Nations race was a bit tense in the first stint, second stint with the fuel saving i opened a gap and could relax a bit and improve pace. I was thinking about using the SLS that was the car i did time trial, but the car is just terrible on fuel and race pace. So at the last minute, i went with a car that i know well, the CIT.

Manufacturers cup was what i expected. Qualy wasnt good, had pace to do mid 03s with Cit on low fuel, but second was ok. And then, went for the non stopper. This setup was perfect for this. One more lap and this strategy doesnt work.

:eek::eek: Can't believe short shift with FM1 could last the whole race. Plus your consistent lap time. Awesome.:bowdown::bowdown:

Thanks!

There are other cars capable of doing this too. From what i know, the NSX, RCF and Megane trophy all could do a non stopper.

You just need to focus on keep saving from the start. Try to be gentle on the tyres cause you will suffer in the end, as you can see on my video, the left front was in really bad shape.

Something really weird happend. After I got disconnected from Nations (No blu screen, I saw all the names then the message network disconnected popped up) I thought I was last automaticly.

So I started training for Manufacturers. Just before I started the race, I checked Kudos in expectation to have lost 1,5k DR from Nations disconnection. But I obviously lost nothing. Confused, but in good mood I started manufacturers and pole and victory! 1505 pts! With my porsche cayman btw.

After then I checked if I can enter Nations, and I could! But thete were only 4 min to train left. It was the last spot. I qualified 12th and ended 13th after a 10 sec penalty and spooned also. But at least I could race.

Hey m8 !
I was in your race too ( the Impreza qualified 2nd ) nice to see GTP members !
I finish 3rd because i was stuck behind a GTR too fast in the straights impossible to overtake with the SAMBABUS top end of my Impreza :banghead:
It’s a shame i have the pace to catch you :indiff:

Ah, yes it was you! Great, nice race! Looking forward to see you again!

Not my proudest night. Manufacturer went good qualified 2nd but I slightly pushed the leader in first corner making him loose one spot, rest of the race was pretty boring in front.
I got a right earful from him after that race!

At first I thought it was because he thought it was me who pushed him through T1, but after watching it back I think it was at the end of lap 1; he cut the final chicane too much, which will have been a penalty increase, so he brakes on the racing line to serve it, but that compromises my turn-in, and since I'm not sure what he's doing I try to throw it up the inside to avoid him & he decides at that point now he doesn't want to serve the penalty and turns in

Nice pace btw man, couldn't do much with the gap in that 2nd stint 👍

I chose the Lexus for the nations tonight. Got a decent lap in qualifying that put me in 4th (think it was a 1:31.3)
I was on 6th, ~.15s behind you, but IIRC my time was 1:31.8xx. Anyway, I was very happy with that, as I was having trouble going below 1:32 during practice (maybe you thought I'd been sandbagging, I honestly hadn't). :banghead: My best lap in the race was even better, 1:31.3xx IIRC.

Safety first got me a 3rd though so quite happy, even if the race was dull.
Did you want me to make it less dull for you on the final laps? Careful what you wish for. :D I probably could have gone slightly faster, but I was more than happy with 4th (picked up more FIA points from a race than ever before), so I didn't want to risk ruining our races with a failed overtake attempt. Speaking of which...

Nation was a nightmare really, qualified 8th, 2nd corner the guy in front of me nearly stopped on track, stepped on brake, guy behind tap me onto the guy in front, 10 sec penalty. Recovered but now I'm 9th then 7th because of accident, then come lap 3, in the 3rd corner a guy spin right in front of me, I avoid him, another guy in front spin as well which I manage to avoid but apparently I overtook someone under yellow and my penalty is growing by itself which I only pick after corner 7th, by that time I have 25sec penalty so I go slowly off line, end up 19th.
I'm afraid I might have started at least some of that carnage, sorry. :boggled: At the beginning of lap 3, I caught the car in front and went on the inside, then missed the braking point for turn 1. Had to brake much harder than normal to avoid pushing the other car off track. A bunch of cars including you caught us, and one Porsche thought it was a good idea to play bumper cars with the others in the pack through the chicane. Well, he lost that game on the final left-hander, but he caused a lot of collateral damage on the way there. I got away relatively unharmed, surprisingly didn't even get a penalty, despite multiple contacts with other cars.

