Penalty system is more unfair than ever.
First turn at fuji is just a war. Just like any other turns there .
Who come behind you can bump or ram without any problem.
Even worst , when you're ramed by a car inside the turn but you don't go out of the road , you have a 2 sc penalty just because you've been rammed . People know this and use it the most dirty way. This is very bad for the game.
This is a crazy situation Mr Poliphony digital.
I have a fair solution for you .
Disconnect this stupid penalty system and set damages with a X10 time multiplier more than actually. Just like real.
Or better X10 if you're rammed or bumped and X20 if you're the protagonist.
It means that if you touch somebody , you're out of the race and will have to redoo another slot .... Eternally till you LEARN.
No way. This is a real cancer for this game.
I'm still playing because i'm just an addicted gt fan but i' m sure a lot are leaving the game because of this or not wanting to start to play gt because it just just look as a bad joke this way.
PLEASE MR KAZUNORI. Put this system in place till you resolve the penalty system a decent way.

This is the problem. This is the SR graph of one person who was ramming me. You can see that he used to struggle to maintain 99 SR, but now he never drops below 99 despite ramming people all race long:

Has anyone been having problems with the terms and conditions for the FIA races? I've had to accept them several times since this pre-season started. The message always pops up at the same place, and I don't know why.
Same thing here.

Is it bad I'm relieved to see I wasn't the only one with Fuji woes? One of the dirtiest FIA lobbies I've ever seen. I was spun TWICE by at best clumsy driving and at worst deliberate attempts to push others off the track. Also not helped by an Alfa Romeo weaving down the straight so I couldn't overtake them. As I rounded the final corner on the last lap I was somewhat amused to see 5 cars serving huge penalties that meant I actually finished 12th when it could have been even worse.

I want to race again as I have decent race pace here, but I really hope the next lobby has some element of decent drivers.

I absolutely sucked in the SLS Mercedes at Fuji. I just could not get it to turn and brake as I did in my practice laps, even allowing for tyre degradation. Qualified 14th finished 18th, went way way wide at the 90 degree right hander before the final twisty hell turns and got reset to track.
As I started from the back end of the grid I started on mediums BB 2 to the rear, did 8 laps then switched to softs, only needed fuel for 1/2 a lap to complete race.
Going try alternate account for next race, I'm signed to Aston for that account, see if I can do any better.

I'm not hopeful for the next lobby. The problem is everyone has 99 SR, so the entire premise of segregating the good sports from the bad sports has gone.

Done 1 race and thats me done for the night. The BMW M4 sucks on fast paced tracks, it gets constantly out paced on long straights. You over take someone through the corners and then they just zoom right passed you on the straights.

The person whose SR graph I posted wasn't in the next lobby, which made a huge contribution to improving it. There was still some terrible driving. In qualifying, I started my flying lap behind the driver who would end up on pole. I closed up the gap down the first straight, but lifted off to stay behind them, as I don't feel it's fair to use the slipstream to overtake someone in qualifying. Just sit behind them, as you'll beat their lap time anyway, just by virtue of having had a gap that you've closed. Unfortunately, the two cars behind me didn't see it the same way and insisted on trying to overtake me, so we ground to a halt. The other two got into a tit for tat ramming contest with each other, on their flying laps! If the three of us had just sat behind the car ahead, we'd have been 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the grid. Instead, I was 16th. I decided to start on mediums, but made a major mistake when I pitted and went onto mediums again!!!!! Still, I got up to 6th by the end this time. Still got shoved out of the way by someone who had shoved me out of the way in the previous race. I didn't retaliate and overtook him down the final straight. I guess I'll be going again, to see if I can manage a race that doesn't go quite so horribly wrong.

I should stop streaming :D I mean I have no viewers anyway so :P
First race on stream, had a good qualifying and started in P6, ultimately finished in P11. Due to lags I stopped the stream there.

Second race, had an awful qualifying and only reached P15. Had excellent race pace though and finished in P4. 258 points in the bag. Will definitely not go again today :D

I was dreading this race after reading all the horror stories. Thought I’d done a decent lap in qualifying but only put me 10th. Decided to do a 4S/6M/4S strategy. Started well but managed the special trick of my finger slipping off the left stick coming out of the final corner so lost control and went onto the grass losing all my speed for the straight. :O

Came out the pits in 10th on fresh Softs which paid off as I managed to catch and pass 3 cars by the end, taking 7th on the final corner.

I did see first hand someone exploiting the penalty system. Watched as a Renault in front didn’t even touch the brakes heading into turn 1, using someone else to stop his car, gaining 3 positions and receiving no penalty.

