has the same or similar driving physics as DR 2.0. With that I am happy with the rally stages and car list for the most part.

Still would love to see a Celica ST205, Subaru WRC2003/4 (I'm not a big fan of the "bugeye" ones is all, but any GD Impreza is okay) and a little sad they dropped the MK7 Fiesta R2, but the MK8 Rally4 is close enough.

The game looks very promising so far. I’m trying to figure out if one of the stage pictures shown fits to the Corsica rally. I know it’s unlikely but I hope we get the German rally at some later point. I always liked the vineyard rally stages.

The video mentions the handling quite a bit. If you liked DiRT Rally 2.0 you’ll like this.
