Soooo, I think I made a bad decision with Jaguar. Saturday, I tried 2 races, had 2 bad qualifying runs with the slipstream chaos. 1st attempt, started 18th and worked my way up to 12th, so went again and some guy decided I should have 3 off track excursions so I decided he deserver to see the countryside as well and then quit for 0 points. Gr.3 felt pretty under-steery (especially in the faster corners) but just about ok.

Moving to last night, I was just slow. Put together a reasonable qualifying lap (Maybe 3 or 4 tenths if I really hooked everything up) and came 18th. Race was solid, managed to avoid most of the fighting and again managed to work my way through the field to 12th (few people crashed including one guy spinning on the hill up to the corkscrew, taking out the guy ahead of me and I basically had to aim for them and hope they weren't there when I got there). Pretty sure that was about as good as I could do because I had no off track excursions and was hitting apexes and putting in consistent times.

I tried a quali lap in a lobby, but could only get 1:27.0 so I think that was my best. I also hopped in a GT86 to give that a try and was instantly a few tenths faster, so maybe a bad track for Jag?

Quickly tried the Tokyo South Inner track this weekend, to see if I was any closer to the pace on a different track, and nope I am miles off the pace again(was 2.5 secs off the top time last night, so probably like 3-4 secs in reality). Either VW was awesome last season, I need to practice the Jag more, or those Jag cars are just pig slow - not sure what yet.

The Jag is a power car. I drive the Mustang and it is similar. After the update I had to change a few things to get my speed back.
I moved my BB from 3 to zero (tire wear still even, surprisingly) and used a little more trail braking. Focussed on slow in-fast out. It's as fast as before but need a little more smoothness.

I did the last Manufacturers slot last night as when I did this on the weekend I got a pretty clean lobby, was obviously a fluke  there were cars flying everywhere in the midfield. The qualy was the worst though, went out a bit late to get some space and got what I thought was enough on the out lap, on lap1 came out of 3 and a car was dawdling around turn 4 off the line until I arrived when he pulled across in front of me at a snails pace and blocked me off. Lap 2 coming through 10 on a reasonable lap there was a car ghosted on the outside near the pits, passed him and then got t-boned by him in the final bend. Still I guess with door number 20 qualifying 13 and finishing 10 with a clean race bonus amongst all that was okay.

What’s the strength of the two Hyundai cars, anyway? And I think somebody answered this but I can’t remember, but I was also wondering why Hyundai always seems to qualify for the World Tour events but at the events, they’re always in last.

So I finally had a decent race where I didn't get punted or my wheel comes off the stand.

Had a poor qualifying where I got an annoying 0.5 second penalty on my first lap, which also messed up the 2nd lap, leaving me down in 14th.

Race was a very quiet one, I started on Hards and stopped on my first lap, leaving me out of sync for the whole race.

Finished in 6th without overtaking a single car on track. Only bit of excitement I had was a Scirocco going full divebomb in the chicane. Luckily I saw him coming.

Has anyone watched the fastest hotlap for Saturdays Nations? It's really weird. They take terrible lines through the chicanes (braking on the exit of Ascari) they regularly go full brake and gas at the same time, and yet its the fastest lap? Anyone know what's going on?

Haven’t seen it yet, but that’s interesting. @koshmare Do you have a lap video yet?

Wow that is weird! Even lifting off the brake and putting back down again because they were braking too early.

That lap is absolutely nonsensical. He's dawdling through the first chicane and Lesmos, but is fastest of everyone... by 0.7s?

Edit: He's got way too much power, somehow. He accelerates from 44mph exiting Rettifilo up to 163mph (redline in 7th) before the brake markers, while the second place car accelerates from 51mph up to 145mph (barely hitting the top of 6th) at the same spot. He gains 1.6 seconds on that first straight alone.

Apparently there's a BOP glitch and they were using Gr3 BOP

Do we have a new glitch? Any ABS lights flashing or anything?
ABS is the same as with the second place lap. But something odd is going on. He's revving it out in 7th, where others are barely hitting the top of 6th.

Must be power and weight adjusted in settings

I wondered this as BoP is turned off. I tried playing around with the power and weight settings but as soon as you move them from 100 you can't save the setting. Was this just a one off glitch do you know?
That part I don't know. Have they ever done a one make Gr.4 or Gr.3 nation's race before? Might be a loophole PD wasn't prepared for when they set it up

The fastest time for Nations is now a 1:47.8.

I found it odd that the race details lists power and weight instead of just using BoP on. So that may trigger the glitch. I would be curious to know how it works anyway.

No need to ban anyone IMO, as it will be patched by tomorrow, surely. Better that someone found this out now than during the race on Saturday.

I remember seeing a gr 3 car in a gr 4 race on Interlagos a while back. Same sort of glitch?

That wasn’t that long ago either.

Their main strength is their 7 year warranty.....:p

but seriously; would also like to know,
i like to use them myself sometimes in daily races but hardly see anyone using them. perhaps their image?

Here's the lap for anyone that can't see it.

That's the weird thing as you can't touch any of the settings. You can adjust power and weight but if you do you can't exit the screen with them saved.

Hoping this was just a one off glitch that can't be repeated.

It's kind of funny that the guy may have had no idea what he was doing, and BAM!... his lap is #1 and posted for all to see. No fault of his!

Me: doesn't participate in the FIA series because not sure can devote time to commit to a fixed schedule of races.

Learns scoring is based on 'best of' rounds format, don't have to be present for each race to compete. Joins in.

Also me: participates in EVERY round of both Nations and Manufacturer series so far.
