I know I'm in lowest low rooms (5 pts for the win this go round) but a Q2 and P4 with fastest lap after being booted and banged around quite a few times made me feel good. I was P12 after the 2nd lap, pitted on lap 4 just to get away from people. It worked I guess, they seemed a lot slidier(?) toward the end.

PD's choice of car doesn't force people to ram and side swipe the competition off the track on purpose. Driver decision is responsible for that.

Sure, ultimately that's what it comes down to. But PD didnt help anything with the car choice. Like you said yourself, it was sloppy in addition to everything else. Really, a lot more people should've decided not to run the race once they felt the car. But a new car that's tricky to control, being used with minimal practice is going to bring out the worst in some people - sloppy, aggressive driving.

Congrats man, great race!

Hahaha thanks man. I tried again, pff. Never been booted so hard for 12th place in my life. Good for them. 12th is an accomplishment. Reminded me why I rarely play sport mode. I'll probably try again later. Hopefully the censored will be less.

Great fun, sadly with everyone’s irrational fear of slidey road cars (aka what Gran Turismo has always been about since PS1 and what it does better than any other game) the top 3 splits of NA were forced into one, so I was mired in the teens.

I managed to start the race in reverse (which is a first) but somehow managed to only lose about a second because a guy behind me ran into me and gave me a boost back up to speed, then had a few minor contacts, but still got the clean race bonus! Good old glitchy GTS methodology.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the 2nd nations cup race tonight. Turned out to be one of the most fun tightly contested races in a while. I was in a A/B lobby and the top 10 were pretty much fractions apart. I quallied 7th and the race was the cleanest Ive seen in a while. Finished 6th, Ill take it! was nose to tail in a pack of 4 cars and it was great to be a part of it. Great race to all very clean

In the couple of tests I did pitting anything from L4-L6 definitely provided a big advantage towards the end of the race as other cars started to slide around more, it was just a case of whether it could be made to work with potential traffic and it looks like you got it to work for you. Fair play 👍

Did the 2nd slot of Nations Cup here on CSA region and my god, it was the most stacked lobby i've ever been so far. McQueen, Bernal, Loyrot, Bonelli, Hellzfire and many more. Needless to say, this being my 5th FIA race so far, i was sweating bullets when i saw the loading screen. Despite that, i somehow managed a very decent P4 on qualifying! Couldn't believe it when i saw it. I got a nice slipstream from Bonelli though, it's so good to follow a fast player, usually i get stuck on traffic and get an even worse time than a no-slip lap, but with this grid, i had to go for the slip if i wanted to have any chances of a good result.

Looking good on the grid :D

However, i know keeping that P4 would be a tough ordeal with Loyrot and Hellzfire behind. During training i noticed my pace on the first half of the race was good, but i was struggling with tires at the end of the race (just a note, i'm playing these FIA races with the controller, since my wheel pace is still a good second or so behind my DS4 pace, so i have to do it to keep up with the pack).

First lap went good, managed to secure my position, fell briefly to P6 but managed to recover it with a cut-back on the uphill right hander. As the race went on, a miss-shift had me down to P5, and eventually P7 after i lost the slipstream from Hellz. However, right in front of me, Loyrot and mamajara were fighting intensely, and as i expected, an accident happened and i got back to P5. That would be an amazing result to me, and i was around 5s ahead of Loyrot by the end of the first half of the race, but guess what? He and mamajara managed to pass me at the last lap! :indiff: Unfortunate, but not surprising, i was struggling to keep the car on road and was seeing the delta drop each lap. Still happy with the result, 7th on this lobby got me as many points as my 1st place on my last top split race, lol.

