Well, my manufacturers race at mega kyoto was even worse on tires than interlagos in season 1. And that is with tc on 4 using manual transmission to boot. Given that i only qualified 10th was the start of the nightmare. Got a five second penalty for fighting too much into traffic on one of these tight hairpins during the first half of the race. Took the pit stop at the end of lap 5 hoping to make a late charge. Did gain a couple spots on track thanks to others struggling on tires. In the end, i can only muster 15th, 35 seconds behind the winner in a b/s field. Guess that counts as my first real mulligan of season 2. The next round at nurburgring gp in the gr4 huracan cant come soon enough.

I was indeed :D

I noticed a couple of odd things with qualifying - I wasn't at any point any lower than 4th, but started 8th for some reason...

That is something which has been pissing me off since I got the game, whenever somebody quits to the pitlane their time goes off the leaderboard but still stands (it comes back at the end of the session or when they rejoin the track).

After messing up both my banker laps I was actually on a good one until someone sat on the apex on a slow lap, which meant I only started p10. Almost certainly would have been top 3 without it. Fortunately I managed to recover to 4th in the race.

Also somehow came 4th in nations despite having no pace at all

I met your new friend in the race, his slipstream was very tasty, it sent me from 16th on the grid to 5th in the race. I was driving like a granny around the final turn whilst all the leaders had their tyres up against the beach. Pack races like that are all about survival.

He was the initiator of a number of incidents with various cars throughout the race. I counted at least 9. He was the pole sitter and grabbed the fastest lap by a fair margin, but he couldn't drive it once the tyres had even one lap in them. I suppose his own failings lead to selfish behavior to salvage what he could. I got a run on him coming out coming out of the chicane on the last lap but I had to take the outside for the hairpin due to a penalty server. His front left was a hair from my right rear going into the corner so I knew he could just scrape the paint off my car to retake the position. Lo and behold...

When will PD get their heads out their 🤬 and put allowable tuning for the FIA events like it should be? Potential for good points ruined by the stupid 10/40/20 LSD spinning at the first Miyabi combiner Lap 1.

Lost 200 DR and a complete waste of my time.

Joined the manufacturer race. Luckily no more disconnection this time.

Qualifying was not go as plan. Especially I clicked “NOT to change tyres” when I intended to pit for fresh tyres. Sucks.:banghead::banghead::banghead: Settled at 1:18.8xx (P10). 1.5s behind my practice time.

The race started and I followed the pack safely till the hairpin down the mountain. A NSX murdered the AMG ahead of me. Should be black flagged IMO. I will upload the incident later. Then I raced myself at P9 till the end. Nothing spectacular throughout the race. Net 1008 pts today.

Good luck mate:gtpflag:

As promised, share the incident:boggled::ouch::banghead:
The said NSX caught my attention in the mirror since the start. I kept checking the mirror and found this NSX approached the hairpin with a different line at full speed. Hit the AMG hard and ruined its race.:grumpy: At the end, NSX crossed the line ahead of the AMG. The AMG said he was hit by the NSX 3 times after the race. NSX just simply replied him a “I’m sorry.”:boggled::indiff::( Which frustrated me the most is the NSX got a blue S.:nervous::nervous::eek:

Hey xxxman1, i was in the same race as you last night. I was in the black corvette (RNGRDRVR).

I saw that nsx in the rearview and thought for sure he was going to tag me, don't know what he was thinking!

I had my fast lap ruined by someone that was on their outlap and wanted to race me because time was running out (there was more than enough time if he'd slowed down, which actually happened because we raced, and it got to my nerves so bad that I admit that I tried pushing him out of the way).

Basically he thought he was faster than me, I was in a mustang, so inevitably he passed me by late braking on turn 1, and I'd catch up imediattely on the straights. Our pace was really quite similar. So instead of fighting for the pole, I qualified 19th.

The race was fun after that, I did the 2 stops strategy and climbed up to 11th worth of 1000 points.

A lot more people enjoy or at least can put up with driving stock tunes than are adept at or enjoy tuning.

I agree there should be a seperate championship with tuning though.

Saw that happening behind me in qualifying, utter stupidity on his part. Racing someone on a timed lap on your out lap is one of the worst things you can do in qualifying

I’ve been in leagues since gt5 and can confirm that by a wide margin stock/spec is the most popular form of racing. Those rooms and leagues fill up quick. Tuning leagues are niche. I like both but if I wanted to open a room and fill it quick I would name it “stock ‘02 Viper SH” for example and it would fill up very fast. I do wish there was a separate tuning allowed championship though. Maybe a stock GT4 championship and a tuning allowed GT3 championship to give some separation. The tuning allowed being more prestigious.

Not as much of a waste of time as spending ages tuning just to find out people are still faster than you. That'd suck

Seriously is a tuners job on here just to moan about a lack of tuning in Sport Mode instead of actually working on their driving skills to be adaptable to the given car/track combination . Same setup for everyone, so if you keep spinning or are off the pace to guys in the same car then it's down to you to improve to be blunt. Can't hide behind a setup anymore, and I think it's catching a few guys out who relied heavily on setups in the past to cover up poor driving habits.

