In the nations I learned that the Hyundai Genesis Gr.3 eats it front tyres, but is pretty good on fuel. Think I should have gone for the Lexus.

Qualification was very close with 0.25 secs separating the top 10, with me in 8th. Got a decent start, and the carnage at the 1st corner was actually quite muted, so everyone managed to get around and I came out in 5th place. Got overtaken by a guy in a porsche and stayed in 6th until the pits, where I managed to jump a couple of people. I was right on the tail of the guy in 3rd, but just couldn't stay with him as my tyres went off again.

I managed to hold on to the last lap but then got caught by the same guy in the Porsche, and he managed to get past me through a nice move in the first few corners.

5th place and 1298 points is fine for me :)

Manufacturers was quite good. Qualified in 4th, and after a solid start the front 4 (me still in 4th) managed to get away a little. Guy in 1st drove a perfect race in his Hyundai, no mistakes at all. He was put under a little pressure in the 1st couple of laps, but he was always a little faster and steadily pulled away, leaving the other 3 (Audi, Porsche and VW) in a squabble for 2nd.

The guy in the Porsche had a little more pace at the end of the stints, but couldn't find a clean way past the Audi, got a bit impatient and gave himself penalties while I just sat back and waited. Eventually I got my chance when they collided on the 1st corner of the 5th lap. I took advantage and jumped them both, but just didn't have enough pace to pull away and the audi jumped me at the pitstops a lap later.

After the pitstops I was in 3rd, and that is where I stayed. Couldn't catch the Audi in front, but had 3 secs on the Porsche behind. Was quiet until the end but very happy to pick up 1709 points for it.

One thing I didn't realise was that the Audi was actually better on tyre than the VW
 
Nations. I picked the Lancer, I made it golden yellow and shiny with the new paint. I led the race for 10 laps, out front like a northern star for all else to follow.


I ran out of fuel after the last corner and coasted to the finish line in 2nd place. Ah well, it's only a game.

I raced against you in the same lobby in Nations Cup! In fact I finished the race just in front of you haha. I was P5/P6 before pit stop (i don't remember exactly) and after that I came out in P3, just in front of you, the french guy with the Porsche and other british guy with Subaru, who was in front of me before pit stop and I was unable to overtake him on track. You were a little bit faster than me in the next 2 laps after leaving the pits but I started to ride faster than you and held the position. Very fun race 👍
 
I qualified at the Nations cup at P5, worth of 1800 points, less then 0.1s behind third place! This was the opportunity to secure myself at the live event!! Aaaaanddd... I was threw back to 13th at turn 1 -.-
And then I was stuck in traffic for most of the time, I decided to pit early (now I noticed that if I pitted two laps earlier it might've been a different race) to try getting some clean air only to be stuck again behind a nonstopper... It was rough. Finished p9 and mad...

And Manufacturer's: I joined the 80-90 SR lobby, because... I've already decided to focus on the nations cup, so I decided to just recover my SR on it. And I was surprised to have a nice challenge on a lobby that only gave 670 points! It was a really enjoyable race against a porsche driver! :lol: It involved a lot of playing around the penalties, and it was fun! :confused: 💡

Kinda shows that sometimes its important to not take it so seriously! :gtpflag:

Manufacturer - Kyoto: Yamagiwa - Viper Gr. 4

"I would've gotten away with 5th place, if it weren't for you meddling penalties!" -Some villain from Scooby Doo.

10th to 7th. I could've finished in 5th, but I had a steep penalty to pay (11 seconds). I got 939 points. Before this race (or now since the results won't update 'till later) I'm barely hanging on to S/S at 199th place in region, so HOPEFULLY this keeps me within Top 200.
 
Nations second time slot in Asia, probably second split
Qualy went wide at Schumacher S for 0.5xx penalty, continued on as it was my only flyer for P5
Went for the full fuel burn pre race to try to gain as many places as possible on the opening lap or two
Intense racing with a Japanese for the lead in the closing laps, P2 in the end for 18xx points
Forgot to clear space to save the replay as I felt a bit robbed from a slight bump, could've been lag,
Back on track to scrape into Aussie top 10, will be close
 
So before the FIA race starts for me, last week's races.


