Completely agree Martin, I enjoyed watching you guys on Nurb event this year more than any F1 race so far this year. With the right decisions and support this can still come out very good.

As for points system, it's completely broken as long as the cap sits on 75k and thats why you get low points in very strong lobby sometimes, not to mention people getting kicked out and reducing the points. We all know the issues, PD doesn't or simply don't give a xxxx

After I read the longer posts of you, the first thought through my mind was: most of the issues would be clarified if PD would be communicating not only to us fans, but at all

In times of social media, I assume they could start a marketing machinery easier/cheaper then as 10 years ago

And to the subject of communicating to us, why not explaining decisions more? Why that fear that they will be attacked from everyside if say do so? My feeling is, they are under attack -even for good decisions- especially when they cover it with silence.

After so many changes, nobody really knows how the penalty systems still works exactly for example.

Its like a company of mysteries and riddles.

To be honest I don't know a *** about leading a company and all this stuff, but anyway I have the feeling PD is missing that the younger people live in open communication and transparency-social-media times, and therefore a temple of silence doesn't come good

Its so frustrating this issue gets no traction because its such a "1% problem" but its such a big issue in EMEA races, especially with the 'DR Matchmade' Round 6 Top 24 coming up. I'm sick of being stuck at 75k and 1 outlier result sending me tumbling back down to 73100.

Personally I think the level of practice this game needs to be competitive is a credit to the game and the talent of the players. I think there are very few top players who don’t practice for these events especially at the top, and at the end of the day IMO very few things in life are achieved with no effort and it should be no different in this game. If someone doesn’t have time to practice as much as necessary (me being one off them, try my best with the time I’ve got) then unfortunately it’s how life is sometimes not everyone gets the same opportunities.

I’m hopeful the recognition will come with the live events for those that qualify, I have no doubt it will be a great event.

The points system and GR4 really are issues. I mean the points currently from even the highest split race, span the entire DR range, if you come last you get 0. So any DR could out score that and would be higher on the leaderboard which is never right. It’s a massive achievement to get in these top split races on its own, getting 0 is just demoralising. Those races are intense, just a tenth or two lost in qualifying makes a huge difference and it’s not like your can cruise past the field. These are fast and consistent from the front of the grid to the back, this definitely needs more recognition.

For those who are interested my Nations Cup on Brands Hatch at the bottom half of the EMEA Top Lobby.
I wanna say sorry to those who got included into the small chain reaction i caused in the second corner, but i was surprised by the early braking. :O
The unnecessary 1 sec penalty for corner-cutting cost me 2 places in the end. :ouch:

If anyones interested both races are now uploaded...

The hilarious mistake;

The epic overtake;

Shout out to the 2 guys involved in that overtake and all the action prior to it, great clean racing there! Absolutely loved racing you both :D!

:D

If PD don't DQ multi account cheaters in the final season then I'm coming back with 5 accounts next year :D

MattyOnTour (USA)
MattyEmViagem (BRA)
MattyDeGira (Spain)
MattyOnTourNZ (NZ)
Mattyツアーで (Japan)

there you have it :D

I can't believe you can talk while racing and not loose concentration

Yeah, i find it fascinating people that can drive and talk at the same time. If i don't have 100% focus on racing i dont perform.

When I’m playing I focus 100% and can’t find any speed and make mistakes and if I get in a conversation with my girlfriend and go on autopilot I pick up half a second

Some of the talking is literally just my thoughts, other times I just talk to the viewers about stuff or questions they have xD! To be honest I get so zoned in like with the miscount of laps that my problem is that I'm to focused on the race :P. It's great sometimes when everyone has a good talk about stuff, great fun love it when everyone tunes in :D!

You'd all hate to listen to me on a party chat mid race, I can talk.

If @F4H Rosso's video of the Tokyo race in Season 1 captured the chat it would've just been 20 minutes of Calster and I providing a running commentary and analysis of the driving around us and me turning into Jenson Button complaining about the Gr4 458's high speed understeer

If anyone's seen my stream its basically an incoherent rambling at all times

I’m definitely sticking with something with the engine in the front for that Yamagiwa race. I can pretty much guarantee I’ll be the only one using the car I’m using, but it’s what I’m fastest and most comfortable with.

Got nothing to lose in Nations anyway

Nothing wrong with that

I think that the penalty count will be the winner on the day for tonight's racing. The penalties at Kyoto are severe to say the least. In qualifying completing a clean lap will get ya right up the front

I have a quick question.

PD have just uploaded this article onto the website:

https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/news/00_1436595.html

It's the announcement of the victory commemoration bonus, as I am from EU region and driving for Nissan I assume this
means that I get the bonus but I haven't seen any notification of this in game yet, when was the bonus issued as I know
this has been talked about before?

I just wonder if it is possible to complete the race without penalty. Good luck mate:cheers:

Hang on, you're that fast NZ guy that I've seen occasionally racing with Nik_Makozi in his FIA streams right?

If so, you should try to go and do the 2nd session Manufacturer's race and 3rd session Nation's race, that's where all the big points are usually ;) (Nik, Akagi, s_shohei, Kawakana, Goriraichi, ArrowCG, yukiku, Lion-Face go to those sessions almost every race of the last 2 seasons (apart from the Top 24s)) The only downside is that you have about 8-6 minutes in-between races to reacquaint yourself with your chosen car for Nations, but it's worth it if you can get a good result. :)

EDIT: Accidentally selected something at random and dragged a GTP emoji into this as an attachment, sorry.

I kept checking the site everyday because I wanted to enjoy the commentary, we've seen the highlights of the first top 24 but I want to the full race with commentary. To be honest if they can't get anyone to commentate Wednesdays and Saturdays I'll do it...
I would like that.
Especially if you would be participating in video editing of highlights,
because that "Top 5 moments" video looks amateur and made in 10mins.