Really looking forward to get up to pace on the wheel, i feel like i plateau'd on the controller. By my experience, tire wear is indeed worse on the DS4, and i'm not sure but brake distance feels shorter on the wheel too. However, keeping the car on track is harder, there's definitely some hidden assists on the controller to smooth things out. Things are way more wild on my T150, but with time i'll sort it out. Cheers everyone

This car is something else and it showed in the lobby I was in. The race fortunately ended rather well for me, despite the guy in 5th refusing to give up his position and would block me whenever I was coming up beside him. Super annoying. But I managed to pass him on the final hairpin on lap 11 and he came in 14th. In the post-race chat, a couple of people were understandably not happy with their results. Quite a bit of carnage happened in the lower positions after seeing the replay.

Is bump drafting legal at BMB again?
In other words, no more sr down for getting hit from behind?
I have no idea. I do know, I don't see the orange arrow when contact is made with another car. Still doesn't mean a player won't get an SR down.

Edit: My cats knock out my Playstion plug with 1m40s to go. Have to wait another hour and twenty.:banghead:

I'm a firm believer in knocking the cat out with a length of steel rod, all they do is restrict the exhaust anyway.

Edit- joking of course, I don't mind cats at all.

We bump drafted at Tokyo like crazy and never got a single SR down. :)

This was my best practice run last night(in the Jag), I ran out of fuel in the final corner on the first two, once while in the lead. I used FM2 and short shifted the entire first stint and made sure to stay in the draft/not to be in the lead. Then it’s flat out for the final stint and don’t change tires, it’s worth about 3.5s in the pits. :)

That's actually really really helpful. Your lap times when fuel saving in the slipstream are basically identical to when you're out in front on your own. Making the pit stop as short as possible is the key to doing well, and if you manage to break the slipstream to cars behind you when you come out you're laughing.

The other key is making sure you do calculate the fuel correctly, as I perfectly demonstrated how not to in that race

I'm looking forward to this one, which probably means it will go terribly :)

I've decided to actively participate on the Fia season today, since the new start timers fit way better my married life, and chose Toyota as a Manu. I really want to drive that 86. Dunno why.
I've also made the decision to next Season, when we can select another Manu, to go with either Mitsubishi or Subaru. I know they suck to be on pace with the top dogs, but GT was about "dem ching chong cars" on the beggining. I'll just lose DR, but I hope I can keep up on A+ lobbies without falling to the bottom of the grid

Anyway, BMB today. gonna see if the Supra holds on, with the fuel saving on the first part, then going for the full sprint.
Hope to see some of you guys there :gtpflag:

Manu was a waste. Qualified 4th, but 2nd disconnected moving me up to 3rd. Race started okay until about T2 & T3. Then, the squeezing happens. It's a long race, people just don't get it. I took myself out by pitting lap 6. Pit again lap 14. an AMG GT wants to keep fighting when we are 10 seconds from the leader. Just bump draft so we can catch the train. Anyway, it hits the wall on its own and I have nowhere to go. I get jammed while the MAG gets a bump-boost in speed.

Well, anyway, wanted to get into the top 10 before next Nations race(optimum was a 27.646). I can go to sleep satisfied.

Was confident I’d do well and delivered! :) It’s just that hope that everyone plays fair! Hung around the back of the front pack of 6/7 cars. Saved fuel flipping between map 2 and 3. Ended up getting an extra 2 laps over everyone else before needing to pit. Came out back in the lead with a 3 second gap and didn’t get caught! 👍

Just got disconnected again. Thats the 3rd time in the last 3 races. DR is taking a massive hit! 🤬 But while i was running in around 6th place (qualified 6th) after 9 laps i can say that there were a few drivers who still felt the need to put you into the wall!

Big hand to @Pigems for the strategy. First go round was a disaster, second one was more of the same but the leading group fought too much so I was 3-4 seconds behind when everyone else had pitted, came out with a 458 half a second behind me and nobody else anywhere near me. Might have another go at this tbh, none of the clowns at this level seem to have a clue how to race on an oval.

Got my Brands Hatch FP time down to 27.595(Optimum 27.464). 10th in a 4C, is at 27.576. I'll open a Lobby, for Free Practice on Saturday(one at 10:30-11:30 and the other from 15:30-16:30) and then, race time. :)
