Which corners do you mean exactly? I think they have made the exit of turn 4 bit more strict and you can't go as wide as you could before, but I think otherwise it's the same and you can go wide/cut a lot in certain places. Exit of turn 2 and the chicane have always been super lenient.

Yeah i think it's that corner. Usually i used to go as wide as you do but if i do that i always end up with getting a penalty somehow. I know that they have stricted the penalty system here but it's still weird if you ask me. I always have to keep at least two tyres within the kerb for not getting a penalty.

have you noticed in season 1 a change of grip from free practice to race conditions? It happened to me in Interlagos, and Monza. Serious changes of grip. The free practice was like driving on ice, and the race was super grip

Accidents happen, but dang, man. Just wanted to race clean. Two laps in and people try to capitalise on other's mistakes. Just dial it back and wait.

I'm started 12th, moved up to 11th. The pack is getting tight and I just eased off as an RC F ahead of me, isn't as fast in the corners. The SLS behind stays on my bumper. Just hold up, bud.
No, a cars spins, I evade the RC F. Instead of backing off at the first RH sweeper, I see it coming and move to the right, after the exit. The SLS goes left, onto the grass. Tries to correct, I brake because it's coming across the track. BANG! Hits me and I collect the barrier perpendicular.

Now, I have to wait for traffic(even though I'm ghosted) and reverse. Fall to last with damage to my bumper and brakes. Pit and fill up.

Made it to 17th. Pit in lap 9 as I'm closing on 16th place. Move to 13th and hold station to the finish.

Well, had a less than stellar race at Brands hatch. Qualified 12th in a A/S B/S lobby, got escorted off the road near the end of lap one, found the back of a car scrubbing a penalty on a blind corner (on the racing line, no less) on lap 2, then spent the rest of the race circulating at or near the back.

Kind of feel lucky to get out of it with 16th place and a measly 200 or so points.
Will resist watching the replay to see who wronged me.

A good start to Season 2.:D Most B/S with 1 A/S and 1 S/S in the grid.

Good luck mate:cheers::gtpflag:

@Dezcom I don't know how you managed to go from 19th to 6th last night in the Nations. When I saw you behind me I was like... how is that possible? You almost got me on the final lap too I got some oversteer in Lesmo 1 and had to really nail Ascari to not let you get a slipstream coming out.

good job @Dezcom , I was also in this race and got screwed. I think i started 9th, a chain reaction behind me pushed me wide, came out of T1 18th and had to play catch up, I think i finished 10th but was being held up by one person who made it difficult to pass. After passing him though, I was able to pull about 1.5 sec per lap on him. It was chaos back there for a while. Oh well, bad luck.

Oof, sorry for the delay in response, I'm just now seeing this. :dunce:
I was so angry when I screwed up my qual session that I just put the blinders on and accepted my fate, whatever that turned out to be. The car was really fun once I got into a rhythm, and I lucked out big time that a handful of drivers decided to serve their penalties early in the race. Then I messed up Roggia after the pit cycle and @vvise got by me. After his Lesmo oversteer I popped the kerb at Ascari and that was the end of my attack, lol. Good job to you both! @NommyNom

I got killed by penalties... I got really hot-headed, but thankfully I was able to hold myself and not report the person 5 times because of something he didn't do

What surprised me though is the finishing position of other people. ILOVENARA, muimuipui, and ilovecat_k are all people I previously raced with and are very capable of winning even in the highest splits, but this time they were all 10th or below against people that I've seen either for the first time during Season 1 or only this very race. I'm not undermining those people's skills or anything, it's just that I find it a bit surprising that I haven't seen these people prior to Season 1. Probably the real deal started reeling new talents in :)

Maybe. I didn't notice any new names in the nations race I did. At least there were more familiar ones that not.

I'm not a big fan of this track. I'll usually avoid it because I'm not a fan of all the corner cutting and first corner shenanigans. I'm usually way off the pace anyway. Its almost impossible to pass here cleanly as well making a clean qualifier more important than at some other tracks.

In qualifying the field was outclassed by L-Shooter who I think qualified around a second ahead of everyone. I had a decent first lap in qualifying but ran out of time to improve and it stuck. Ended up 8th or 9th - I forget. In the race I tried the svenno tactic in the first corner, I sat back waited for the carnage then drove through the spinning ghosted mess. I still managed to pick up a 1s penalty there for god knows what. Picked up a place or two to compensate. After that I was noticing lag issues more, I couldn't stay close to the car in front as it was jerking around and caused me to lose the slipstream I was trying to use to conserve fuel. Kept conserving fuel and started picking up random penalties from being hit from behind. No fault on them I think as I'm fairly certain they were lag related penalty gifting bumps. Towards the end I made a silly mistake that cost me a bunch of places after I started to doze off. Must've finished 12th or thereabouts? I can't remember.

