Entered both races on Wednesday.
Decided to go with the NSX in the Nations. The quali lap was ok but I overshot the hairpin a bit which probably cost me a couple of positions. The race was quite boring, was basically in No Man's Land for the whole thing, but the result was decent.

Manufacturers didn't go so well. I was blocked on my 2nd last lap and on the last lap I bottled the chicane so I was stuck with my banker, my optimal suggested I could've started 12 positions higher. After some pushing and shoving all around on the first lap, I found myself down the inside of someone going into the chicane, unfortunately I broke too late, and to avoid the car in front I didn't turn in, basically ruining the races of myself and the car I was alongside. After that I was basically alone for the whole race till the last couple of laps where I gained a couple of positions.

I'm trying to be more active here, so I might as well share this. I started 7th in Nations on Weds, and ended up finishing 1st. I'm glad I put in the practice beforehand.

That was a fun race my friend 👍 The top 5 was clean and competitive from start to finish. I just wish I had nursed those tires a bit better on the second stint and given you a better run at the end there lol but I had my hands full just keeping up...
Great pace in that race sir. Oh, and you got a new sub on twitch and YT btw

That absolutely was a fun race. I was certain you were going to take the whole thing after I served my penalty, but I just kept pushing either way. I was impressed with everyone we raced with as well. I am usually chatty even while racing on stream, but I was dead silent the last 3 laps just making trying to stay perfect. I really enjoy racing you KONTRAone.

Thank you for the kind words AND the sub/follow! Now you'll have to deal with hearing me shout your name every time we're in a lobby together

TyrannoCyrusRex is the best name ever btw.

You handle pressure fantastically. Good Race!
The Cayman's extra power did help but even I'm surprised how well I did. I just needed the car not to understeer that bad off that corner and I would've had it. Oh, well. I'm just glad that race was the first FIA race I streamed. :D

Just had a go in the Nations Cup race.
Qualifying is harder than normal - the tyres go off quite quickly, so I was only able to do 2 runs. It is harder to find a clear lap as other drivers kept falling off and rejoining in front.
In the race, turn 1 was a bit of a pile up - as you need to brake surprisingly early. Inexperienced drivers might try to brake at the same point as the car in front - which rarely works well into the first corner.
A fun race though, as plenty of opportunity to recover if you haven't qualified well. Remember to look after your tyres on the 5 lap stint!

Manu Cup was pretty good. Full grid of B/S. Qualy on RM, netted me 8th. Started the race on RH. Pitted on lap 4 to complete the race on RMs. Finished 4th. Vantage won and an F-type I battled with, no stopped for 2nd.

Wanted to join the nations cup today but don't have the car. Turns out it costs 3.6 mil and they don't lend the car. I don't get why such a restriction would be made on the FIA races. Its not even a paywall, its a grindwall. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or not getting it.

It has the same brakes as a Gr3 car, you are just taking immensely more speed into corners as it has a billion BHP
Sounds like it should have better brakes then ;)

Anyway, 4th in the McLaren, arguably could have been 2nd, 819 points, which I'm pretty sure is my second highest points total in an FIA race. Didn't spin or go off once. Up 1.2k DR. What a performance.

Bought a P1 yesterday. Racing it today at Nurburgring GP. I'm sure it will end well. :boggled:

I feel that they took this into consideration because they made only the top 3 of 8 results count. Usually it would be 4 for 8 races. Very likely not, but it's food for thought.

S

It's slower by about 3 seconds :p. I'd only do it if I'm in some weird situation.
I think some of us would lose more than 3 seconds tbh

I couldn't tell if people were no-stopping or went for an undercut in my race but some must have done. Thanks

Practiced grid starts all morning. Forgot to practice slowing down for the 1st turn.

Started 5th. Awesome grid start. Next thing I know I'm in the sand. Down to 12th. Climbed back up. Back to 5th. Imagined for a second I was Nico_R. Then the voice of reason kicked in and said "change your damn tires stupid". Only lost 1 spot. Finished 6th. Honestly can't believe I finished the race in that car.

Early days, but did not expect to set that time.
The FZ being like ghtweight, helps. The gearing and time between shifts, are actually a blessing.
There's way more in it. No doubt, a fast player than me, can get this thing to boogie.

Edit: "They" are out to get me.
Shaved 0.3 seconds.

I had a very, very lucky race where I managed to get pole off a 2:12.7 which would've been elsewhere in just about any other top split. Because of that, I was given ample room to make use of a Medium no stop, which worked out perfectly to give me the victory. That being said, KONTRAone completely deserved the win for how amazing his pace was.

Did Nations twice, the video is from my first try. I struggled with this car a lot, absolutely hate how bad the brakes are. Not my car.

At manu I knew it would be tough, a high tyre wear track is never a good thing for the Vantage gr4. Did the race twice, this is my second try.

One of the early races not on my stream. I only had one flier which I botched at one corner. That nudged me into taking a different strategy.

Not sure if there's any point of posting my 20 second Nations Cup win.

It's actually pretty funny, North America still gets between 1900 and 2300 points on lobbies which is not that much different from the final season. Imagine if they kept the regions together and allowed multiple attempts. We'd be regularly seeing 2400+ lobbies in the Americas no problem. Such a shame.

That goes without mentioning how much we miss racing with each other.

Entered both races last night
First off was Nations. The quali lap was clean but nothing special, and it put me mid pack. Lost quite a few positions on lap 1 and then had dropped off from the main pack so decided to risk a no stop, but unfortunately couldn't keep the car on the track for the last few laps.

Quali for the manufacturers wasn't great for me, got a penalty on my 2nd lap which meant I was stuck with my banker which was not so good. Tried the no stop again, worked better than in the Nations, unfortunately a penalty part way through probably cost me a few positions

Just a question to guys like @Tidgney and @kie25 about the open lobbies they open up on the weekends (like fun races, FIA practice and the lot)

At what times do you usually start that kind of thing? I've been watching the streams a lot the last few weeks and I keep forgetting what time you guys are online for that. Too busy watching all the racing. :)

And I'm flattered but you earned that win man. Making those mediums last 7 laps with solid pace is no joke... Mine were shot on the 4th lap and my second attempt to no-stop on hards was even worse.

The points can be pretty good on this side but I've also seen them dip as low as 1500's in top split lobbies so I guess it's not always guaranteed.
And I too miss the old America's region and our friends south of the border :( the racing was intense and the matchmaking was infinitely better.

That is true, I can only specify which is better from my perspective but that gets amplified with some strategies as sometimes you have to drive safer, and others harder. But then it's totally driver dependant so could be anything for anyone :P.

If I'm honest I normally (I say normally we've only done 2) on Sundays (Funday Sunday). If I do any others it's normally after an FIA event, and then the final race in that lobby is usually wreck-fest/destruction derby for anyone to either vent anger or just have fun. In the new year I'm going to try run 1 every month at some point but again as I say to most people it's timing :(. I work Monday-Friday and FIA is Wednesday and Saturday so only Sunday is the real free day for anything gaming related but I want to experience the real world to on weekends haha!

I can't answer for Kie personally but he's usually doing FIA practice lobbies and open lobbies quite a lot more.