The claims about tuning allowing the "non-meta" cars to be competitive have little to no grounding. It's like they forget tuning being allowed means all cars are affected. Also, good luck getting BoP right adding tens of thousands of new variables!

@RSBDG1 Nice to meet you in the race. I followed you for a few laps. You just came out of the pit ahead of me at the straight. Undercut unsuccessful. Nicely we didn’t even touch each other once. You were fast. Thanks for clean race.:gtpflag:

Totally crazy. Annoyed to match with someone like this at Sr99.

Nations was incredibly tough in terms of competition. I ran a personal best during qualifying but it was a lowly 12th. Room had a surprisingly low amount of people going off course, so all I could muster was 9th. However, that's not to say it was a poor race. If anything, I was smack in the middle of a battle from start to finish and I had lots of fun just trying to hang on. I do need to work in my Willow pace, though, because I'm always so far off everyone else.

I knew the Jaguar was going to be a handful at Kyoto but I made a decision to experiment with some new wheel settings. My qualifying was on the higher end that I was able to run in my lobby but I was quite happy that it was good enough for 3rd. It was such a relief to be close to the front but the best part of all was my pace was the best I could've done. No chance with 1st in a Citroen and 2nd eked out time every lap but I was able to pull away from 4th. In the end, the leader was way ahead but something must have happened because they ended up crawling to the line and losing to the Porsche. Got podium and the best points I've had this round. Definitely going to stick with these settings for now and hope that the speed I can carry in practice continues to carry over into the actual race.

Well that was interesting. I wasn’t even planning on racing in Manufacturers today but I’ve been gaining a good bit of DR the last few days so I decided to enter and see who I got matched with, because I suspected the competition was going to be pretty strong.

Well whaddya know, some of the fastest guys in my region are in my race. Z28, FT_Hellzfire, GumballCGT, cKemc_PUR, Yagami_01, KingbestJr, NZNZNNZNZNZ, TGRaikkonen, among others. I think I was the only guy in there who wasn’t A+ or S. What am I doing here?!?! Oh well, I guess this is my life now. Aliens in every race.

Only managed to finish 18th, but just being in that race is an accomplishment for me. Here’s to getting better.

Nations race was hard. All 16 laps being/aplying pressure. PD, PLS, MOVE THE LOW FUEL WARNING SIGNAL AWAY OR FUTHER UP THE SCREEN!!! I dont know how this thing is still an issue. Shouldve been fixed ages ago. It almost cost me a position, the thing blinded me the whole last lap and a little bit more.

At Manufacturers, i was really impressed with the hotlap pace of the Citroen, it was a really good car here. But, i knew that, with its terrible tyre wear, i needed to be smart to win it. And i think i was.

The Citroën ran out of fuel on the last corner.:(
good race with the Jaguar, I could not keep up with my Hyundai:).

Started the race like Alonso, jumping way up the grid after a low qualifying position.

Then somehow I ended up facing the wrong way on the main straight, all my off road practice came in handy and i recovered it pretty well!

Decided not to race nations and went straight to manufacturers with the viper. I was 6 in qualy but people with lighter fuel load at the end took me down to 10. I need to do the math before the race to optimize my qualy fuel load and do better.

I knew I was faster than 9th at least. Got past him cleanly. Near the end of lap 1, there were some accidents like I've never seen before. Went from 9th to 5th in two corners. Ghosting helped me avoid a collision. After that I was right behind the guy in 4th place. I was puting a lot of pressure. He goes slightly wide on the right turn after the closed pitlane straight and I overtake him.

3rd place was 2.3 seconds ahead I wasn't the fastest. But it looks like I was losing less performance as the tyre degraded. Caught him and we entered the pits quite close at the end lf lap 4. He was still ahead of me when we exited the pits. Made a nice clean exit into the straight and we go side by side on the straight. He lifted and activated the turn signal to let me pass as we were nearing the braking area . Guess he was afraid of me making contact sideways and ruining his race?

Held 3rd for the last 2 laps and took 1988 points . I had to learn the track for this race. Best result ever pointwise. 50 % good race from my part 50% luck.

Yup, it’s pretty lame. Whoever does the tuning does not suit my driving style so at least they could give you a variety of presets to option.

That lovely mess was 100 percent my fault. I kissed fact at the exit of the hairpin and he was a pansanger as he pinballed all over the track.

Still working on getting my Manufacturer's race uploaded but here's my struggles with the X-Bow. In fairness, Willow is one of my worst tracks. Even after running some laps well after the race, I was only able to squeeze out three tenths more from my qualifying time. Had a fun time regardless.

It looks almost the same as a incident I drove through quite a while back.

Only had the chance to do one of the races tonight so went with Nations as that was what I'd practiced more.
Qualified P6 with a time around what I was expecting given that this track is probably one of my worst, my optimal would've put me on pole but that was probably the same for everyone.
Managed to gain a position off the line (using TC1), got upto P2 by lap 6 thanks to other people's mistakes Came in on lap 8 and gained about 3s from the undercut on the leader, though I was still about 3s behind He made a mistake which cost him a second ish but I didn't get closer than 1.5s, was hoping he'd bottle it but he managed the gap well and so in the end it was P2.
A result much better than what I was expecting and also my best points haul of the season in either cup so I'm happy with that.
