Mercedes/Petronos only debuted/showcased the livery so far (on last years BGP-001). The new car won't be debuted until February the 1st I believe.

Doesn't look too dramatically different to the 2009 cars. It's got a bulbous rear end and a Red Bull nose, but other than that, I'm not seeing much that's new. Then again, I don't exactly have an eye for this sort of thing.

I suspect Mercedes wanted to be the first team to launch a car. Since they MGP W01 wouldn't be ready in time, they launched the livery instead.

Well it's not as pretty as I was hoping for, but I guess it will do

But god is the car looking long as hell (to accommodate the larger fuel tank)...looks like a stretched limo

I see they have the diffuser completely blocked off with a plate I also heard they weren't allowing any photographers to the event as well, so they must really be trying to keep things under wrap heading into testing...

Wow looks very clean, looks like they are taking the Brawn approach which looked really bare bones when it started and did extremely well. I think most of the cars will loose all the ugly aero that has slowly returned over the 09 season.

I'm spotting an incredible amount of Brawn features on this car: the front wing endplates, the sidepods have had a significant change, and the aero parts underneath the nosecone. Looks like they bought a front nose from Red Bull there. It does look fantastic though, I adore the white paint of the rear and front wing along with some white on the rims. Great looking car 👍

Hmm, I'm not sure that picture is the right scale, the front wheel and rear wing proportions are all wrong compared to each other. Especially considering the new front tyres are narrower...
Seems the new picture was taken closer than the F60.

But anyway, nice continuation of the previous design from Ferrari, but with the notable changes of the sidepods, front wing and overall larger chassis to accomodate the new larger fuel tank.
I quite like the return of white for a change, though I wish one day they could get a black-coloured sponsor, I always preferred the older 80s/90s Ferraris.

I was just going to say the same thing. The scale is all wrong to begin with (the wing on the F10 is 10% wider in that picture). The only reason the rear wing on the F10 looks lower in that picture is because it's further back on the car this year, and the angle from which that picture was taken gives the illusion that it is much lower.

Whoever made that side by side ought to be shot for not looking at the details first

It still shows the differences in shapes of the cars. My bad I didn't make it, I just found it, thought it was a cool match up. I see what you guys mean though.

Not your fault Just whoever made it should have been aware of the scaling issue before doing such a side by side, which only makes people become confused or misinformed (when it's as off as it is).

So far the bodywork is a lot less plain and covered in various things again, so I'd imagine their's more.

The only motor sport where the front wing should be bigger then the rear wing, other then that, i like the color scheme. Also, have F1 cars always used V8 engines?

No, they had V10's back in about 2005. Going back further, I believe both V6 and I4 have been used.
