Only had time for one race last night, so did the manufacturers... The less said the better.

I told myself that I was only doing Nations until I got an okay result. This was meh but I escaped with my SR intact so I wasn't taking my chances.

First Manu race was a long awaited win. Therefore, I did the combo two more times. 2nd attempt started out great and then the game decided to do something weird after the pit stop. Things got wacky after that.

Final try was a philosophical debate on whether a 3 stop was better than 2. Unfortunately for me, it was but not by much. A bit better planning and I might've pulled it off.

Thank you for that. That was fun to watch and learn from.

We're meant to be together man, you and I can't stop giving the love punts to each other :)

Merry Christmas everybody. After a quick test on Barcelona for the next nations cup, those are the cars i've liked the most.
-Alfa 4C of course, so much speed in turns , very good driving sensation and precision.
- McLaren 650S , very safe and fast , excelent grip and a decent top speed. Also a real pleasure to drive. I think it ill be my choice for the race.

Did a first qualy at Catalunya, in the Scirocco: 1:53.206
Next, jumped in the Viper. First lap was a 1:53.0. Second lap, 1:52.2xx.

That's nice and all, but Tyre wear is 10x. The Scirocco is BoP'd at 330hp/1050kg(something like that). Meanwhile, the Viper is BoP'd at 398hp/1398kg.

9 right-handlers and 6 left-handers? Do I gamble on rear wheel drive out of the slow corners or lighter weight to offset the distance on a set of tyres? I'll soon find out in a few minutes.

I don't recommend any FF cars on this track with that much tire wear. Those right handers will KILL the front left. I think MR is the only way to go for this particular race. The 4C is super OP when it comes to tires, so either that or the Cayman, but even the Cayman can't match the tire wear advantage of the 4C. I would put mediums on the front and softs on the rear, then all softs for the 2nd stint. Pit lane is long here too, so don't pit too late or the undercut will become very real. Even if you choose FR, I think the mix of mediums up front and softs in the back is a good choice.

I did good in the Scirocco, MSX and Viper just then. Only problem in the Scirocco, was getting bumped off by cars that just pitted.
I was hastling a Megane and GT-R and this Cayman came along was too impatient. It was trying to stay ahead of a GT-R that pitted at the same time.

The NSX is great. No doubt, went much longer on the softs. I got bumped off by a slower TT. Had a respectful battle with a silver/bright green GT-R and a another GT-R with a Bathurst GT3 livery.

The Viper was solid. Was keeping pace with an M4 and actually, was handling better than it. Decided to do the undercut. Got held up by a really slow and blocking Vodafone TT.
Finally got past it and came up on a Cayman, that saw I was on fresh tyres and let me by easily.

The main factor is, the people you're racing.

Nations went pretty a-OK, with my highlight being that I qualified 5th with FAR less practice than Tokyo. Some bits of my failures and Akane_Meister diving into me slightly too far behind and a random 0.5 second penalty for running too wide and it's a pretty good result! Finished 7th with 1196 points. Strategy employed is 4S/6S. Oh and I saw @Taichi Yagami for probably the first time on the grid, so hello!

I did Manufacturers earlier and I'm getting better at Tokyo South Outer with a 1:31.6 in an M6 on Mediums. And the lobby I'm in is just Top Split class...well not really, but all of us are at around the 50K DR mark with 90-99 SR to our names. Come to the qualy and an incident occured on one of my out laps, so I have to pit again and got a 1:32.6 to put me in 11...oh wait, I have to settle for 12th. Come to the race and I ended up employing a 2-stop strategy with mixed tyres for the start! Unfortunately, burning fuel means a short refuel to survive Tokyo, and in the end I finished 11th for 914 points, plus being not only the only non-Japanese and BMW driver on the grid, but also being the only one to get a red S due to the shunts from a WRX, an NSX, and a ZENT FT-1. Dauble-Weapon with his Valdemer_tana designed Kingdom Hearts FT-1 was on fire in this race, setting flat-out ultra-fast lap times!!

