The Blue Moon Bay Speedway 225 Presented by Polyphony Digital in all its glory. I still love that move I did starting at the 19:30 mark. In a live event, I would've gone for that gap and made it three wide into T1.

Here's the epic pack race in all its glory. Wish I could have speedway races like this all the time.

Yesterday nation cup , my best race so far , 23 of americas but i'm not sure to be able to run the next top 24 race because 9 PM , right in the middle of the rush of my pizza shop saturday. Perhaps my older son will take my place during 1 hour if not too much pressure at the oven.
Like i've said a few days ago , i'm not faster than before but a lot more regular at fast pace and able to save some dangerous situations like drifts ....
All this become a lot easier after turning my TV in game mode . The lag in my driving inputs is almost zero and my saves are a lot more eficient.

Started on pole at Blue Moon and it became a 5-way fight for 1st after the pit stops. I fueled up to 90% to get ahead for a little bit and short shift until I had enough to get to the end, but I got so caught up in battling others that I forgot to short shift 3 laps into my second stint. I ran out just before the checkered but thankfully I didn't lose anymore than 5th and got a good points haul of 1677.

Is there a way to recover past replays?

If not, could I ask a favor of anyone who was in my race to share their replay? I forgot to save it and for some reason either forgot or messed up the gameplay recording. I don't even have a screenshot to see who was in the room. Here are the race details:

Manufacturer Series
Race 2: Mt. Panorama / Gr. 3
ID: pfei
DR/SR: A/S
Region: Americas / USA
Car: Subaru WRX Gr. 3
Timeslot: I think it was the first one

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Damn, after watching some of the Blue Moon videos here I wish I would have entered the race. Like a dummy, I tried a Blue Moon practice race on Sport Mode and had the worst online racing experience I've had in years. People were driving overly aggressively from lap 1 turn 1, and I got shoved in the wall on lap 3 and fell to dead last and never recovered. My dead last result cost me over 2K in DR points. I've only finished 40+ online races in GT Sport and haven't lost any DR points, so losing 2K in one race was soul crushing. LOL!

I was so upset that I didn't have any desire to give the FIA race a shot, but it looks like I should have. I may have been lucky and joined a clean split like many of you did. Oh well, on to the next one!

PS: Thanks to you all for posting your race videos, they are always fun to watch!

I don’t think I’ve ever been this mad, but the race today at blue bay.... Badflounder. Don’t race with him. Kept blocking me so we ended up with a gap between 15th and 14th. To make it better I went for a pass and He would keep tapping me. So I tried one last time and he spins me out, I get a 10 second and get stuck in last. Worst season by far for me because of dirty drivers.... sorry for the rambling. UPDATE: Im the NSX in the video

I think we were in the same race. PSN ScotysDemise. I remember someone named Badflounder, but I don't remember if he was in my manu. cup race or national race.

You can see the list of drivers on "players found" tab on PSN. Just message some of them and luckily theyve saved it.

To save you some time: you can't race in the 24SS race, you have to be a S DR driver.

Just one more thing , is driver rating working differently in FIA races than daily races ???
After my 3 good first races in Nations cup where i 'let a lot of S DR drivers behind , i didn't saw any progress on my DR bar .... Did they process all this at the end of the season ??? If i remember well , i've seen a lot of peple becoming S DR the day after season 1

Am i understanding this correctly: if you don't qaulify and enter for the first 24SS race this season, your chances of getting in the second 24SS is slim to none, isn't it?

It really depends on which country you are representing and also region.

Round 4 Top 24 doesn't have any base points and is worth double points, so the lower finishing drivers still won't get much out of it. Everyone else close to the Top 24 has an easier opportunity to finish well and score more points in the regular Round 4 races. That will help close the gap to the lower Top 24 drivers or even move ahead in the rankings, so there's still a chance.

The higher placing Round 4 Top 24 drivers are almost guaranteed to make the Round 8 Top 24.