I literally use term go big or go home in here, pretty much careless about penalty as long as I didn't hit him at that rate. I mean he go pit in lap 6 and I go to pit lap 8 so I have tire advantage and waiting till last lap to pass him turn around I can pass him in last chicane lol.

Start from 19 cause 2 Japanese block me for full 10 minutes :banghead:

at least it make a good photo

You can blame me on this I just expect he get some ghosting but he not, get bamboozled again this is second time I get this surprise and I haven't prepare anything :dunce:

Thats tough to deal with that 2nd one. Happens far too often at brand hatch. They should've lifted and kept to the left.

In my mind thats a black flag and dont bother turning up for the rest of the season type of offense for the car that pushed you off!

The one and only Lancashire :D!
@Tidgney that would mean aprox. 107 players total, and about 50 people taking part in FIA. Can you have a look to how many people is in the FIA Nations for your region?

Also, anyone from Birmingham to do the same check for me, please?

Haven’t done any practice or even looked at leaderboard for Nations at Nurb GP, but was hoping to use the Lancer since it served me well at Yamagiwa last time, and looks like that’s a safe choice, good.

Thats what I used. I found it easier to handle when it had fuel in it oddly enough. Good luck.

yep that's in my mind too actually, especially when see he sudden right hahahaha. Nah he finish behind me and demoted from SR S to A so need report him

Just got done with the Nations Cup race at the Nurburgring and oh my word. I thought the penalty system was bad but it's somehow gotten worse. I brushed wheels with a Danish driver at turn 3. Very minimal contact - 10 second penalty that went up by a further second so I eventually had to slow down at the 15 second mark, thus ruining any chance of top 10, never mind top 5 (started fifth)! The Danish driver appeared to have gotten the 10 second penalty too because when I slowed down to serve the pen, he was right at the back with me also. Unbelievable. Wheel rubbing is part and parcel in motorsport, unless it's GT Sport where it's viewed as being more dangerous than getting rear-ended at 200mph braking for a chicane!!

Just finished Manufacturers Cup Race....Well....qualified 15 th ( i'am not a hotlapper unfortunately but a racer :mischievous: )
Start of the race no problems few places gained till the 3rd lap at Sheene's corner a BMW and another WRX Colleague ahead of me made a mistake and span out unfortunately the WRX back on the track , hit me and send me to spectator's tribune race ruined for me :indiff:
And the most hilarious thing is that they gave me ( the victim) 10 SECONDS PENALTY ! the other WRX have 1 second ! Why ??
I manage to finish 16th ! great start of the season :(

I really don't like the Nurburgring GP track. Damn tight corners. Qualified 4th, came 5th. It's almost impossible to overtake.

From what I've experienced, the penalties at T2 and T4 can be either really strict or really lenient depending on where and how you cross the boundary. Oddly enough, if you take a safe line but go just a bit wide you get a penalty, but for some reason if you blatantly go wide on the exit at a sharp angle it will let you get away with it

This track is beyond broken...

Anyone got any tips for a guy who was silly and picked McLaren, so at least I might not get embarrassed again? I know neither car is that great but I can definitely go quicker than I did today with the Gr4 version, even if I'll never trouble the top guys.

Mind you a ten second penalty for another car bumping me as it went past didn't help things either, at least I don't think I wrecked anyone else's race so that was a plus, since I've hardly driven this car at all.

It comes down to actually communicating to players what is and what is not out of bounds. The problem is that it's an algorithm making these calls and it's not a straightforward "cross a line, get a penalty" type of system either. We end up having to figure out the limits via trial and error.

I usually don't feel the need to report my every race result, but damn today sucked. On Nürburgring GP in Nations I got blocked in quali by a British troll, who - after I had climbed from 18th to 8th - punted me into the gravel, causing me to come home in 16th

Brands in Manufacturers seemed much better, even though I botched quali myself here (i just dislike this track...) and started 17th. I was on course to finish 6th, but a Polish driver, with whom I had a fantastic close and fair fight pretty much all race long, felt the need to push me off track in the very last turn, costing me 4 places...

Good thing we have 8 races each for this round, because today was one to forget :(

Along with Star Player PD should introduce "Dunce Player" status.

First prerequisite for such a title: Being beat by another Manufacturer whilst driving the Megane Trophy at Brands today.
Dunce Player :dunce: Wow... That's pretty harsh.

Also if you come 4th in the British (or any other country) drivers before a top 24 race.
