The PS4 text entry system allows for capital letters, all sorts of punctuation, and even has a text autocomplete function with a real dictionary - so there's little reason to skip capital letters, punctuation, and use words like "gon".

I just wanna make you a cup of tea and tell you it's all gonna be OK.

VICTORY!!! After going into this race not really expecting anything and seeing I was car 18/20 was hoping for a top 10 finish at best. With a decent qualifying lap (nothing spectacular mind you) managed to start 7th. At the start the R8 in front of me got a poor exit out of paddock hill and got the move done for 6th into the hairpin. With 2 other cars making a mess of Graham Hill bend I was in 4th and in slipstream range crucially. A small incident lap 3 between the top 2 cars slowed them and 3rd down and somehow managed to get into first place. Pitting for hards lap 6 and mediums lap 9 all while short shifting in the Porsche to eek out a bit of extra time in the pits managed to take home a victory and the first in ages in an FIA event aswell.

Can't stand tea.

I had a weird old race, which started in qualifying. Swedish guy in a 911 appeared to let me past on the run into the final corner starting the Q-lap, but then swerved across the track onto the racing line... still slowly, so I went up the inside and he just straight turned into me. Of course then we had to run down the straight to start our laps, I caught him and again went inside, and he again straight turned into me. He went off, I get a 2s penalty. Got enough time to fuel burn and tyre save for a second run at it and qualified okayish in 12.

Race starts, everyone starts falling off on hard tyres and I'm up in ninth along with a Brit ahead of me by the name of PLEBTASTICO... One of the asshats who fell off at the start decides he can just send it rather than moderating his braking for pack driving and literally hits me three times, twice into PLEB. Rejoin in 19th.

Simply ran an 8H/5M/3S strategy from there, with 35l taken at the first stop to go for a softs splash-and-dash on the second...

... but guess who I came out behind after my first stop? Swedish 911! And guess what he did? Yep, turned in on me in turn four! No penalty this time, thankfully.

Had a good race with another Mazda driver, an Italian called TiaBorsa82. He was clearly faster, but we were nose-to-tail or side-by-side for pretty much a third of the race all in. Ended up passing him through him being held up by the asshat I mentioned earlier (and the asshat also tried to take him out in the final turn) and another Italian in a Lexus who was glitching all over the shop. I also think I was better on worn tyres (or tyre wear), because I was making big gains nearer to the pit stops. Finished 6th and 7th - and if neither of us had been lap 1 punted, there would have been a podium in it for both.

Had a black screen for the first time on Nations series:
-at start of hotlap couldn’t see anything. The car was drivable, but the road had disappeared. Had to quit, loosing points .

If that happens just back out of the Q session and then re enter the track again and it should be cleared up, it does that is regular lobbies too at times.

I think I spoke too soon. I just did a @pantherjag style test of running a 1 stopper and then a 2 stopper against the AI. 1 stopper was 7M/7S and the 2 stopper was 4M/5S/5S. The finishing times were EXACTLY THE SAME

A 2 stopper will put you in traffic but you can push the tyres a lot more. I'm sure anyone who's better at conserving tyres than I am will find a 1 stopper quicker, but good to know there's a different strategy that could work. Not sure what to do now....
What was the time?! (Being nosey as we're similar ratings!!)

I've done one practice in the Jag, I'm now realising I don't get the time I need to try out what I want and completely blame it on my one year old daughter! But hoping I can get on for a later one tomorrow after running 8S/6M, tyre wear isn't as bad on the Jag as I feared it would be so it throws open plenty of options as to when to pit

Holy mother of God, tonight is a bad one. Got ready for the 1st slot, even beat my record in the 10 minutes free practice before the race(1.22.7) - was very optimistic. Good matching, 1st on the door and recognised a few names who are clean. Got disconnected during matching...

2nd slot, lobby half A, half B - crap quali even if the pole time was within my usual reach(1.23.5). Started 14th, was going for 3H-7M-6S strategy but I got punted in the 1st lap. Like, not even some sort of braking or so. Lost around 16s till I got back, started pushing. Like always, when I got punted I always lose concentration and even I got up to 14th till end of the stint on Hards, I binned it 3 times after because pushing too hard. Finished last - 17th. Gonna go again.

This brings back memories from the last season race at Brands Hatch in the Mégane - even if I had the pace to get a top 3 in 4 from 5 slots I managed 5 X P13 due to getting punted or crashing myself. I am a monument of consistency...

