Good news. I survived driving the R8 through the bus stop at Dragon Trail.

Bad news. The R8 was a bus stop at Dragon Trail. At least, I would've been one had I not built enough of a gap to the cars behind me. Salvaged 8th via free positions but was an overall struggle. Not looking forward to its next outing.

So did the nations cup get deserted or what? Have a feeling there are lot more people in the manufacturers racea than in the nations cup.

Might just be that the cars in nations don't suit everybody. I do skip lot of them races, especially ones with road cars and more obscure cars like f1 and RB standard.

The one make races in the Nations Cup always have a lower strength of field than with the racing cars. This week we've had two 90's cars on short tracks, and it sounds/looks like both races were dull as hell. If you were to order it based on popularity, it would be Gr3>Gr4>Gr1>GrX>N class (too early to put Gr2 in but I guess it would be between Gr4 and Gr1 for now).

On the same day as those one make races you had Gr4 Brands Hatch GP and Gr3 Dragon Trail, both very popular combinations.

I mean, it wasn't just yesterday. I haven't seen many of the usual names on the leaderboards in the past two weeks or so. I might be wrong though.

There may also be a choice as not everyone will have the time to do both.As @mthomas_95 said the more popular classes will be raced on more, meaning manufacturers races may be given the nod more.

TEST SEASON 23:

■ FIA GT Nations Cup - Test Season 23
Round 1: 15 April, 2018 (Sunday) - Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 Shifter / Tsukuba Circuit
Round 2: 16 April, 2018 (Monday) - Gr.2 / Autódromo de Interlagos
Round 3: 17 April, 2018 (Tuesday) - Gr.3 / Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit
Round 4: 19 April, 2018 (Thursday) - Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.3 Road Car / Autodromo Nazionale Monza
Round 5: 20 April, 2018 (Friday) - Gr.2 / Dragon Trail - Seaside
Round 6: 21 April, 2018 (Saturday) - Gr.4 / Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa

■ FIA GT Manufacturer Series - Test Season 22
Round 1: 15 April, 2018 (Sunday) - Gr.3 / Suzuka Circuit
Round 2: 16 April, 2018 (Monday) - Gr.4 / Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit
Round 3: 17 April, 2018 (Tuesday) - Gr.4 / Willow Springs International Raceway: Big Willow
Round 4: 19 April, 2018 (Thursday) - Gr.3 / Autódromo de Interlagos
Round 5: 20 April, 2018 (Friday) - Gr.4 / Blue Moon Bay Speedway - Infield A
Round 6: 21 April, 2018 (Saturday) - Gr.3 / Autodrome Lago Maggiore - GP

Very good selection for the Nations Cup. Perhaps PD have realised the standard car races aren't attracting enough players and therefore lower points are gained.

GR4 at Yamagiwa will be a cracker

No ridiculous slow road car races (just stupid go kart race). About time. Strong line up for Gr.3 races in manu.

Yeah the 2 near identical 90's cars on small tracks races this week were pathetic, the last timeslot at Tsukuba only offered 1340 points

No point doing the Gr3 Alfa road car at Monza as that'll easily be the one people skip. Bit of a shame Yamagiwa is Gr4 because I feel anything below Gr3 there doesn't suit the track. Manufacturers is one of the strongest calendars yet.

I think the kart will be good since they'e racing on a kart track, the last race in them was great fun.

Nations Cup looks fantastic, probably the best lineup they've had. Two Gr.2 races, though vaya con dios with Gr.2 cars at the Dragons Trail bus stop. Love the Alfa Gr.3 road car, though Monza doesn't really showcase it's tossability.

I wish they'd revert the kart handling to be what it was in the public beta though. The karts now are way too twitchy on pad, I have to turn down the sensitivity from 5 to 2 just to keep it on the road.

I was just in the FIA Manufacturers free practice Gr. 4 at Interlagos. I'm in the American Region, but there are 3 Japanese flags and 1 Singapore flag on the leaderboard. Did I miss something? I thought the leaderboard was only drivers in the same region.

So today's Kyoto Manufacturers race was a tyre shredder, especially for the MR cars. Perfect time then to try out a rather audacious strategy...

For a moment, I thought that strategy was going to backfire. Excellent overtake. 👍

Pretty sure that wasn't going to work for me since I was struggling so much with the track and car. I'm done with the R8. I love how it looks but I hate how it drives. Unless it gets a BOP adjustment or a different stock tune, it's staying in the garage unless it's Suzuka.

How many test season it's been going to be?

24 Superstars slot for manufacturers is glitched. It's not showing for the american region.

Leaderboard is also glitched and it's showing Asia and America times.

Now up to 2 countries in email region now in nations. Better work hard boys.

It’s actually much easier than with Gr 3 and 4 cars. I just did a few laps there and was able to take the chicane flat out most of the time. I even had some room for error. Dragon Trail feels like it was made for these cars. What a blast to drive.

Interlagos on the other hand...

I managed to catch Nik_Makozi's livestream of the Asia/Oceania Nations Cup finals and it was a very interesting race in terms of different race strategies. He (I guess it's a he) pitted in twice like almost everyone else, while there were a couple of drivers who decided to stick it all out on the line for a single pit stop. Amazing finish too, he came first by 0.004 (don't believe me? look from 52:55 in the stream) after passing the second guy after the last corner. Super effort my fellow countryman! :)

Here's the livestream:

Fun fact: This final is his First Nations Cup race after getting the Fanatec CSL Elite Wheel + Pedals. Mind-blowing how he's managed to get used to it (the wheel) so quickly, although I noticed he was a bit lighter on the brakes than usual. Does anyone know if these pedals (brake-wise) are harder than other brands (Logitech/Thrusmaster)? If so it could be he wasn't using all the brake (obviously not fully accustomed to it).

EDIT: He didn't do the Manufacturer's final because he didn't have enough points. Shame. :(

Guessing there aren't many rules for qualification in asia. Mainly full of japanese and australians, compared to what we have in emea.

Yeah, there's rarely any players from New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Thailand etc. They should make the Nations Cup Global, although I doubt there would be any time of day for the races that would suit everyone.

Gr.2 on Nurb GP, not very fun. The low-gear exits require really feather-light throttle application with those cars, as they have more power than Gr.3 but lack the grip of the 919. Really wish PD would let us pick our tire compound.

It's showing up now but I already did an earlier race thinking it wouldn't. Oh, well.

It's not letting anybody enter it, giving a NE-21000260 error but they're giving out Top 24 scores to a few people for Round 6 in Manufacturers.

Edit: Now the scores have disappeared.

Unless PD fixes the throttle mapping in this game, this is going to be a recurring issue with those cars at those type of circuits. I was able to manage okay but only because I had a clear pace advantage over the field I was up against. If I had to be aggressive with my right foot, I would've been in trouble.

Oddly in that race, I was apparently running fast enough that I couldn't run power mode 1 for the whole race. I went to 2 after pitting for a full fuel load and got into the 58s after being stuck in high 59s earlier. Dialing down the power a notch in certain sectors may help with these Gr2 cars.

It was glitched. Nobody entered. At least the last slot is available. No triple points tho.
I was wondering why I got so many points after I was done with my race.

Well, didn't get a chance to see whether my Intergalos strategy with the TT for the Top 24's lap length would've saved me from a dreadful finish. On the upside, I quite enjoyed the slot I played in because I had to battle the entire way. I am quite upset that the game refused to let me save the replay so all I have is the video clip.

I went full on rear brake bias just so I could survive the Senna S without going straight off like a ruler.

Did they change the qualifications for nations cup top 24? It said it was ranked by points for the season, how long has it been this way?
