Meh, If standard Cars will have a Cockpit View, it will be just like the GTPSP one, surely dissappointing.

Now, what I believe is every car will Have Cockpit view with dashboard and all that stuff, its just that the premium cars will have more details, like complete backseats, all the knobs, the floor completely modelled, Engine, suspension and lots of that stuff Modeled.

Even though, I cant Believe a Suzuki Cervo is a premium car

Perhaps to get further clarification, could someone at E3 perhaps look for a standard car and race with it?

Also I think what could perhaps be taken from the premium/Normal models. Premium made with new assets, normal made with assets from previous GT games but retopologized (clean up the 3d mesh of the vehicle in terms of geometry), and higher resolution textures etc..

All cars in GT5P have cockpit view!! So you think in the last 2 years they only modeled around 125 more cockpits? You think all cars in GT5P are premium cars?

All cars will have cockpit!

There are no standard cars in the E3 demo, there's a video with the car selection and they are all "premium".

Come on people. Kaz is a perfectionist. He isn't going to release a game with 200 cars that have cockpit view and 800 that don't. Think about it for more than a couple of seconds and stop worrying about it.

How odd, yet again we get this same confusion. So every single car we've seen so far is Premium? As they all seem to have cockpit view...

I guess we haven't seen 200 cars in total so far in Prologue/Demo videos, maybe over 100. I guess that gives you an idea of just how many cars 200 really is... a lot.

OR.... remember that the first mention of PREMIUM was after Prologue, I think it was the bits-falling-off damage demo involving the Subarau. Yeah it DID look like a bit more work went into this than the cars in Prologue. Are the existing prologue cars perhaps just "standard"? ie - standard do have a modelled dashboard (but maybe not the full interior)

So my new wish is for someone to pick a non-premium car in one of these demo videos and drive it around a bit

- capture some footage in replay (I want to see how it compares visually - forza/gotham levels mentioned in article would indicate lower standard than anything we've seen so far for GT5/prologue),

- capture some in-car view. (I want to see in car on standard view... if it is indeed a just a black outline like psp version)

THEN AGAIN, cockpit view *IS* gratuitous. If I was able to adjust distance from the wind-shield, so I could see more of the screen....and less of the wheel and dials I probably would...it's nice feeling like you are in the car, but when it results in only 50% of the screen being your view out of the car, it's a bit silly...

And aren't quite a few of those cars not in GT5P?

So if we add together those cars and the ones from GT5P (which we'll just assume are premium) that doesn't leave a lot of cars left to be premium?

Here's hoping premium means modelling of the internals...:nervous:

So let's see:
A Focus RS is a premium car?
A Golf is a premium car?
A Suzuki Capuccino is a premium car?

All the cars in Prologue are premium cars?

If our own Master Car list can be trusted, we already know over 160 cars (counting race car liveries as different cars) and pretty much all have cockpit view, so that too is comforting. So unless we only have a couple as yet unveiled premium models and the rest are standard......

^^^^^

Its just the way the article reads, really doesnt look good but I hope your right, if your not it could be the dealbreaker with this game.

My own theory which I think was said already is all cars will have cocpit but when you do rear view in standard cars you just see the road.

That's my main argument, although the three you listed would make sense as premium cars, the Cervo doesn't.

The thing is, everything Kaz says is filtered through his translator - too vague - FIRE the man ASAP!

Guys i dont think it can be any clearer - i quote:-

'standard cars won't have interiors, which is a bit sad, but there are, like, 800 of them'

Still 200 is a lot of cars, unless your particular favourite is missing!

I hate to say that this is correct. How much clearer do you want it?

Looks like a lot of cases of denile :)

Its bad news if theres only 200 cars with cockpit view, however it wouldnt be so bad if they promised to carry on making cockpit views for the 800 cars left after the game was released. like every few weeks we would get a update saying such and such cars have the cockpit view, i'd kinda enjoy that because i'd be in those cars straight away checking the cockpit out.

I don't have a huge problem with 800 cars without cockpits, in Prologue I tended to prefer using the bumper cams or bonnet cams anyway. I only ever used cockpit views for when I was just playing to enjoy the game rather than competitively, so 200 of them is fine with me!

The important things are the gameplay, physics and online features which sound like they are fantastic. 👍

The graphics, cockpit views, crashes/damage, day/night features all are nice additions but not hugely necessary. So if any of these are compromised in some way I honestly don't mind, which appears to be the case.

Guys, please!

Either you believe that 800 cars won't have a cockpit view and Porsche will be included, or you believe in neither.

Saying the Porsche-comment was just a figure of speech, but being literal about the cockpit-view doesn't make sense.

Just becaus you don't use it as often, doesn't mean you shouldn't spare a though for the guys who do.;) How would you feel if they told you the game could only be played in chase-cam?

Only...:lol: I don't know other racing game in the PS3 that has something even close:sly:

800 cars will have interiors like prologue-standart-200 will have premium interiors where you will be able to apriciate every little detail of the real car reproduced to perfection:tup:

This is going to be another land mark in videogames for years...until GT6 comes out...and we will have game for a couple years:)

If this is article is true its very disappointing, 800 are just poly upped models from gt4 with no interior?

Really hope not.

Why the hell do PD have to be so ignorant towards the fans.

If the Eurogamer article is right, the 800 cars won't have a cockpit at all.

if all standard cars don't have cockpits, then what is the point in using head tracking, only for 200 cars.

The fact that so many of the 1000 cars will be very similar cars with slightly different models (think skyline variation) makes me wonder about this internal/dashboard thing.....

Doesn't matter anyway, they have delivered on everything else asked of them. Reverse lights, day night cycle, damage. I can live without accurate internal view.

Premium could just mean their build quality in the game and have absolutely nothing to do with premium model in the traditional sense.

Hopefully we'll get more confirmation soon but at the moment I think it will be 200 as it clearly says in the eurogamer article. Afterall this website is the only one where I've seen interior mean so many different things based on peoples theories and ideas, everywhere else interior is interior!

Hehe, so 80% of the cars in the game will have Forza-level damage and no interiors! If that means no cockpit view, I'm so glad I don't play in that view. If, on the other hand, they do have cockpit views, I'm happy for ya' ;) Confusion still around the meaning of all that.

Also interesting to hear about the two different photo modes, one of which sounds spookily similar to what Microsoft showed with their Kinect and Forza. What's also quite amusing is the number of people who scoffed when they saw that, saying that Kaz would never do such a gimmicky thing, but here we are... I guess those same people are jumping with joy now it is in their racing game...