I did a 1 stop and 2 stop test also in the Jag. I was 6 seconds quicker doing the 2 stop! Was all set for a 1 stop strategy!

I'd found 2-stopping to be about 5-6 seconds faster than a 1-stop when I tried it against the AI which is why I was intending to do it.

I was nervous after the suggestions that the 1-stop should be quicker but now I feel a bit more confident about the 2-stop if its not just me! 👍

Nations @ Brands Hatch
Nervous? Check.
Non-meta car? Check.
Disruptive tyre strategy? Check.

Outcome: Keep reading to find out! :D

I don't want to know how many practice laps of Brands Hatch I've done over the last few days. I ended up opting for the Subaru for this one. I was originally going to go for the Hyundai as the tyre wear seemed pretty good, but made a last minute change after finding my lap times were slightly better in the Subaru.

I was nervous as hell going into this one. The thought of16 laps of "DON'T MAKE MISTAKES" was really playing on my mind. Additionally, my parents had sent me a message just a couple hours before the race started to ask if they could drop by to see me as they were out. Nothing like an audience to add to the pressure. :scared:. It doesn't help that my dad has gained an interest in GT Sport after I showed him a little of the World Tour events at the end of last year either!

I managed to put in a decent qualifying lap and started P2. I slapped on the Mediums and off we go.

The start of race jitters got me and I went through turn 1 a little sideways. Then the Czech driver behind me used me as his brakes and punted me wide at Druids, which pushed me down a few positions. :irked:

He got his karma pretty damn quick though as he lost it on his own into Surtees!

Back up to P3 and right up the bumper of a French driver in a Renault and trying to chase down the Spaniard in a Renault that started on pole. The French Renault goes onto the grass briefly at Stirlings and I manage a switchback at Clark Curve - back up to P2.

Then the Spaniard lost it through Paddock Hill Bend at the start of lap 2 - P1! However there's a very aggressive Porsche on Softs right behind me. He gets up my inside before Hawthorns and I let him go uncontested. I just want to maximise the Medium stint, and if that means getting a tow from someone on Softs I'll take it! However, the French Renault was right there too and took the opportunity whilst I was slow.

Didn't take long for that to reverse though. He became unstable after Sheene Curve and I go past into Stirlings, but not without being hit by the Renault as he tries to stop it spinning and I almost lose it myself. :scared:

I pit on lap 6 and go onto the Hards. I jumped the Porsche in the pits as he took on some fuel whilst switching to the Mediums, but he got me into Surtees. If he wants to keep towing me whilst I'm on harder tyres, that's fine by me. He wasn't pulling away. :mischievous:

I pit in right behind him at the end of lap 10 for the Softs and jump him again as I take on less fuel. There's an Italian Porsche who jumped both of us though who had put on Hards and no fuel. He must have refuelled already and pushed really hard on his Soft and Medium stints.

I start chasing him down, but he lost control at Sheene Curve on lap 12. I retake the lead and pull out a lead against the Porsche who was towing earlier now that I have a massive tyre advantage as he's on Hards. Add in some fighting and collisions behind me and I comfortably win by 12 seconds.

131 points for the effort which is mind-boggling for someone who was overjoyed with 90 points just a month ago, and up to 27.5k DR. I'm so close to breaking into A-rank for the first time!! :boggled:

Used the Mustang my 1st race of the night.
Qualifying didn't go as planned, couldn't hit the apex's on the 1st hot lap, and caught up to traffic in 2nd, P11 for start.
Mayhem on 1st few turns, then to my eternal shame, I clipped a car on the 1st left, checked to see if I could let him pass but he had spun 🤬
Used 6S 8M 2H. Left pits final time in 12th. Two of the cars ahead span out, ended the race in 10th.
Sent a general apology, couldn't remember my victim. Think he was the one who called us idiots then left before I could apologise properly.
Going for the next one in the M6. Hopefully I'll stay out of trouble.

Perseverance. I qualified 10th in the RCF, and the GT Sport rolling start decided that it wanted all the cars piled up on the Start/Finish line in a massive scrapheap. A brief flash of opportunity as I dived to the left, but ultimately mid pack was no place to be, I got punted ending up facing the wrong direction and ended up in P20 before reaching the first corner.