Manufacturers @ Fuji
From a great race yesterday to a very frustrating one today. I think I was in the same lobby as @Famine too. I didn't see your incident where you got pushed over the kerb at the last bend, but I see from the replay that I was only a second or so in front of you when it happened. Why you got a penalty for that is beyond me.

My qualifying was completely ruined by a McLaren. He got the tow from me down the main straight, then compromised my lap into turn 2 and got past through the long right-hander. On the second flying lap, I was following him all the way through and hoping to make up for my very slow first. I was over a second faster at the end of sector 2, but had a huge chunk of that taken away when he suddenly went into auto drive whilst sat on the racing line heading into the tight left hander in sector 3 whilst I was fairly close behind him.:banghead:

Completely unsportsmanlike, and I was furious. I know there's no real way to detect it but that deserved a penalty. My second lap was slightly faster than the first, but still the worst in the lobby. I started P19 because someone didn't set a time.

When the race came I did the 2-stop. Between the penalties going out left, right and centre and pushing forward through the traffic on the fresh softs I squeezed out P10 on the line, which became P9 because the other BMW got slapped with the tyre penalty.

I'm not going again. That was a horrible race, and 91 points isn't bad. I just hope this isn't the start of a season long trend because I seem to be getting screwed over a lot during qualifying in Manufacturers. Its like my BMW is only allowed to start at the back of the grid. :irked:

Here's hoping Round 3 is better...

An M4 zoomed past me in the corners and and another versus a Cayman and F-Type. They finished 10th and 5th, respectfully. Results on previous page in an A/S room.

The corners aren't the problem, its the long straight(s). During the race i was in, i was racing against someone in a cayman i was catching him up in the corners and then soon as we got to the long straight, he would pull away.

Luckily i was making up enough time against the people behind me through the corners, so that they couldn't catch me up on the straight.

RIP my DR for this weekend. Started at 26.5k on Saturday and finished at 23k. Some sort of a crap show for my one-man racing team debut race.

1st and 2nd slot was a total disaster. 1st slot was more demolition derby than a GT4 race, got wiped out at T1 in 1st lap and then got stuck in the bottom group. Never seen a dirtier race in my 4 months since I am playing GT sport. Was at least on the way of limiting the damage to DR as I was side by side with an Austrian for 12th in the 13th lap, but he smacked into me on purpose and send me out. Got back on my recovery and hit him - I was completely furious for the cheap move, but I lost control and spun. End of the race - 17th.

2nd slot was shambles as well - had the ABS bug during quali, and made a crappy lap so started 11th. Then 1 spin out by myself in 1st lap in the last section - rear wheel on the grass. From there on - recovery from last to 15th.

3rd slot - proclaimed last to stop the DR bleed. Excellent qualyand got the pole with a 1.41.7. Started on Softs but had a mediocre stint - missed T1 and T3 cause of forcing to early on cold tires, managed to keep in on the track but gave the car beside two small nudges. Then decided to not fight him and kept P2 till the end of the stint. Got to pits at end of lap 6, but I selected Softs by mistake - feeling like Haas in 2018 when they did not fix properly the wheels in F1. No option, had to make a 2 stop work. Had to push hard and was 1st till the end of lap 11 when a Porsche catched up. It was not going to help me battle so I let him through. End of lap 12 I pitted, with a 9s gap over P3. Mediums on and a splash of fuel so I can push and we get out in P6, 1.5s behind the group with P2. They were battling so I caught them in the last lap, but got a 0.5s penalty for cutting the fast right hander after the mid straight. Was trying to stay at least 1s from the guy in P7, but the Merc in P6 brake early in the twisty end section. I was over aggressive and tried to get to inside so we traded paint, and in the last turn he pushed me out of the road. I deserved it to be fair, I did not want to be a dirty move, but got surprised by the early brake and I was on the curb - a hard brake at the point was 100% spin. I kept it going, but served the penalty and lost the position anyway. End of the race - P7 and 85 points. It should have been at least 2nd...

Grab the points and that's it. Live to die another day.

Qualification went quite good, managed to find a couple of guys to follow and put in a 1:40.2 which got me 3rd.

Race started a bit meh, as a Jag was in 4th and the game starts me at the top of the rev counter in 1st. Ended up with the Jag fighting me into the 1st corner and then running me wide into the 2nd. Both ended up ok with no penalties so that was a result :)

I managed to hold onto the slipstream of the guys in front until the pit stops, and came in just behind a guy. Unfortunately that 1 second gap made a huge difference when I came out of the pits, as I came out in 8th and he came out in 4th. By the time I managed to fight my way past 1st and 2nd were long gone, and I had a pack bearing down on me.

