Pretty pleased with the calendar for both championships for Test Season 22. In fact, it's probably the best race calendar so far. Brands Hatch twice in a day? Someone will definitely mistake the Indy for GP circuit or vice-versa

Hmm, so that 2 per marque thing doesn't work very well. Thought I would give the top 24 a shot as I was the no.1 VW racer, practised for 15 minutes since I knew the me and the Scirocco wasn't the fastest and didn't want to embarrass myself.

Needn't have bother as it just told me I wasn't good enough and didn't let me in :)

Thought I would take my disgruntlement out on a Suzuka race, but got hit and given a penalty so just gave up. You win this time PD, i'm going to watch the golf.

You not do to well?
I did pretty well, I was 3rd in the race and 2nd overall.

There are 24 different manufactures so being in the top 2 of a manufacture doesn't guarantee you'll make the race

You will obviously see things different to me as I only see the leader boards and not in the thick of the action.

True but it does make me question the point of trying different brands. I like to try different cars but most seem to stick to the same cars week in week out. I think mostly though I was just peeved that there was no race for me to have :)

Tbh though I tend to think that they need to bring a sort of league system into the game, because I am never going to compete against your level of driver, so what exactly is the point for anyone under SS to race in these. Would be good if D, C, B & A racers could win something.

That would be cool. If they figured out who was a bonafide D,C,B or A and who was not, and weed out racers out of place. You could have some cool ranked top 24 races (of D,C,B,A ranks).

congratulation mthomas on your nations cup win

Thanking you, always fun when it's a proper 1 vs 2 stop battle. Thankfully I nailed my 2nd stint so I could be close enough after my last stop to pick you and desmania off on your older tyres.

Always worth going through the standings and checking with the 2 limit in mind where you are. You needed roughly 4000 points to qualify this week, so if you're above that mark this upcoming season and in the top 2 in your manufacturer you should have a chance of sneaking in.

The game should really have a notice on the Saturday morning who is in the Top 24 positions and who's just outside (reserves for if someone doesn't make it). Nations race I believe there were 2 Finnish slots (2 were in the top 24 positions) but one didn't enter so it went to some random Finn with just 150 points who got lucky no one else from his country bothered to try

Note for future reference. Avoid a fuel saving strategy with the Aston at Monza at all costs. Watching everyone around you go right by and realizing that they were still able to one stop with ease isn't my idea of an enjoyable race. :boggled:

Blue Moon was a blast, lots of different strategies, nice clean lobby, duking it out with drivers on different strategies, fuel saving as much as possible, one of the best races I've had in a long time.

I noticed in quali fuel was going nowhere. it was a 25 lap race, so knew it would be more than a one stop, I thought I'd try a two stop but thought slow pace might cause incident. I eeked out the first stint to 6 laps, and thought I'd stick to that, another run a map 3 to lap 12 then again to lap 18, meaning I had 7 lap stint to deal with, so came out of the pits on map 4 and ran a few laps before getting more aggresive with my gear changes and finally back up to map 3 when I had the fuel left to allow it.

again I wasn't the fastest car there but I nailed the strategy, that along with intelligent and good drivers saw me push up to into the top 10 for once!

yes Blue Moon truly a blast :D look alike not all people knowing what happen on early lap when on lap 5 almost everybody go to pitting  I take that as big advantage to flooring to top. Made 2 mistakes though, forget to not change tire and on last pit too fast stopping the fuel :dunce: if I not do that both I think I can pump to one more position. Well from 15 to 7 is not bad.

They should make this pit strategy on daily race.

Got a very nice battle against VP_Patohm in the 1st Nations Cup race of the ST22
First half of the race is quite boring, managing tyres and fuel, but after the pitstop, things goes SKRAAAAA !

PS : Sorry but during the whole race I spoke in French because... I'm French :p My english is not good enough :nervous:

Manufacturers race a joke. Went less than 6 laps before pit again. Quit after 2 stops.

Yeah the pit stop thing was very weird, not sure why PD chose that. I had a fun time, got hit about 15 times by 3 guys and then one of them pitted me on the last lap. Though I would try the nations and just lost my rag when a guy hit me 3 times on the main straight.

I think that is enough for me, going to give it a break for a while.

My opinion to the new top24 format:
First I've to say that I'm quite happy with my result in nations cup top24, after a not so good quali result I had to start from P14 and due to a good recovery run with 1stop strategy and not a single mistake I was able to finish P7, only a few tenths behind P5.

However, I know this result was mostly possible because a lot of the top drivers were missing this race thanks to the new format. The quality of this race wasn't as high as usual. I think the new system is better than the old one (where only DR was important) but there's still room for improvements.

My suggestion would be that countries that are doing good during the season can get up to 4 spots for top24 race and some countries shouldn't get any (similiar to champions league in football). Furthermore, only the points from the best 5 or maybe 10 drivers from each country should count for this system to work.

To the manufacturer's race: They still have a lot of work to do with BoP....

To be fair a lot of the top guys seemed to struggle in the opening Nations races, then concentrated on Manufacturers (that was a more typical top 24 race field). I was still surprised the gap spread wasn't that huge in Nations so it was still a good quality field, but I do agree on increasing the country limit from 2 to 4. After the Brands race @Cuber Tom and I were almost guaranteed the 2 British spots already after just 2 rounds so the other guys didn't really try as hard as they could, even though they were top 10 overall.

Anyone else keep getting booted from the FIA Manufacturing races this evening? 2 out of 2 so far for me.

Edit. I was awarded 0 points for the second race even though everyone got kicked during qualifying and can no longer enter. Think I’ll just stick to the daily races.

Only ran the Manufacturers race at Dragon Trail. Was doing fairly good practice times but my official qt was not good and started in 14th. Start was clean, but I picked up penalty after first chicane when I took too much kerb. Managed the rest of the race cleanly and ended up 12th. A clean race, gained a few hundred dr points and still got 6 additional sr points, back up to 97. A tidy race all in all.

So did the nations cup get deserted or what? Have a feeling there are lot more people in the manufacturers racea than in the nations cup.