Round 7:

Qualifying was ok-ish. Race itself was a exercise in finesse and keeping it on the island. Other then a punt off by one car, all was fine and then really racheted up as I was being caught by another car. 6th place was not bad.




Round 8:

Another place I felt that if I just stay out of trouble, things would be ok. Qualifying certainly seemed to give me a great shot at doing that as I ended up second. However this is Monza and you can guess how lap 1 went. Needless to say, 6th was all I was getting.

Two fun races today.

I wasn't expecting much at Kyoto with the Jaguar and once I saw the poor points in the room, I realized there was no shot at knocking off a low round. Someone hit me early in qualifying which I think messed up my tires because none of the fliers felt good. Still, I started 5th with what looked like a time that indicated I'd be running a peaceful race on my own.

But of course not. Looked like those behind me set really bad times because I had a McLaren and GT-R right on top of me. I had to set the brake balance to something crazy just to make the Jag turn but it proved quite hard to handle in traffic. I may have slipped to 8th at one point but the upside was that I was at the end of the lead pack. The downside is that I had to push the revs too much to stay with them and I didn't get any real fuel advantage in the pits. I did jump a car or two but while I tried defending, it proved too hard to keep pushing. I did beat one car ahead of me due to penalties to finish 6th. I needed 4th to gain anything which wasn't happening with the cars that finished ahead of me. Frankly, I'm not liking the chances of Jaguar making the Top 16 right now.

I went with the Lancer for Nations because I simply was faster in it than the 911 which I found odd. I ended up in a 911 sammich by starting 3rd. I was able to keep one 911 behind and I was matching pace with the leader but it required revving out the car a little more than I wanted. By the end of Lap 6, I was just out of slipstream range with both 911s and I realized that pace alone wasn't going to cut it. Therefore, I decided to skip the pits and looked at the fuel numbers. Unfortunately, I used up a bit more fuel than the 911s so no advantage there. When I saw tons of arrows staying out on track, I took a risk and assumed it was a train of cars that were going to no-stop or stay out much longer and the 911s were going to be held up by them. Not sure if that was the case but I did stay out yet another lap and then came to pit.

On exit, I almost got passed by the 911 that was 3rd but managed to hold the position. Unfortunately, the leader now had a 5 second gap instead of 2. I cut that by half at the end and ran the fastest lap. Ultimately, the strategy failed but the risk wasn't that high anyways. I did knock off my lowest round by a good margin and so my prospects for Nations regionals got better.

@Jomas should assist you into getting Jaguar into the Top 16. Though it's also not helped by some guy who is on level with me as the fastest Jaguar driver in Asia scoring lowly points as a result...

That's why I'm not liking the Jag's chances. Jomas and I could do everything in our power but we may get left out because of Asia's results.

I did check my Nations replay. Wow, my gamble was so close to actually working. The leading 911 barely made it in front of that train of cars but the other one didn't. This is where having someone in my ear to tell me what's going on would've helped.
 
Horrible Nation race for me today.
I've enter the race at the last minute runing from my pizza job to my wheel still dirty of flour . :scared:
Then i haven't jad time to check the rules and for my big surprise it was a standing start .
After trying to put the traction control without success i've taken 5 sc penalty with a false start.
After messing with the buttons i've made the race with a brake balance at 5 , needed 4 laps sideway most of the slow turns before taking this out .
Starting in last position , i've passed the last player but he bump me out of the road 2 times during the first half of the race.:dopey:
The second half was more quiet and i've finished 13th ..... i hope the next race will flow normally , i like to race Le Mans and i hope i'll do a good fun race there.
 
Round 9 - Nations:

Had to run a late slot so I missed the Nico, Wardez et al. room. Stuck it on pole with a 56.9 and never looked back. TRL_doodle got the gap down to 1.5 seconds therefore enacting a vigorous cardiovascular exercise for yours truly.