Blue Moon was definitely a race in which one needed get some practice with other people to understand the dynamics. I was fortunate to get that practice and it wasn't long before I was enjoying myself. Now, there were still incidents and there's no way I'm doing that combo as a daily. The main issue was actually having to manage fuel although I think that was by design.

@Cuber Tom has done some digging about the FIA points system and in a Top 24 race where the average DR is 70k (pretty likely in EMEA at least) everyone from 14th upwards will score at least 3,000 points. So basically anyone in the top 16 will score big and cement their places for the championship. It's the guys who finish 17-24th who can be still be realistically beaten in the remaining races.

Everyone else close to the Top 24 has an easier opportunity to finish well and score more points in the regular Round 4 races. That will help close the gap to the lower Top 24 drivers or even move ahead in the rankings, so there's still a chance.

Half true, the issue is the strength of the other Round 4 lobbies will take a hit because instead of spreading out across 4-5 timeslots the top guys are concentrated into the superstars race. Less points available than normal for everyone else, then because the Top 24 for the last round is mostly set less A+ drivers will be motivated to enter the remaining rounds, again restricting the number of points available later in the season.

The best thing most can hope for is for one of the Nissan drivers in Manufacturers to have a nightmare. For Nations, one of the Brits and/or Germans to screw up

I don't blame you, I thought it would be a slaughter too. The race ended up being really fun though. It seemed like after a lap or two everyone understood that jostling for position was pointless and it was a "for the good of the pack" type race until the final few laps.

I'm glad someone's watching them lol!

Nik's 3rd in Nations and 4th in Manufacturers... why couldn't they have made the Top 24 Superstars for the highest 24 drivers (highest 10 ranked on the leaderboard per country for Asia/Oceania) In point rankings?

From @Cuber Tom's research, was that from Top 24 races without base points? If so, any idea how may points people finishing 17-24 would get? I agree that it's more or less the bottom 8 from the Top 24 who would be vulnerable.

Looking at the rankings, there are a bunch of drivers with either a very low score or a 0 for one of their 3 top races. Since it's top 4 that count, even after the Top 24 race, they still would want to bring up the bad score to solidify their position, so I think a lot of points will still be available, even with a small handful that are guaranteed in who wouldn't need to enter (although I expect a lot will just for the practice.)

One other big thing to remember is that Season 2 does not matter other than the Star Player Achievement, so I doubt you will see the drop off in participation for this season. Even if A+ drivers won't make it to the Round 8 Top 24, they will still want to have enough points to be a Star Player and have a chance in the Final Season.

My qualy went horrible at Monza and I have no one to blame but myself. I screwed lap after lap. As a result I started 16, I even insulted out loud at my own suckiness . Note to self: next time do an okayish lap first and then push. I knew I had a pace to be faster than that.

First corner I overtake a couple of cars during braking without contact. But on the exit I get hit in the back and I had to lift to avoid spinning. Get overtaken by 2 cars. The next laps I overtake 6 cars perfectly clean :D. I leave the pack behind while they battle for position. I start to gain on 9th but a couple of small trips to the gravel made me lose time and I could not make it.

After changing tyres and refueling I end up 11th and alone. I catch up to 2 guys battling who didn't stop in 9th and 10th in the final lap I slightly tap on the back to one of them in the braking and he cuts the chicane with a penalty. I hate myself for it :banghead:, worst part is I didn't get a penalty. I leave them both behind and another visit to the gravel trap gives me a bad entrance into parabolica. I had a leftover of 0.001 for cutting slightly a chicane and as I run into the finish line I wasn't exactly sure were the finish line was to lift at the last moment, because I had someone right on my back, cross the finish line and I lose 9th as that 0.001 transforms into a full sec.
Finished 10th with 1238 pts.

Manufacturers with the Viper 13th in qualy. I had not practiced and I had never raced at Bmb online before so I had no idea about fuel consumption. Basically I went in blind as a bat .