1st attack came from a Jaguar so I didn't have much I could do on the main straight. I managed to hold off the Mercedes for a little while, but he bumped me going into the 1st corner and then drove past. I tried to get him back on the last lap going into the 1st corner, but he didn't leave me any room so I ended up losing another place. I lost another to a jag on newer tyres around the long right hander, and then took a bump and run into the complex at the end of the lap (I was sorely tempted to punt him into the last corner but managed to restrain myself).

I did hit someone in the last corner but it looks like he was going for the cut back on the guy who nudged me while I was trying to take a tight line (depending on view point I either hit him or he hit me). Fuji can be messy like that in the last sector tbh.

Ended up 8th, but considering the tyre wear on my FF car I will take it.

Did first slot of Nations yesterday. Went with the NSX as it's the car I know best. Managed a clean run in quali and that put me near the front. Went 7S/7M/2H, first stint I was behind someone on mediums but didn't really go for anything as I was saving fuel, had a clean run in my 2nd stint other than my outlap where I came out behind someone and after my last stop I ended up in the lead battle, was a close run race in the end with the top 3 all within 1s. A very good haul of points for me, much better than I was expecting, helped a lot by quali and the NSX being very good on fuel.
Shout-out to @T_revisio and @VulcanSpirit on very good drives from the both of them in that one

So close to victory but happy with 2nd :)

Qualified 4th and started on softs. Planned to do S/M/S. Moved up to 2nd and pitted lap 6 for mediums. Found myself in the lead after everyone had their stop. Stretched my lead out to 2 seconds and could see my tires weren’t too bad. Was going to pit lap 10 but stayed out. Lap 11 I decided to gamble on pitting for fresh tires. Joined back in 5th. Hunted down the others and annoyingly picked up a 0.5 second track limit penalty on second to last lap. Caught the leader in final straight and lost by 0.6 seconds. Damn you penalty!! :guilty::lol:

Did today's race 4 times, this was the 4th result, going to leave it at this. Qualified 4th by avoiding the qualifying fuel burning bunfight and just going for a flying lap straight off without anyone in front of me on the track. In the race, I fell down the field a bit as driver after driver nudged me in a corner to send me into a little slide, and took advantage to pass me. To add insult to injury, the biggest ram overtake someone did on me resulted in me getting a penalty and them getting nothing. Fortunately, by the time I served my penalty, 2 other cars ahead had penalties of the same duration, so I didn't drop off the slipstream train. It pretty much stayed a slipstream train to the finish, apart from PGM who managed to break clear of the battling. Re the comments about the M4 above, I wasn't able to overtake the M4 in the Jag down the straight if it had a car in front giving it slipstream. Still, 173 points is close to the 177 I averaged the last time I raced a season, and I gained 1629 DR from the 4 races. It's just annoying because I've done 24:08 in practice, so I know I have the pace to do better, but after 4 races it just hasn't worked out, partly due to the slipstream lottery qualifying that results in a car park before the final corner and a completely random chance of doing a great lap or a terrible lap if people get in your way. I agree with Kie that it would be much better if we just all qualified solo.

I did the first slot in manufacturers and qualified badly, though I was seeded 18th so expected. Had a bad race, spent too long on Mediums and then had way too much Soft left so laptimes were abysmal and one or two drivers were just ramming everyone. Eventually the rammers fell so far behind they ceased to be a threat and 18th place was mine! Hmmm. But not being a fan of Fuji I thought I might leave it.

Later in the evening jumped into the 2nd to last slot, and was seeded 3rd. Qualified 3rd, which made me nervous given the pack behind at the first corner. I aimed for 6S/2M/6S since I was at the front, and managed to get into 2nd place after avoiding being hit in T1. I soon got into 1st and built a few seconds gap to avoid being caught on the straight. I thought "it's your race to lose now". Thanks brain.

By the end of lap 5 the softs were losing time on the twisty back section and I realised another lap in them and I would be toast, better switch to the mediums. I knew I didn't have them on for long so gave them hell, knowing they had a good few laps of hard braking and cornering in them, and managed to avoid losing time partly thanks to an ever lighter fuel load. I was in 2nd for a lap or two but the car ahead pitted and I was ahead again, with the 3 second lead back. I decided to run them to lap 9 so I could have a clear decent 5 lap stint on soft to the end, but was already losing time and also had to take on fuel on that second stop.

