Got this from a discord I'm in. Three tweets in total, worth a look. Team McLaren not doing too hot![]()
I got the win in a DR A/B crossover lobby. Good for 1268 points, easily the most points I've ever gotten.
I nailed my qualy lap, only 1/10th off of my best practice time. I started P2, myself and P1 pulled ahead of the rest after the first few laps. P1 was actually a local rival, him and I usually fought for 1st in the local region back when I raced in the Nations Cup.
It looked like I was going to settle for P2 which I would have been happy with anyways, but then for some unknown reason, ending lap 5 P1 pulled into the pits! I was shocked. I guess he went in just out of habit. I asked him after the race and he said he didn't know it was a no-stop......very strange, did you not noticed your tires were almost perfect? A gift of a race win, but I'll take it. Good start to the season getting into the top 100, but really I know I'll just be dropping from here.
It also looks like alot of the top drivers jumped off the VW train for some unknown reason which is a real shame, we finished 7th in the preseason . We really don't have anyone in EMEA it looks like and they really carried us in the pre-season. Slent went over to Mazda. If he knew Akagi was staying with them it was a smart tactical move by him TBH. Akagi nearly carried Mazda into the top 12 by himself, so him and Marzan joining him is going to make Mazda a real threat.
Hopefully SVDR sticks with VW, he told me he "couldn't race this season", I'm not sure if he just meant stage 1 or the entire season. I heard talk of StinkyBug in NA leaving but it looked like he was still signed but did not race the first one. I'm not sure about the Asia and Oceania regions but in EMEA, CSA, and NA we didn't have anyone in the top split.
Hopefully that was just people sitting out round one to see who signs where.
@KONTRAone where have you been, VW needs you!

If I had more time I'd have replaced the bat symbol with a VW logo, but oh well.
StinkyBug was pretty unbeatable I think for all the other A+ drivers racing for VW so that’s why everyone else left. Cavzee is still racing for VW, he was in my lobby on Saturday, but DadSleeper who was in VW in the preseason is now in a Peugeot, and I went to Mitsu.

Ahem, this is him:If he knew Akagi was staying with them it was a smart tactical move by him TBH.
It's the suspension. Best in the game. Handles curbs, bumps, all that, supremely.Did some practice with the Lexus RC F GR.4 last night and holy crap, that is the best that car has handled ever at yamigawa. I've never been able to keep the throttle pinned going into those uphill esses before but now, the thing is so planted its easy. Feel like if I get qualifying right, that might be one of my best Manufacterer Races for this season. Even when the tires were finally wearing, it still was planted.
The Genesis is awesome at Nurb GP. I was wiping the field with that last year. Coming from mid-pack, players did not think it was that quick.I can flat through there in the Genesis but it's a hairy one.![]()
I've read somewhere here that the Viper is now 1 second off the pace because of the new physics. Is this true? I want to get Dodge as the manufacturer but I might have to look elsewhere if I'm not going to be competitive in it![]()

Dodge especially the GR4 are bad now, just slow and no reason at all to pick them from what I've seen. Trying to use it and get results will just be depressing if you are anywhere near the top splits, same with anyone who dared to pick Citroen.
I agree on the base point regard, truthfully base points should be given in all ranking levels (with amounts/percentage increasing with rank of course). No one should walk away from a race with 0 points unless they manually disconnect from the race IMO, feels really deflating if an accident occurs and you've wasted near an hour just trying to catch up to not end up in 20th place.Just to add another talking point to how damaged the point system is:
I watched Gumball's stream of one of the NA top split races at Interlagos. I got 1268 points for winning the A/B crossover lobby, as a B driver(100 points away from being A though). I got more points than P12 in the top split, despite having a qualifying time .8 seconds slower than last place in the top split.......
I guess over the course of a season things balance out, and why only 1/3-1/4 of races count, but still. I think the top 3 splits at least should be on some sort of base point system or something, like mix the top 3 splits up more. So people get a random chance at winning the lower races for slightly less points instead of getting shafted in the top split.
For example, if there was a large multiplier or base points awarded, what is to stop me from increasing my DR high enough for top split, just to earn the points for placing 20th? I wouldn't even have to try, just set my DR appropriately and enter the race...boom points. It's much easier to increase your DR by doing daily races then it is through FIA.