Start of lap 2 and someone divepunts me on the first corner using my car as a brake from the straight. Lap 3 get punted at Graham Hill. Considered giving up. Decided you never know what might happen and I didn't want to lose more SR and DR for quitting. Given the quality of the driving I was seeing, the hope was to gain places by driving consistently.

Soft tyres had done a lot of off roading, so were gone quite early. I went to the mediums to try and get them to last as long as possible before reaching for the Hards. I didn't go onto hard tyres until the last 4 laps, and by that point I had managed to get ahead of the drivers who punted me, 2 of which were now battling each other behind me allowing me to stay ahead even on the worst compound.

On the last lap there were 2 cars battling ahead and I was in 11th, closing in hoping to match my qualifying position. I went for the outside of the final turn but the car I went to overtake had a good corner and the other one didn't, so I cut back to the inside of the straight and got past the slower one by half a car over the line, and picked up another couple of places after 20 second penalties were applied giving me a respectable 8th. After everything that happened I was really pleased with that!

Definitely not the tidiest race I've ever been in
Yeah, after watching the replay, lots of those crazy offs made sense. So many different strategies. I was surprised with those MR cars in the softs. Some of them just burner through the tyres.

I kept flipping back and comparing tyre wear with mine. The RC F had much better rear tyre life. So, I can how I was able to have good acceleration out of corners. When looking at my front tyre wear, yes, it was worse, but while I was racing, dish t even notice any understeer. Could have also been because of my fuel burn, keeping the car balanced.

Didn't realise you had run so long at the start and switched to RH, while I was catching up. Maybe you having so much fuel left was a factor. If it is a factor.

There was lots of lag. We all had five green bars, but it was a weird one.

Entered the 16:00 Nations in the WRX after finding confidence in my pace through FP and test lobbies. Personal fastest lap was a 1:21.466 set minutes before entering the lobby, which I was especially chuffed about considering that I initially only did the FP sessions for fun.

Was the only WRX on the grid, seeded 20th and sharing the same lobby as @Hasnain282 and @T_revisio. Started at the very back after completely messing up my qualifying run. Decided to begin my first flier while a couple of others in front pitted for new tyres, and got compromised while trying to negotiate through the pack. Aborted the lap after being blocked by an Italian Porsche at Sheen and pitted for fresh Softs. Trouble was that the people I had already passed were about to start their own laps, so I had no choice but to slow to a crawl on pit exit so that I didn't compromise them going down Paddock Hill Bend. This left me with no time to make my way round for another lap, the timer expiring while I was half-way down Brabham Straight. There was one other driver who did not set a time, but I can't remember exactly how he got in that position. A rather annoying situation to be in when a mid-to-high 1:22 was possible, but oh well.

Earlier this afternoon, I figured out that a two-stop strategy (6S-8M-2H) was achievable with careful fuel mix management and short-shifting throughout (mostly at between 7,000-7,500rpm). After my effective no-show in qualifying, my first thought upon returning to the lobby screen was to try a flipped strategy, getting rid of the Hards early before letting the softer compounds do their work. If it worked for Miyazono, perhaps it could work for me and the BTCC-style WRX.

Took me a while to get a groove during the first two laps, but stuck to the tail end group until l pitted for Mediums. Gradually worked through pit-stop cycles, incidents and penalties aplenty, eventually sitting in 13th by the start of Lap 8. This became 12th following a clean pass down Pilgrims Drop on a struggling PRST Porsche. Found myself in 6th a couple of laps later, ahead of T_revisio's pole-sitting Mazda, before taking on Softs and a top-up to 49% fuel. The final stint was more of the same, only this time while slotting into a train of Porsches fighting for 6th-9th places. Set the fastest lap of the race (a 1:22.648), almost binned the WRX at Sheen and followed the Italian up the inside of a Gulf-liveried 911 on the penultimate run through Druids. There was light contact between my left-rear wheel and the Gulf car on exit, but nothing too serious, and the road was clear enough for me to follow the remaining two Porsches home. 8th became 6th again courtesy of the final run of pit-stops, and the extra fuel I had allowed me to rev higher and push further. Not enough to gain any more places (despite a better run through Clark and the Italian running out of fuel just before the line), but enough for the WRX to come home with 221 points.

What I initially wrote off as an experiment turned out to be a faultless and satisfying run to redemption. Genuinely happy with my form this time around in spite of the qualifying disaster; the WRX feels perfect around Brands with its mix of aero and acceleration. And to be just under a second off the global fastest FP time (by the time I've typed this)? Superb.