I got back out just a couple of seconds ahead of 2nd place and the adjustment to softs took a little bit of getting used to, as the turn in is way sharper compared to mediums. Nerves got in the way, and the Audi was catching my Cayman in a couple of key places I didn't have the guts to push it (losing a good 10mph round Coca Cola and Dunlop and having spare tarmac between me and the rumble strip). Besides, I was happy with 2nd place or even 3rd after the last race. Which was good because the guy in 3rd was closing in too.

Eventually the Audi 2 laps from the end was right behind me on the straight, I let them have the slipstream, and then tucked behind them as soon as they were past, and then went to pass back on the inside of T1. The inside of T1 is an unforgiving mistress. I made a valiant effort but ended up going a bit off circuit, and the Audi left me enough space to mess up before cutting back and taking 1st and a couple of seconds with it. Oh well. I spent the next lap trying not to lose too much time to the Citroen now 1.5 seconds behind. As long as I can stay ahead to the straight they'll never get past before the finish line, it'll be close but....

Managed to finish 0.208 ahead of the Citroen and the guy in 1st got a 20sec penalty for tyres so I actually won! So glad I went back for another go now.

Thank you. Great drives from you and @T_revisio, too - the last lap was just as close from my end!

Getting ready for the race and ready for battle (literally lol)... My best practice so far in the M4 is 1:40.7 or 2.18% from NA leader. Happy with that since I didn’t practice much and absolutely hate this track! :D

Still not set on tire strategy but going all out in the M4.

I think I was in the same lobby as @Famine too. I didn't see your incident where you got pushed over the kerb at the last bend, but I see from the replay that I was only a second or so in front of you when it happened. Why you got a penalty for that is beyond me.
Me too. The Danish guy just sent one up the inside and despite having enough room to do so, slapped me into the astroturf. 2s, on top of 0.5s for track limits a couple of bends earlier (about where you passed) that I have no idea why I got either.

So had some okay runs last night but saw potential to get some decent points so I kept entering. Got to one timeslot where it must have been a relatively high split. Half of the lobby DCs but the points spread remained the same.

I usually aim for about 150 points, which is usually 7th or higher in most splits I match with. This lobby had 150pts at P11 or so. 12 players remained after the DC so I absolutely was on here for something good. Qualified 10th sans-draft, finished 4th in the Alfa and netted myself 220-ish points, a career high!

So after a very long day and a few beers, I told myself that I should be decent at this, the Jag will be strong, and I should go for it in the 8PM slot.

First thing - qualifying, I'd decided whilst in the pub that getting a slipstream would probably be a good idea here, and on my out lap I was about 2s behind a couple of cars that were going quite quick - so I decided to follow them and try to lap in their slipstream. Not a great lap, 1:40.8, but quicker than them and around what I could do with a good lap on my own so that was that. Provisional pole... 2nd... 3rd... 7th. That's not too bad, bolt the mediums on and we'll play the long game.

The idea was I'd gradually be able to get past people, I didn't expect to go backwards to start off! It took a couple of laps for the jostling to stop and the race to settle and I was in 9th. Caught up to a GTR and passed him down the straight into T1, a GT86 ahead got a penalty then we were settled about 2.5s behind the group ahead, back where I started. Pitted on L7, had plenty of fuel, time to push a little.

Quickly closed up on a BMW and dispatched him down the straight, then a couple of seconds down the road there was a group of three cars battling for 3rd (this would become 2nd as 2nd place pitted on L13), closed up to them and we had a bit of a ding dong for the final three laps, this is how the four car battle for 2nd looked as we entered the final lap...(I'm the green Jag on the far side)

Screenshot_20200223-210208_Camera.jpg

The lead Jag moved right over and blocked me from going full send! But I emerged out of T1 in 3rd place and despite having better tyres than the other Jag, didn't have the opportunity to get past so 3rd is where I finished (although I'd have had him into T1 with another lap!). 253 points, extremely pleased! And off to bed

The Aston Martin is a joy to drive compared to the Mercedes, I can control and predict it so much better as tyre wear drops. Had three good clean races in C S group, two wide through corners, backing off where necessary. It was an absolute joy to be passed cleanly at T1, several times, by several different people, mmm, must work on blocking, ha.

I don't know why I suck so hard at Fuji but god, do I ever. Qualified 16th, finished 18th. The bumper cars for the first few laps didn't help anything, neither did the random penalties for people running into me.

I suppose I'll try another even though this track hates me. I mean, I can't do much worse, right?