I move up the field up to 4th everyone was fuel saving more than me and I had to pit 1 or 2 laps earlier than everyone else and all alone. Without a drafting partner I lost the pack and I was 10th alone. 11 and 12 caught me and we started bump drafting. One of those guys was @DriftMethod. Everything was fine until in a demonstration of gtsport collision magic. @DriftMethod got inside of the car behind me for a sec and the physics went crazy and the guy spun.

Someone was low on fuel, we gain a position but I got overtaken in the last lap. I should have tried to keep the inside line. Another 10th place:lol: and 1181 pts.

I am 28th in nations in America but, I will most likely be in the back in the 24 SS. We all know how bad the points are for backmakers. I don't think it will be worth it even with double points. I think I am a full second at least off pace. :boggled: Maybe I should get in just to have a vip spot to watch the real super stars race.

Manufacturers was a fun race!

One of the earlier laps I followed a pack of cars including some going 2 wide in the last turn. I was expecting a bit of mayhem and over reacted by hitting the brakes. Inadvertently causing the car behind me to bump me and lose all their speed, which I feel bad about since they were bump drafting with me to catch the cars ahead.

After the pit stop, I was in a bit of a gap and found another car that I bump drafted for multiple laps until we caught up with @Ofuscor. I have no idea if a 3 car bump draft train is a good idea, but I went for it and the car in the middle spun out. I don't have the replay, but I thought we were all in a straight line, so no idea how they spun out.

If I remember correctly, Ofuscor and I bumped drafted the last few laps and passed a car that looked like they were desperately trying to save fuel. Ofuscor had a penalty (which I think was due to contact we had early in the race and I believe was just a racing incident with no fault on either of us,) so I pulled out of the draft on the last lap to get the position.

For the first superstars race since there are no base points and the points are doubled, the points for the winner is very close to 1/10 of the lobbies average DR score.
So if the average DR is 70k the race winner will get slightly more than 7k points. Since last place always gets 0 points, and the points scale linearly you can find a step of about 300 points for each position.
So the points should look something like this:
1st = 7000
2nd = 6700
3rd = 6400 and so on.

I might do a post about the calculation if enough people are interested. Unlike the DR calculations, there's not much to gain by knowing the FIA formula. All you can really do with it is calculate the average DR of the lobby and predicted points for the superstars races

S DR is just a letter that means you're able to race superstar races. A lot of A/B/A+ drivers are S now, so probably your room was full of these that had S DR but low DR (A/B). Since you're A+, you won't win much points.

Yesterday for example, i had 72.2k DR, won my race worth of 2500 season points (i took a look at my DR bar on my profile and by my estimate i won at least 1k DR on this race, so id be at roughly 73k). Then finished 16th on manufacturers, went down to 71.9k.

Your DR is always updated after the end of a sport mode race.

Thanks for sharing. That's more points than I thought, so yeah, even harder than I imagined for those outside of the Top 24. So like @Tidgney mentioned, Country and Region play a big part, Manufacturer choice also.

I'd be interested in seeing any calculations you have.

Sure it wasn't a very strong room but still full of S at 80% and my A+ bar level didn't move any mm ....

In theory since you were car #8 there were 7 people in the room with higher DR than you, but it must’ve been close to not see much DR gain. That’s what we were discussing for like 4 pages on this thread, how S rank just confuses things and how it should just be a star or colour beside your name, not a DR letter.

I’m losing faith in my knowledge of DR though, since last night I finished 13th with car #15 and lost DR, and finished 8th with car #3 and gained DR. Both minuscule amounts but still...

I never had a penalty during that race I even got the clean race bonus! Maybe the Ai predicted a penalty for me due to lag?
I have the replay saved I can look that part up. But right now I can't reach gtsports servers:irked:.

@praiano63 why is your game in french ?
I'm french born in Marseille, i've left France at 20 years old and 35 years living in Brasil.
For the game , i use french because i hate inches and lbs, this don't speak to me at all. So french metrics units , till PD offer us the metric option for english that most of the people who are using my tunes are from (US mainly). It could be portugues too of course.
That's the reason why...