Round 9 - Manufacturers:

This was an unbelievably exciting race. FT_McQueen and HondaRacer1185 diced with me throughout. McQueen took his stop a lap later than HR and I, and we were within a second of each other. McQueen came out of the pits and slotted between us! The vehicular battle continued until the end of the race. Both McQueen and I had penalties to serve at the end (mine a bit more to serve than the gap I had on him coming out of the final corner,) and we crossed the finish neck and neck, 35 thousandths, a magazine sized margin. My cat flipped out due to my sudden (and rather loud) exaltation immediately following. Memorable to say the least!!

Nations cup: Decent qualy and race. I like Nurb but i didnt have time to practice for todays race properly, and it wouldnt make any difference for my final scores. Still got a good result.



Manufacurers cup: Terrible qualy and race. Again, lacked practice, strong lobby, ok result.

I feel pretty bad about my race today. Qualified 14th, Finished 11th. Just wasn't feeling it the whole time, cut some corners for penalties, my exits were awful, missed apexes ... Embarrassing.
 
Not sure about how I feel about the last t24 race being 2.5 times the points in comparison to any regular lobby.

The takes away any chance of staying in the top 10 in my region because I’m not an S rated driver. Currently there is 3 Americans with a A+ rating that won’t be racing in the t24 lobby.

The makes it almost impossible for the people who are fast enough but don’t have the time/rating to make the Regional finals.

I’d love to see you and another drivers driving round a circuit showing things like how to drive side by side in a corner and the lines you have to take in that situation, when you have the right to take the proper racing line even if it may slightly impede your rival, who has corner right when side by side.

I know these things will be common knowledge to a lot of people but this is the first sim I’ve played really and after the race I often think should I have done that. When there is contact I think who’s fault was that.

Right I'll add it to the list, I'll try start something once this FIA season ends, I'm also doing BoP tests again once this season ends, although I might have a chill week first as it's been pretty nuts this summer! Hopefully I can bring something to you guys that helps the situation. Last night the internet died for the PC stream, and was off until midnight so I couldn't even watch the GT Sport official races which was frustrating, but that race again was a perfect example of racing smart (Not just me either) and pulling off an unbelievable result.

I know, I'm gutted.... 2 streams in a row internet issues. I'm just hoping it's the network upgrade the companies done that just needs a bit of tweaking. I can understand new technology having some initial issues so I'm hoping it's fixed and we can get to streams of old. I'm fortunate in that I've got 2 ISPs. The PS4 runs off the more stable FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet) connection and my internet ISP uses some wireless technology from my house to their dish, which relays it 8 miles away to a Fibre connection. They've upgraded the relay dish recently which is the cause I believe.

I edited the VoD last night and is currently uploading, so when I go on lunch tonight at work I'll check to make sure it's ok and release it. Can only offer my apologies again, as I said on stream on Saturday, "Bloody internet".

Nations

Qualified P3. Came out of first corner in P4, gained a position when P2 tried too hard at the hairpin to overtake P1. Stayed behind P2 for a while, until P4 joined us and passed me at the hairpin. However, I gained two positions in pits and I was able to keep it that way until the end of the race. Got my best points result of the season.



Manufacturers

Ugh... got a penalty on my fastest attempt in qualifications. Started in P11, got divebombed at the hairpin on the 1st lap. Had a couple more bruises and even received a 3 sec penalty after someone got bashed into me on the 3rd lap. Made a costly mistake while following P13, went into the grass, spun out, came out in last place. Eventually gained some positions, but it was already too late. Let's hope I can shake off this one saturday.

 
I did my First Nations race last night just to see what it was like. I qualified 4th but dropped to the back at the start because I didn’t want to ruin anyone’s points tally (they all had points already). Found it really fun and pretty clean (B/S)

Did the whole race in fuel map 2 and 3 (so people could overtake me on the straights if they wanted) and climbed to 8th just by not making mistakes.

For any newbies - like me - I was faster with ASM off than I have been the whole week in daily race B using he same car (Pug) and yet with stricter track limits of the Nations. Counter steer was off by default and I had my TC at 1 or 2 depending where I was in the track
 
Oh and respect to @kie25 . I tried out a few cars in free practise and that SLS Merc is horrible (IMO). I like the other Merc but I’m more consistent in one of the slower, lighter cars like the Pug and Z4
