Got into a stoush with someone who I thought would've been a bit smarter given their pedigree in Nations Cup tonight.

Went from 3rd to 11th and ultimately won't matter but that was the worst display I've ever seen in the highest lobbies.

Followed up by being smashed off in the Manufacturers Race too. Guess tonight's not my night!

Braved the manufacturer's cup, despite a break pedal that seems a bit keen in GT Sport these days (time for some maintenance) started 17th, dropped to last (a mistake on my part), then started the recovery. Got in a battle with a driver who was a fan of unnecessary contact, and then started taking advantage of other people's misfortune. By the last lap I had clawed my way back up to 17th, and was sitting in behind a battle pack which had danger written all over it. Long story short, between the entry to the final turn and the line I managed to gain three spots. 431 pts.

Joined the manufacturer race. Luckily no more disconnection this time.

Qualifying was not go as plan. Especially I clicked “NOT to change tyres” when I intended to pit for fresh tyres. Sucks.:banghead::banghead::banghead: Settled at 1:18.8xx (P10). 1.5s behind my practice time.

The race started and I followed the pack safely till the hairpin down the mountain. A NSX murdered the AMG ahead of me. Should be black flagged IMO. I will upload the incident later. Then I raced myself at P9 till the end. Nothing spectacular throughout the race. Net 1008 pts today.

Good luck mate:gtpflag:

As promised, share the incident:boggled::ouch::banghead:
The said NSX caught my attention in the mirror since the start. I kept checking the mirror and found this NSX approached the hairpin with a different line at full speed. Hit the AMG hard and ruined its race.:grumpy: At the end, NSX crossed the line ahead of the AMG. The AMG said he was hit by the NSX 3 times after the race. NSX just simply replied him a “I’m sorry.”:boggled::indiff::( Which frustrated me the most is the NSX got a blue S.:nervous::nervous::eek:

Came 16th in the nations cup race after qualifying 3rd. Spun off of the big corner at the end. That track blows my (insert swear word here.) I have never won an FiA race. I don't suck at racing games, please don't say I do.

Just won my manufacturer race starting from 4th, pretty happy about it. I got a stupid question tho, if I didn't capture my race, what is the easiest way to upload it somewhere? Watch the replay and record it ?

I hate Willow Springs :(:(:(
I also hate Willow Springs, more so in the KTM. Weirdly qualified fifth though, but opted to fuel and tyre save on the basis of that being a fluke lap (and it was) and other people crashing might move me up. Half a lap less and I'd have been 6th, but finished a decent 8th and more than doubled my points so far.

I've got to do Yamayabi tonight in Manufacturer too, even though I hate the track AND Gr.3 cars, because I missed two good races thanks to GWFOS.

So the 2 stop strats at Kyoto is again effective, provided you don't get swiped to death going through the uphill esses

Great Nation's Cup race today. Contrary to most people, I love Willow's Spring. It rewards good driving. As expected, most of the opposition ran itself off the track at one point or another. Managed tyrewear and fuel so I didn't have to pit so it was mostly just a case of driving consistent. During the final laps, someone managed to take down all 5 of the distance markers on the last corner, and as I was expecting it, 2nd place absolutely binned it, which I gratefully picked up.

The track is only hard when you're trying to push qualy pace every lap. Stick to the roads, treat the tires nice and don't try risky passes - if stay on your opponent's tail pipe, they'll run themselves off most of the time because they'll try to be faster than they should be.

Qualfied 5th in manu and ended 11th.

To my fellow driver friends, why that aggressive?

Is there something to win and I'm the only one who isn't aware of it?

only had time for one race today so went for Manufacturers for a change - feel like I'm better round Yamagiwa+Miyabi than Willow Springs. practice went well, beat my PB, and then qualified 3rd, 0.140s off pole and a fraction down on 2nd. given I came into the room as #20, that'll do nicely.

lost a place in T1 as the car behind nudged me wide and I had to lift off to avoid going wide on the exit, got through the esses OK but the car behind gave me a nudge just before the left hander at the end (I was on the racing line and they tried going round the outside? OK then) and then someone punted me off in the corner itself. so down to 18th and last and a few seconds off 17th. sigh.

decent recovery drive to finish 10th in the end I think, some pretty iffy looking driving in the midfield, when I caught them they all had penalties and were judging each other off which helped me, until they nudged me off which didn't help funnily enough.

so 3rd to 10th isn't ideal, but given the circumstances probably not that bad.

DOUBLE TOP TEN PLACEMENTS TODAY ? I was driving like I was possessed  Got 1375 points in Nations Cup and 1342 points in Man. series :O Also new record in the DR ranking, finally reaching the 57000 points mark :D And don't even make me start talking a french guy who lighly punted me in Kyoto, got no penalty but HE GAVE ME BACK THE POSITION  (and then overtakes me fairly a lap later in the same point ) What sorcery is this ?

