I was in your lobby. That freakin' hurt, really sorry that you got disconnected. I had that happen one time when I was in 5th place near the end of a race in Season 2 and felt the same way.
I saw that when you got your best time during quali, you had 1 red bar, and saw that most of us had 3-6 bars. What sucks is that the problem can be any one or multiple things (ISP, connection to PSN, PD/GTSport, etc.) and isn't our fault (generally speaking).
Hopefully things improve connection-wise. These disconnects shouldn't be happening to anyone.
I don’t even know why I had one bar, when my download speed was 55 mbps and my NAT Type was 2. Unreal.

Forgive me father, for I have Meganed.

But forgive us our Megannings, as we forgive those who use Meganes against us.

I enjoyed todays Megannigans in the Nations cup, where 8 of us used them. The nerf has had no effect, as soon as you get passed on a straight you can slipstream to make up for lack of speed...at least on Kyoto.

Enjoyed La Croix aside from being kocked from podium to rump before the bridge, not due to anyones fault but just a huge mass of cars skidding into each other and a bad recovery. Am finding the flow of that B course now though, and taking that corner after the bent straight a lot faster, carrying the speed into it, with the right line it's not too slow.

So, I finished 6th in Nations and I'm waiting to do Manufacturer's until later. Room was quite top heavy and an extra tenth or two for qualifying would've had me much closer to the front at the start than 8th. I ended up losing speed through the second corner and I was apparently not pushing hard enough as my tires looked the best out of everyone out there. I had fun out there considering an average performance on my end but 1,522 points for all of that? Well, I literally just watched someone in the next slot finish the same spot as me in a room where I would've started further up front; they received 1,826 points. Another room where I would've started 2nd. 1,717 for 6th.

All I can do is laugh but, hey! At least I didn't lose any more points from results screen to final. Yay?

Manufacturer - Sainte Croix B - Viper Gr. 3

The following GIF perfectly sums up my Viper when it came to fuel in this race:
giphy.gif

Anyways.. In the first half of the race I was able to be in the Top 2, but after pitting, I was down to 6th place and finished there. I had to adjust the fuel meter twice so I wouldn't run out of fuel.

I'm still very happy with the outcome of the race. I performed MUCH better in this race, compared to the last one (16th). I'm taking home 1177 points, and I will celebrate with... water. Yeah. Water.

I was in that race too. I finished 4th but should have had 3rd or even 2nd. The guy who got 2nd was lagging a bit as well so AMS_Doogy (I think) and I were taking it easy behind him. At the end I made a big mistake and cut one of the last turns for a penalty, if it wasn’t for that I could have had 3rd for sure maybe 2nd if it weren’t for the lagging guy up there. Not bad for being ranked last in the room, lol.

It’s always good to see and race some GTP members, cheers :gtpflag::cheers:

I was in 1st for the first 2-3 laps and then I started to understeer quite a bit. I think this is actually from my controller since my controller sometimes likes to disconnect itself for like half a second when I'm playing. [strike] I need a new controller and a wheel + pedal lol [/strike] Person behind me caught up and then that's when I had the fuel problems. But again, still a good race and happy with result.

Cheers! :gtpflag:

Trashy qualifying session in the Nations Cup race due to stupid penalties. I mean really stupid. I take one tyre off the road and I get a 4 second penalty. I had to start 17th in my Citroen, with a field dominated by Megane Trophies. In the first lap alone I gained 8 positions, and by the end of lap 3, I was in 6th place. Not bad from the back of the field. I pitted on lap 8 and dropped back to 7th, and couldn't really do much more than that. The lead guys were gone. However my race was far from over. A New Zealander who started behind me was keen to get by. I stayed in front of him for quite a while, until I went wide at the tight hairpin and he got past. Fair enough. I kept my line when he suddenly lost the rear end in front of me, and having nowhere to go, I bumped into him. He then messaged me saying that I ruined his race. I did not make him spin out, so he must've seen something different on his screen. It was definitely lag but he saw that as a lame excuse when I told him... So I sent him some images to prove that I didn't hit him. No response. I left the discussion. But gaining 10 places is definitely an achievement.

Do you mean DR points or FIA points? If it's DR is there an easy way to know?

DR Points

Well I’m not 100% sure, but as soon as you join the session for an FIA race they list you in order, and I was 20th. This may just be a coincidence, but every time my SR is at 99 and I make it in a lobby with really fast guys, the big names are at the top (A+/S) and I’m near the bottom. The times when I’ve screwed up my SR before FIA day and I end up being one of the only A drivers in the lobby, I’m listed near the top.

I’m really lucky that fuel wasn’t an issue for me in the Lancer because I just ignored it, lol

Nations Cup: i absolutely struggled on this track. Couldnt get my **** together with the Megane/Cayman/4c. Tried all 3, didnt feel confortable with any. Citroen was absolutely crap here. I chose the Megane because of its tyre wear. As a DS4, it's a must that i pick a good car on that. I decided to change slots, when for 1-Nations 2-Manu. I needed points in nations after the bad result in round 1, but this room was even worse. Had almost half of the top 10 in time trial here, 3 people disconnected during loading, one more on qualy. Room had 16 people. Only 2.2k for the winner.