After that, it was a mostly calm race for me as well. In hindsight, maybe I should have pitted after 7 laps, was following a Renault closely through lap 8. But jumped him in the pit anyway, thanks to the Vette's awesome fuel economy, and came out behind @Lost Sheltie. On the first couple of laps, I was struggling with what felt like too little grip for fresh tires, so I lost a bit of time on him and the Renault behind. Then I started gaining again, but per above finished 4th, with a smile on my face.

@_ApexPredator I seriously thought you were gonna catch me after I pitted, it was close but then I guess your tires start to fade. The Lancer is fast and you dont really have to worry about anything with it as it's hard to spin. Not saying I sucks but part of my advantage was to be in a car that stick like glue (I stayed out because of traffic just to be sure since my tires where still ok and I was 1st so I covered every thing). But you're right should have probably pitted on lap 6.

@MrCooper No worries man it's my fault not realizing I overtook someone under yellow.

I'm having that wonderfull feeling when the game DCs you after three days of practice and make you lose 3000 DR, relegating you back to A.

I had you selected and was typing hello when you vanished from lobby. I was sad.

Other than that the nation race was disappointing for me. I got pushed into grass on lap one by someone refusing to let me pass between turn 4 and 5 then completely missed my braking point because of the distraction. Absolutely spearded another driver in the hairpin too. So shameful and I never regained composure.

So gutted at yesterday's Nation race at DT Gardens. Didn't feel comfortable on the track, so I spent the better part of two days just practicing. Qualified 12th since I couldn't hook up the lap. Had good pace though, was in 3rd with 4 laps to go. Locked up my tires into the hairpin in sector 2 and tapped the guy ahead into a spin who I was reeling in at well over a second a lap. Didn't even get a penalty. Felt so gutted I let myself drop towards the back of the field before getting on with it again. Had some great moments though in the last corner. A highlight was definitely a pair of cars going through them two wide, with me behind them. Got on the power nicely to thread the needle going onto the straight and swallowed both of them up on the way to start/finish.

Yeah I could see you were much faster than me through the 1st sector. I was quite surprised when you came out of the pits and then seemed to lose a couple of seconds to me, but then you just started gaining as the laps went on. TBH if you had thrown a lunge down the inside at the hairpin I would have probably just let you go, just do not like that track and I think I was annoyed at myself from the earlier manufacturers race.

From Nations race yesterday:

After the race, instead of “sorry”, he tells me he only “****ing blocked me” and that “I had to be a ****ing brazilian”. Seems like he owns the inside line no matter what. Imo, 100% his fault but would like to hear opinions.

What Famine said, and that was a pretty “Brazilian” move. I don’t condone his blocking, but it’s obvious what he’s doing so why did you not either let off and/or go to the outside instead of running into him? Do a reverse dive bomb (to the outside). And cutting back across the track into him was completely unnecessary. If you enter a corner high, stay high until you know you’re clear. Going into the corner high with him pinned to the inside would give you a better run off allowing you to clear him by the next corner. I’d say that was 50% your fault at best.

To anyone who hasn’t raced on the American servers, this is extremely common, especially in the middle and back of the packs. Americans and Brazilians HATE each other and often race each other like dicks based on the aspects of each other’s national driving style they perceive as dirty.

After he blocked you, why did you cut across his nose, and then the inside of the corner (I'd be surprised if you didn't get a huge penalty for that), when you could have braked down the outside and gone for the cutback?

Easier said than done. Wasn’t expecting such a sudden defensive move and was too late to change my line. Had only two options: believe that he will leave a minimum gap (even though he was already being extremely aggressive with that “defense”) and try the pass; or brake and give up, even though I was much faster due to the slipstream. When you have a fraction of a second to decide it’s about following your instinct and even common sense (this was supposed to be a race of skilled and clean drivers after all).

He should have defended earlier, but what you did in retaliation was far worse

As far as I know, when defending the driver is not allowed to change his line twice. Notice that he went from the left, to blocking the right passage and after I moved to the left he followed the same move and totally blocked that gap.
