Do you ever run practice lobbies on the weekends? I’m always at work during the week when you do. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten to race with you before. :)
I'll sometimes run one on Saturdays (depending on which event I like the look of), but I'm usually racing by about 10am your time, and then doing real-life Saturday evening stuff.

Are these lobbies open to all drivers?
I would love to join and get some race practice.

Amazingly I'm only 0.3s behind @watto79 in my free practice room... but still, this race seems like it's going to be an incredibly dull way of handing over DR to other people. Entered against my better judgment, knowing I'm going to be taken out in turn one and ending up 18th at best.

At least you have the right expectations

I entered, and as the timer hit zero was disconnected from the server

Slot 1...

14th.

As predicted otherwise. Qualifying is a total Plato ********, and the race is no better. Hit your braking points and line perfectly, and it doesn't matter - someone will put their nose inside and punt you out. Zero etiquette in either session.

Also two drivers dropped off the back of the pack and slowed down so they could take out any driver trying to pass them. Which was nice.

Gotta say that I'm looking forward to that Roadster race at BMB. I was thinking of setting the BB forwards a bit, given that it's an FR car, but I'm worried that the tire wear multiplier will eat through my front wheels if I do so. Maybe I should just set it to -2?

Nation's cup went well for me. After an alright qualifying for once still could have been better was 4 tenths up on last lap before losing slipstream due to idiocy Infront so started 10th. Then came the race and hoo boy were the first couple of laps interesting.
Much contact Infront of me and someone calling me dirty after they turned in on me at T2 lead me to picking up 6th position where the race for me would calm down until lap 9 ,now in 7th, when the cars in front of me would start fighting letting me catch up and start fighting for position. Things really hotted up on the last few laps where I made a couple of moves on the inside of T1 and then being passed again at the hairpin. Then on the final lap a car ahead span at T2 giving me an extra position. I then got past another car on the exit of the hairpin and into the penultimate corner. I then had to fend of the 2 cars behind who tripped over each other slightly giving me a good run to the line to hold 6th position! Not bad considering recent form and having Car 20! Also thanks to @CoolJetta3 for the Renown Livery which coincidentally I have a pair of 787b socks that i'm wearing today!

+1/2 should be good for the race. :)

I always hated this track as well, but I'm much better at driving it in GT Sport than in any of the previous games. At least it's not the version with the chicane...

I am also debating running it though. The Gr. 4 Corvette is going to lose out to the more nimble cars in the last half of the lap, while simultaneously not being able to outrun them on the front straight...
I’m struggling with this too... seems I will lose 1s to those FF cars every lap. The understeer problem is huge when I was doing the test race

SR rating dropping like a stone, at Spa.

Divebomb City in the midfield.

Only track where I’ve ever had SR down before the start line.
Chicane is a joke with people piling in at the start.

This is going well. Missed slot 2 sign-in by seconds due to real life. Slot 4 is the next one I can enter now. And the Daily A races I was doing to get my SR back to 99 from 92 got me to 98 and back down to 95. Too many people can't or won't look more than 1 car ahead and run into you when there is clearly a train of cars ahead braking and accelerating.:dunce:

The best things I can say about my 16:20 run are that I didn't finish last and tyre wear was good. Other than that, everything went to pot straight away.

More on that later.

After getting disconnected from the first slot I decided to watch Kie's stream. After watching that my main worry was I'd nod off half way through the race. Fortunately I ended up in a lobby of fantastic ridiculousness that was one of the most entertaining races I've been in

Qualified 10th and we had 3 disconnects before the race starts. Unfortunately @VulcanSpirit was on the wrong side of those and left a gap in the field.

My aim was just to keep it clean and watch what happened, hoping to pick up a few places from penalties. Well my fellow racers didn't fail to disappoint. The lead pack were fighting at every corner and there were cars everywhere. On lap 8 I was laughing my ass off as the cars ahead are going 4 wide down the straight.

I just stayed at the back of the lead group all race making sure to not pick up any penalties. Literally letting cars through if they dived up the inside.

Sometimes the lobby makes it easy for you.

This is the lead pack on lap 7 working together to maintain the gap

And I thought it was going to be boring.

Nice job and great livery!

Yup, if the car is wearing the front tires more then the rears then you want rearward bias, opposite bias for the opposite tears wearing more. Basically, move the braking to the tires that are wearing less to even out the overall wear. :)
That makes sense, but the Roadster is FR. Wouldn’t the rear tires be wearing more, and you’d want the bias to be towards the front as a result?

EDIT: Unless this is more about the layout of the circuit.

In most cases, FR cars will wear out the fronts more because the heavy engine sits over them and you plow the front tires more easily. If you’re wearing the rears out you need to ease off on the throttle a bit when exiting. MR cars wear the rears out more because of the back can and does slide around more.

I see. So as a result, do these BB figures for each drivetrain look good, as a general guide?

FR: Slightly rear.
FF: More to rear.
MR: Slightly front.
RR: More to front.

I’d imagine that the track would change things, too. For example, courses with heavy braking zones like Dragon Trail - Seaside would mean more of the BB going to the front, right? Or perhaps Le Mans with the chicanes.

I'm not really expecting anything to keep up with the FF cars, since straight line speed is their thing, but my issue with the Corvette is that it's worse at cornering than the 4C, Cayman, M4, and other cars that are tuned more for handling; but at the same time, it's no faster than them (except maybe the 4C) in a straight line either.
+1/2 should be good for the race. :)
I'm actually running the Mazda TC at +5 and it's still perfectly stable when braking.

Yup, that’s the general idea. 👍 Just adjust from there as needed or as tire wear requires. I generally don’t go more the -3 or +3, but that’s just my personal preference. :)

I usually go all the way to the front for some of the Porsches, especially the 911 (991) GT3 RS.

I used to be at +3 or 4 on several of the FR cars but the last update changed something or I imagined it did because now I run at zero or -1 at the max.