However I think that my job here in Season 2 is over; I will probably do the race at DT Gardens next time, but then I think I will pass the Nurb race and then the final day all together :) Variations to this thought however can still apply :sly:

Has anyone made this work? Seems like a wash, though it is nice having fresh tires much of the race. I tried it in a practice lobby but traffic ruined it, and it seems if you can't put in qualy laps the whole race it's hard to make a two-stopper worthwhile.

Oh, man, did I screw up in the Manu Cup. I made a couple of mistakes on my first flying lap so I decided to pit for fresh tyres. As I was ambling about on my second outlap looking for space, I noticed I was under pressure to get a timed lap in. Sweating buckets, I missed the line by a second. Qualified 20th with no time. Aaargh! The race wasn't much better but I managed to scramble to 10th. But for the fact that I was hitting times close to my PB for 20 mins beforehand, I would blame the wine with dinner. I've just watched the replay and noticed @Famine was in the race. A creditable 4th (I think) after a two stop.

Great. Last corner of last lap in willows, then suddenly the fuel warning text appears right up perfectly to cover the view, and I fly out!!!

I use roof view btw.

I even almost got disqualified because of beeing to long outside the track!

In every other track you got placed back to track if beeing to way off, but in willows its not enough that its more likely to fly out, you additionally don't get placed to track even if you're hundreds of meters away!!

Wait. It makes sense. Because there must always things PD make the player go :banghead::banghead:

I've won with it once before. Looking at streams of the later slots it would've worked better there through larger time gaps because the field was weaker, so less cars to worry about passing. My race was pretty stacked so had more overtaking to do.

It's not the best strategy for FR cars because the tyres on them last much longer, but it's basically the only viable strategy for MR I find.

Had a mediocre race in the Nations tonight, just couldn't get the feel of the car so started nearly at the back and then just pootled around keeping it on the track. Managed to get up to 10th but that was just from waiting for people to fly off.

Manufacturers was much better, really like the Yamagiwa + Miyabi track. Qualified in 9th and managed to keep my nose clean and overtake a few people over the 1st stint. Beetle is quite a nimble car so makes it easy to drive through the esses, and through the chicane at the end of the lap, even with worn tyres. Picked off a couple more people in the 2nd stint (including the nice overtake below) and got 2nd on the line when the guy ahead had a penalty to take.

I think the 1672 points I got in the manufacturers is the most points I have ever got :)

I was indeed :D

I noticed a couple of odd things with qualifying - I wasn't at any point any lower than 4th, but started 8th for some reason... I'll have to recheck that. I spotted that the Mazda was chewing tyres, front-right more than the others, so that they could make four laps with some drop-off on the fourth, but a fifth was difficult. The pitlane time for new tyres was five seconds, so I figured I'd get tyres and fuel on lap 3, make it through the field on new tyres until everyone pitted on lap 5, then take tyres on lap 6 and regain as many positions as I could...

... and it was working quite well, with me even running in 1st on lap 6, until I got up to 5th. At that point the guy who'd taken pole in the RS01 decided I wasn't coming past him on the run into the final turn (I got a great run out of the chicane on my 2-lap old tyres) and tried to sideswipe me off to the right. Unfortunately that meant a little contact in the final turn because I was off-line and trying to gather the car up, but I got past him without a penalty. He then punted me in the first corner - full bore revenge punt - and as I gathered that back up I ended up contacting him properly, pushing him off the inside and into the barrier... and I got 5s for my troubles.

Luckily I managed to make more than six seconds up on the next car back because new tyres, and served the penalty on the run towards the chicane on lap 9. Had I not had that penalty, I could probably have made a fight for the podium, as I was catching up the other Mazda hand over fist, but them's the breaks. The RS01 eventually ran out of tyres and finished 9th or so, so I'm really glad he decided to battle like an arse for a position he was never going to hold and then revenge punt me for a situation he'd caused. Some people just don't know when not to fight.

Got 800ish points, which I think is my most ever, because I've only recently returned to DRB after mucking around with my DR for GTP research.

Yeah it's literally in the worst place possible, shame that's how it turned out for you
I had it for a whole lap at the end, guess it gave me a bit of time to get used to it but I still lost a second to the guy in front on the last lap

After messing up both my banker laps I was actually on a good one until someone sat on the apex on a slow lap, which meant I only started p10. Almost certainly would have been top 3 without it. Fortunately I managed to recover to 4th in the race.

Also somehow came 4th in nations despite having no pace at all

Manufacturer's - Kyoto Driving Park - Viper Gr. 3

20th to 13th. I'll take those 500 points, I guess. Still not the best at this track.
Someone accused me of being "dirty af" when I never hit them. I'm taking the time right now to go through the replay and show that I never hit them.

E - went through the replay, and it was a different Viper that spun him out. I have no idea why he decided to accuse me of being dirty af.