Qualy was average, couldve run a better lap. Managed to not get one pen the whole race, which was great. Something weird happened on my screen, the laptimes werent showing. Never seen that before.

Manufacturers Cup: Qualy was decent, lost a bit of time in the last sector because one guy decided to burn his pen on the racing line, and i wasnt sure if his car would unghost in front of me, so i had to avoid him. Race was INSANE. I wont even spoil, it's worth it to watch the whole thing. Enjoy!

Tracks limits on FIA races are way too strict. 10 seconds penalty today at Manufacturer's for touching 1 cm of the grass twice cost me precious positions and a bit of concentration. Can't understand PD's decisions. If they want to punish us for not having the precision of a machine, make such penalties a fraction of a second, but not 5 secs.

Apart from that, had a fun and clean race with excellent drivers.

For once in my life, I put together a great qualifying and started 3rd. Held it at the start and I started believing I actually had enough to win a top split race.

Then I get absolutely punted off the corner at the end of the long straight and dropped to 14th. I couldn't even get mad about it because this is how FIA lobbies are turning out to be nowadays. That's all I'm going to say about this lest I regret putting it out publicly.

Felt really sorry for you. I saw the whole thing, was watching a stream. The guy was like 50m late on braking on draft.

He then punted Perro later in the race in another very very very late braking.

Disgraceful stuff.

Here is a benchmark lap for the next Nations race. I managed a quick 56.9 and last Daily Race with this combo I ran a 56.6 which if I remember correctly was top 25 worldwide. The penalties are much stricter now so I can probably get a .7 but hopefully this is a good place to start for early practice.

I had the worst time with that false start in manufacturer's cup. I've never done one in my life, and I couldn't find any way to practice it in the game.

So I got pole, and it was for nothing as I had the false start penalty, and it stopped me on the spot for five secs (while unghosted... yeah...).
So I went from first to last before the first corner xD

But the recovery race was amazing, those were some fun and fair battles! I think I had the pace to get back to first, however I went wide in one turn and lost some time. In the final lap I got two more positions, climbing back to 4th place, worth of 1500 hundred points! I'm kinda okay with it, just because that race was so much fun!

I just caught that on my replay. Holy cow! What a mess! And to think an apology post-race made up for not giving a single position back on the track to anyone he affected.

Well, onto the next race where the Jaguar will definitely not be anywhere near the front.

Bluescreen during my qualifying for nations... Mid lap. Ty pd.
Somehow MFG race made me even more mad. Brutal driving from others...
giphy.gif

30 seconds later someone forcing his way in, i yield room but that's apparently not enough so 4s pen to me for that second contact.
giphy.gif

then another dive, with a side of karma (radar action)
giphy.gif

and the icing on the cake. punted so hard it destroys my engine and i putt along until im 15th before i can resume racing...

I love when people say "I'm sorry" in the after race when he knows he's at fault but doesnt give the position back on track.

I tuned in right as that chaos was about to unfold and maybe I brought bad luck. But it's a horrible decision for PD to almost completely get rid of collision penalties. And they have strict track limit penalties! It should be the other way around!

Ghosting is seriously backwards too.

Been a while, so long that I forgot to post this race (which went well).

Round 1 - Dragon Trail Gardens:

So qualifying was just bad, The new track limits were just brutal. Considering the car I was driving, those curbs were the only reason I could get it to turn on this track at times. Race went a lot better (even with this one jerk in the Evo that for some reason just has had out for me in both qualifying and the race). Climbed up and finished 3rd.

Round 2 - Circuit De Sainte Croix

Decided to wait until I got clear track and then went out. Qualified 8th, not exactly my best I felt but it was mistake free so there was that. Then came the race start and...wow, seems like people forgot that False Starts were a thing as I climbed from 8th to 3rd just before Turn 1 (which never happens for me). Then I made a pass on a ORMA driver for the lead (another thing that never happens. Framing that for life). Had a good battle with this Argentine guy in a GT-R for a bit, swapping the lead at various times and making making mistakes. Completely blew it in the pits though as I took more fuel then I needed and fell from 2nd to 4th, But only due to a last lap mistake in the last corner by one guy I managed to take another 3rd.

I went into the race with low hopes as I dont like the new track and the GT-R has bad standing start.
As it turned out, it was 1 of my favourite FIA races altogether.
Just because I raced 10 laps, and didnt participated in the eco-train.
Thunder, Im amazed how you handled that green Audi R8. 👍

Polyphony should make at least 3 or 4 videos to show online players how to attack-defend, when to attack-defend and racing lines before enters the sport mode.

They won't care and still dive-bombing but...
This. At the very least, force us to watch these videos like they do in racecraft and sportsmanship. Making them fun to watch could help a bit, like how they made their first two videos nice enough for me to watch 4 times.

This could be so much better with actual racecraft campaign events that are required to venture to Sport mode or something of the sort, but I believe the former option is at least easy enough to code and make that it doesn't take months to achieve
