No FIA race for me tonight. Still can't buy a kart, and the Mazda on Seaside is utter **** despite me being capable of 46.1 in qualy, or maybe even better. This car just can't do a 7 laps stint with the full tank if you go flat out, and trying to save fuel just makes you lose the draft because you lack top speed. And even saving like crazy, I go in the pits with 8% of fuel when guys who just blew past me have more than 30. Which means I have to take 82% of fuel (or take a bit less but go really slow) while others take less than half that. And then you're heavier than everyone else in the last stint.

I started a practice race on the 1st row and ended up second to last without doing any mistake, 21 seconds behind someone who started behind me. How is that balanced ?

Hey, at least the Mazda isn’t terrible on tires. The Subaru has every single one of those problems plus front tires that burn off after 2 laps.

Just won the kart race in nations! Qualified second and had a 20 lap battle with a fast French guy and a Russian. The french guy wanted to come from my slipstream like we did every lap but clipped my back and spun into the pits. Nothing I could do but it still gave me a 2 second penalty with 5 laps to go.

I was faster than the Russian so I tried to run away the 2 seconds but the slipstream made that impossible so I burned it off which was pretty easy. Passed the other guy again and had a decent lead last lap. Got nervous and almost binned it and I got passed second to last corner. He defended the inside so I tried the outside trough the last corner. And that worked! Won by 2 tenths :) Very intense race!

What time is the final slot for Manufacturers Race? I‘m still on my way home from work the train just fell out :boggled:

Congratulations !
How many pitstops in this race ?

Dreadful run at Dragon Trail in the GT-R. I had the pace to be challenging and when I wasn't going off the track or hitting the wall or collecting penalties which far exceeded any advantage gained in the process I was pretty consistent with the leaders. I even managed to perfect the chicane. Oh well.

Off-topic but I ended up asking @Tidgney if he prefers either The Motorious Zone or Renai Circulation in terms of music.

On-topic, I skipped the races, then asked him how he will handle BMB Infield A.

Nations:
After making some testlaps with the kart I was pretty sure to cancel that race

Manu:
Since I had only SR 88 I came into a lobby with 13 other DR/A and rest 6 DR/D, so the points were low.

Also the field was during the qualifiying very weird, had no free run and qualified only 10th.

The race started as expected, with majoriliy chaos. As surviving the first 2 laps would be purely luck, I didn't think much and just drove and was somehow 5th after first stint. As I wrote sometime before, the porsche cayman is from my thinking underestimated, because I came out from the pits 3rd so it must have low fuel consumption. My position didn't change to the finish and since I started 10th I took the 909 points gratefully.

Spend your free time practicing have a enjoyable race with a good result in sight for change (usually mess up somewhere ) only to be disconnected, yeah thanks for that 👍

I also see in my friend list that the disconnection problem is still unbroken like 10 month ago.

Like I always say, a company of riddles and mysteries

What a cracking night of racing, I managed to do much better than expected in the manufacturers even though the car is shocking and Nations cup... well check out the clip :D (Spoiler if you want to watch VoD after)!

Another brilliant stream and thanks for the questions @RZQSPEED and everyone who tuned in was bloody brilliant! Still not fully liking the quality on stream so I'll try up the bitrate another 500 (Keep upping it each week). Once we hit a certain number it can go back to 1080 :).

I was really enjoying the race, just why bother when this happens. I’m not gonna qualify but 0 points isn’t gonna help me either!

Manufacturers - Dragon Trail Seaside - Viper Gr. 4

TIL It's Dragon tRail, not Dragon Tail.
Anyways, the first 2-3 laps were... Interesting. I think someone got punted at that sharp turn before the bus stop, and punted person got in my path as I was turning. Ouchy. Few mishaps here on my end (and nervousness), and I went from 4th to 11th. I claw my way back to 5th, pit, and then start to win penalty points from cutting corners (due to nervousness). I lose a position or two. In the end, I finish in 6th place and earn 1118 points. I'll gladly take that! :D

I recognized some of y'all from here, sooooo hi! :gtpflag:

Yeah, my inconsistency could not only be the cause of my own loss, but others too
Ah yes, I did consider that myself too, until I figured out how to drive the kart

Unlucky man, was in the same lobby as you and didn't get booted. But a couple others did.

Ended up winning the race too in an epic finish. First win in Nations Cup in the top rank lobbies. Stoked.
Sounded like I missed out on a fun race
About how many got booted if you remember?
"Good" to know it's not just me

Well that wasn't as bad as expected. Yesterday I expected around 15th in the manufacturers and complete death in the nations. Turned out to be 8th in the manufacturers and 6th in the nations, not season winning results but I'm happy. The kart race was the most intense race I've ever done, none stop on the edge of crashing battling for 23 minutes (check out @Tidgney stream)! Some minor bumps here and there but with the relaxed penalty system and clean drivers we didn't have crazy penalties and so it was a great race. Got pushed off by the same Finnish guy who has been posted here before, but thankfully he got spun out while blocking someone else (karma).

It was me, bro. Not sure if I was hit or not, definitely surprised the car wouldn't brake so there must have been a love tap from somewhere plus draft effects.

Second lap I did get rear ended there and into the wall again. Third lap pushed off into the grass on a straight.

6th to last to 15th. Very disappointed to miss out on my first 1000+ points finish. Walked away with 399...

Ugh I hate this fuel mileage stuff, as if driving with automatic transmission wasn’t a disadvantage already, now it can kill a decent run, especially in Gr.4.

I got two nonsense 4 tenth penalties at Dragon Trail. One of them I’m pretty sure I got after swerving to the right of the frontstretch avoiding someone who went off track, maybe it was penalizing me for crossing the pit line? And the other one I also seemingly got for driving straight incorrectly.

In the end I didn't race. My practice got worse and I was doing 59s
Someone telling me they couldn't move their arms after the race didn't help me motivate myself either :scared:

Fellow Scooby racer, I can't emphasize enough the importance of manual transmission in any racing game. And the WRX hits max power way before the redline. So just that alone helps with fuel Plus you can brake better with engine braking and also avoid unnecessary shifts when taking weird lines and stuff.

Honestly I think going manual is the most effective way to improve lap times and racecraft.

You're already fast and used to the game so you'll catch on quickly.

Also I tried Tgidney's TC1 idea out and it helped with the tires.

I ruined my race on the first lap and then had the rest of it ruined for me by being punted twice but it's the most confident I've felt in the WRX Gr4 since this all began.

I’ve tried manual multiple times over the years, I just can’t do it. My mind is incapable. I can sometimes do it for a few laps but as soon as I mess up or go off track I can’t get back into it. Real life is different since it’s a lot easier to push pedals with both feet, shift, and steer at the same time, than it is to push r2, l2, the analog stick, square and circle (or l1 and r1) at the same time on the controller.

I’m the same with chase cam. I can’t race unless I can see all 4 corners of my car.

I’d only manage if every race was done with the Raptor.

I had a really fun and competitive Nations Cup race with @hellZfirE and others. I'm uploading the direct replay to GT Sport and will feature the race on my YouTube channel when I get the chance.