Ended up using the M6 for my nations race. Did 6(S) 2(H) 8(M). I probably should have put the mediums on for the first stint. Could have maybe pushed for another lap in the softs too as i came out on the hards in traffic which held me up a bit.

Qualified 7th, and there were probably 8-9 normal top split-ish type people there (was going to say guys but emreeree was there as per usual....so I should pull my sexist head in). Rest were A rated drivers I’d not seen. So the points dropped off pretty savagely.

Anyway, was a really fun race but I ran out of fuel with maybe 100m to go and dropped from 5th to 6th....doh!!

Bring on the Manufacturers race today. Though I don’t know Fuji all that well I’ll admit.

Welp, that's seems to be my season gone.
Usually I'm in 2nd/3rd split (winner gets about 300-310 points).
Did my first nation's race today and somehow got a lobby almost full of D/S drivers. There were like 4 or 5 A and S rated drivers in it. Anyone knows why? My DR is still pretty much around where it was (61k).

EDIT: Forget it, my SR was down a bit

Bad night overall, but decent points in the end. Used the 911 in the end, as I could control it better with used tires - first set of races with TC0 in Group 3. The Citroen was a bit too sketchy on worn tires.

3rd slot, qualified in 7th but crashed by myself after. Finished 13th, only because of 2 drivers who did not use all tires. Shame of a race!

Then 4th slot, did a decent banker lap and it was going well in the 2nd one, but lost it at the last left hander. I started in 8th, but it could have been at least 6th.

Decided to play safe, started on mediums and did some fuel saving by slipstream and shortshifting. After 2 laps I was in 5th, but beginning of the 3rd lap a green Aston Martin rejoined track in front of me when I was chasing another car on the start straight. Managed to brake and avoid it, but we were side by side in T1, me on the outside and we traded paint. I managed to keep it on the track, he didn't and I got 4s penalty.

Served it then I was down in 10th. Some other drivers drama gave me a couple of positions so I ended the medium stint in 8th at the end of lap 7. Changed to Softs, put a splash of fuel to make sure I manage at least 6 laps till next pit and headed out.

Rejoined in 13th stuck in some trafic so I did a lap fuel saving and not pushing. End of the lap, a few cars in front pit and I get up to 5th. A red Lancer is in my back and is pushing hard, on the middle straight he gets my splistream, and at the end of it I decide not to battle, as any mistake would ruin a decent race. Last 2 laps of the stint I am in 3rd and at the end of lap13 we both go for Hards. Again, splash of fuel and off we go in the last 3 laps if the race. Rejoin in 6th, half a second behind the Mitsu, but make a slight mistake in the middle section which cost me 1 second. Being on Hards, and having a 9s gap from the guy behind, I decide not to push and settle for the 6th.

In the end is a decent result, 93 points on a track that I do not really enjoy. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

I think in 2nd slot matching didn't work properly. I also had half A/B lobby for the first time since I am doing FIA.

Great job! Going on in the M6 too. Thanks for the tip. I would do 8M-2H-6S .. saving Softs for last and see what happens... unless I decide to go out to diner before the race lol ... I tend to do Nations for fun and concentrate more on Manu Series.

So, my races today were horrible. I hate Brands Hatch and it showed.
My first race was in fourth slot. And it was basically worthless, as I was placed in a lobby full of D/S players alongside 4 or 5 other A/S players, as already said earlier. Finished P3 and got 63 points.

Then I had a go again in last slot and this time the matchmaking worked correctly. Just to show you how worthless the first race was: Had I finished in 20th in my last race, I would've gained 62 points, 1 less than my 3rd place than before. And thanks to leavers that wasn't even possible.

Qualifying went badly, only P17. My strategy was 3H/7M/6S.
Nothing special to mention, was in the back of the field the whole race, gained some places in my last stint on the softs to finish in P14, with 138 points. All in all a race to forget.