The main factor is, the people you're racing.

yeah in a way you're right, outside of the top lobbies it won't matter as much because the pace is not usually optimal, so plenty of cars can be competitive if most of the guys racing are multiple seconds off the top times. So it seems like a lot of cars are competitive when the overall pace is slower. Same reason why non-meta cars can often work well outside of A+/S lobbies on certain tracks where one car dominates the top 10. As soon as at least half the drivers in the lobby are A+ though, that changes and certain cars just cannot be competitive unless everyone else makes large errors. Certain aliens can accomplish amazing feats with lots of different cars, but it's still pretty well known that certain tracks, with the right tire wear and fuel settings, allow for one or two cars to shine brighter than the rest.

Nations. Coming out of the hairpin on lap 8. Guy who was on pole and I think in 10th at the time cuts and plows me straight into the wall. 1 second penalty time for him. I'm actually shaking with rage.

PS this absurd tyre wear thing PD is doing needs to go.

anyone else get booted on lap 11 of the tokyo south outer loop race...or was it just me?, lost nearly 1500points from DR and an SR Drop from 99 - 75 ffs

I'm trying to get in to the 20:10 Manufacturers race right now and there's PSN issues: https://status.playstation.com/en-GB/

Ed - I'm in, with 1:30 to spare. Fully expecting to either get booted during qualifying or be one of three people to finish the race.

Ed 2 - 19 in the loading screen down to 15 in the lobby...

Ed 3 - Lost another one during qualifying. Starting 2nd, so I assume a good chance for me will be taken from me.

Ed 4 - 2nd. Ugh.

Hope they fix it before 9.00 for a go ..
P.D.

Nice nation race today with my EU account.
1st race with the McLaren 650S , wonderfull car, a shame that the tire wear is horrible , even with brake balance +2 driving cool lines.... no way to make 5 laps on mediums , 4 and 5th were very slow. front left was out after 3 laps.

2d race with the Alfa, perfect for 5 laps medium tires, good speed, good fight and a win.
I will race the alfa for sure tonight last slot on south america main account.

I will not race my south america account anymore. :guilty: I just can do one race at the last time slot because of my job and today after a good first half , i've been rammed out by a Kamikaze that for sure had some races already behind today.
With this new rules and the fact you can race several times , a lot of stupid people even in top rooms don't care to ruin your race , most are just interested to do their best position of the night.
So i will race only the EU account , at least i will have the chance to do a good fun race. This is very frustrating.
Bye bye brasil. I'll be back if they put back the old system again only.

MFG had a crazy bug where you couldn't apply brakes going into the hairpin if serving a penalty... finished 20th for 0 pts in my first race as a result where i was expected 3rd... gg DR lol.

I experienced that too. Ran right into the barrier.

Nations room had some good points. Managed a good result and went to manu. Only did this race once.

Manu I did it 3 times. Both times the scoring was low, but the result was the same in all 3. The most entertaining race was this one below. I almost started in last with no qualy lap, was making mistakes and getting block all laps. Then on the last one I had to burn a 1.5s pen on the zone, luckily didnt start at the back. Race was chaotic but pretty fun.

I should start posting my races as well. Guess I'll start with these.

Pretty standard race, really. I think Monster-Sport would have better been able to challenge me, but he made the mistake of putting on Medium tires by accident. I only did this first round because I thought this would be the highest point lobby (2,000), but the one right after was worth more. Oops!

I did a Manufacturer's round earlier and got third, but this race was worth more for me despite finishing fourth, so, regrettably, I have to share this dumpster fire. I think the initial 5 second penalty from the first incident got me pretty fumed, but the extra 5 second penalty I got for tapping Dez right before the braking zone set me over the edge. I think Deafsun, Lester and Windfire got to hear enough of my complaining about this race

Thankfully 1600 isn't the worst result ever, but I knew my pace that race was worth more than fourth. I initially pinned my blame on Slinger because I felt I was barely ahead enough to have control over the chicane (that and I figured he kinda knew that he'd have to cut back and thus run into me if I didn't outbrake myself), but I apologized to him later because I was very passive aggressive with my problems. All in all, my SR fell to 80 and I had to pick up food during the fourth time slot so I couldn't get my SR back up in time for the final slot, hence not being able to improve my result.