Been away from GTS because of all the dirty driving & cheating.
Decided to try out today day race because I was in a good mood after winning a few races on PC2.
Tried two races because I knew i could get a top 5 spot but I forgot about all the dirty drivers. Had the normal blocking in Q in both races.
Got P3 in Q was happy with that 1st corner was ok I saw the car Infront of my go wide so I left space because I know the car would rejoin with no control and it did I got hit by P4 driver just under the bridge but I managed to keep control so ok. Got to the 4th turn & P4 driver this time made sure I did not keep control hit me again but this time I ended up the other side of the temp barrier after that I remembered why I stopped play this game in open lobbies.
Second race I got P4, and it was like a repeat of the 1st race, it's like I am racing with either drunk drivers or people who don't understand you cannot win a race on lap 1 & if you have two cars Infront of you slowing down you need to brake earlier or you will hit them out the way.
I am just going to race in the FIA races since I no longer enjoy racing in this game.
As you can see not many people read the race rules per track or is it no one cares because you can still win even if you get penalties.

Karma hit me in the 2nd race.
M6 qualified 11th again, sat in pits for ages and still caught traffic.
I get nudged off at Hawthorn's and into the gravel on the opening lap. Now I can race at peace with myself, ha.
6S 2H 8M. The M6 grips & bites into the tarmac until the tyres are destroyed, lacks grunt out of corners, but that could be me. Finish 8th, some good clean battles.

Final attempt I went with the Jaguar. Similar in qualifying, however the car car I caught up to was fairly rapid, so for once I think the draught comes in handy and I a qualify 5th.
Race Start, all goes well until Surtees, I clip the curb too much and lose a lot of traction, had to let the whole train past, 16th. Job on !
Started on mediums hoping the 8 laps I could get out of them would push me up. 2 laps on hard then rest on softs and I was 10th at the chequered flag, due to 20 sec penalties for contravening tyre regs put me up to 8th, gave me highest points of the evening :)

The times I did first thing this morning were 24:16, both runs with a few mistakes and being held up by AI cars. However since then I've been able to work on the 1 stop strategy and can do sub 24:10

What I've found is that I actually get better race times pushing the tyres a bit more and then looking after them in the last 2 laps of each stint. That doesn't sound like it should work but seems to for me. It's likely I was being too conservative on my 1 stop runs before.

The 2 stopper is still much much closer than I initially expected though. I thought 1 stop would be a no brainer but I can see the viability of 2 stops. If 1 stoppers start arguing with each other and slowing themselves down then a 2 stopper could cut through the field Miyazono style :)

Only had time for the last stint today,my Qt was poor because of a guy in a Porsche RSR going slower and blocking me for two laps, then time was up.
Qualified as p8. Started on mediums and had a good first lap then spun on my own on lap two. Teared the tyres to shreds so had to change at L3 to hards. Ran hards to lap 12, then changed to softs. The last lap and a half I had a guy trying to pass me, flashing his headlights all the time. Does anyone actually think that will make me pull over??

Well, ended up at p11 in My Mustang with the Ricky Bobby "Me" livery. Ok pleased with the result.

Yeah it sounds backwards! You'd normally think pushing early would wreck the tyres and make it hard to extend the stint.

I didn't push hard on the run I did which was 24:10, I just wanted to be consistent and all laps on the softs were very much that, the stint on mediums was quicker! But that was probably down to lower fuel as well as having some in the tank to push the engine harder.

This new found technique I have to save the car seems to have destroyed my ability to wreck it in a couple of laps! Saving the fronts though keeps you pretty competent through the last sector and in the Jag, that means none of the GT86/Megane crew get any real chance of passing you

I'll try a two stopper at full tilt in the morning, then maybe toss a coin after a few pints at the football to see what I should choose!

One and done today.

I wasn't able to practice this combo much but luckily I'm pretty okay at Brands Hatch. I used the Lexus and qualified P7. I ran 4H/5S/7M. I probably should've run another lap on the softs but I'm still pretty bad at tire saving. The last lap on the mediums was pretty slidey for me and I lost a position because of it. All and all, I'm pretty happy with P6 and 30 pts. There were a lot of phantom penalties handed out this race. And not just to me, I saw quite a few random 1 sec penalties pop up above people throughout the race. Not sure what new crack PD is smoking this week.

The strategy couldn’t have worked better. 5th to 2nd in the first slot, 2nd split lobby for 235pts. Decided to use the Atenza at the last minute because it’s better on fuel than the Beetle and almost as good on tires. Used softs first, made some important moves early then stretched them for 8 laps while saving fuel. Picked hards next with no refuel and that was vital because it gave me clean air in a light car for one lap. Switched to mediums till the end and got lucky with some clean air again all the way till the last lap when the leader had to pit for hard tires and I barely got him for P2. Exciting beginning and end to a great race.
