The first FIA races after Paris went off without a hitch.

...

My Kaz. That was brutal. Not much practice. Top split Nations disconnected twice for everyone in NA except for one person. I decided to do Manu because I wanted to race at least once. WRX was the slowest car on the grid by miles. A one second penalty cost me over five seconds of track position with how slow it is accelerating. To think Monza and Barcelona are also Gr4 races. I see zero reason to run those except for one reason which I'll get to later.

At least the final Nations slot worked but by then, I was rusty and of course, I get blocked on my first flier. My two other fliers had way too much fuel on board so I could've started 6th-8th instead of 11th. Had some nice battles but only got up to 9th which was respectable given the other names on the grid.

Unfortunately, the issue with 2nd split rooms giving almost as good points as top split has come to NA and it's even worse. Looking at the standings, I was 9th fastest in a tough room and yet, I'm 36th in the points. As someone mentioned earlier, the winner of 2nd split is 3rd in the standings right now. It's early but as it stands, tanking your DR in NA is a legitimate strategy if you can't podium in a top split room. I'm seriously considering doing it in the interim until I can somehow get a TGT and find more speed. Thankfully, there is an easy way to lower my DR without a reset.

It's called driving the Slowbaru.

This was the only top split race that worked in north america. The other two races everyone dc except for me. PD just has no idea how to do this internet thing.

Imagine thinking A SR is good

Who said I thought it was good? Lol. I was simply stating what my rank was going in and out of the race to show how many points were lost. What a strange thing to flex about, if thats the best thing you have to brag about you must live a pretty sad life lol.

Well surely if you knew your SR wasn't good, you shouldn't be so surprised and upset that your race was a complete wreckfest, no? You were clearly pretty emotionally invested as otherwise you wouldn't have taken the time to write that... err... 'passionate' essay in this thread

Did my first FIA Manufacturers races yesterday and i had a lot of fun.
Quailfied 3rd in the first with a 6th finish, and in the next i qualified 6th and ended up on the podium.

Can someone explain how the points are calculated ?
It looks like only one race for the night counts ?

The problem with the SR system is even if you drop a little it can eventually spiral if you cant get it back up. Doesn't matter how good you are if you are caught in a group who doesn't care about keeping clean.

Yes I was just as surprised when I was reading your post and suddenly realised the Aston driver you mentioned was me

It was a good clean fight and really enjoyable, same to you I'll add you as a friend when I am online later unless you send one before. Hopefully see you on track soon bud

So its N300 next on dragon trail gardens.

I don't understand why the BOP is so sporadic, How can you have a 900kg 250bhp car vs a 265 bhp 1,300kg car and says it's fair. Why even bother saying its N300, just add a car and a track and make a race. This way everyone will understand what the goals are.

Normally there is a bit of variation between cars and you can go for maybe 4 cars and be pretty competitive, but this round looks like a 2 horse race, between the f50 and the xbow.

Both of which I have no time for, what makes me more annoyed is that there are so many N300 cars we never get to race properly, sitting there in our garages getting wasted and unusable, due to BOP.

Yesterday manufacturer EU account. Little touch that cost only 1 place , not a big deal .
Just saying that the porsche didn't take any penalty on this move. Is it a fault or not ??

imho the Porsche should've hold back. The gap was too small. Was better if he set himself well up to pass on the chicane.

Wouldn’t consider him a troll when you insulted him in your first post (psst he’s one of the guys who made it to the world tour psst), and honestly if you were expecting a DR:A race to be clean in that absolute **** show of a track then I have bad news for you. Even at 99SR that race track was a disaster.

Sure thing bud, But you did have the time AND the interest to come on here and write an essay calling each and every FIA racer **** numerous times just because you had a bad experience in a low SR room.

Did you think nobody would take issue with you attacking people who had absolutely nothing to do with your race? Sorry we don't live up to your racecraft standards, o almighty one

I agree, BUT Some players do want to win, some just want to race and enjoy the aspect of racing others. The majority of players don't seem to be racing for glory. So, just use the N300 cars you like.

Yeah, I know it's pretty much one race and done on Wednesday. When I see that much of a trend to one or two cars, I go for the underdog.

Lmfao, Tried my first FIA race today... Went in an A:SR and left being a D:SR trying to stay away from all the carnage! Started 4th and in Turn 1 I held back to let the scum sort themselves out but they took out the top 3 and the top 3 turned out to be dirtier than everyone else!
I was punted into the wall at every turn and guys would sideswipe me on every pass... My car eas sideways more than it was straight! I would catch back up and get wiped out at every pass, they would just blatantly veer across the track to pin me against the wall. This is absolute trash.

You guys can have this garbage!Iwill never go near this pathetic **** again. I watched the Paris event and realized that even the "best" players onthis gAmee are dirty pathetic pieces of ****. Anyone that watched that garbage and thought it was good racing is the same dirty piece of **** that thrives in this horrible excuse of a "sim" game.

Before idiots say I was the cause of anything to drop that far... I have the replay and have already sent it in to PD (not that they give a ****about it). I caused two incidents but that was long after the ******** that put me to the back and I realized this race was for teaching others to **** off.

Assholes were trying so hard to take people out thry were ghosting when trying to sideswipe.

This game is done, the children have taken over.

Went back to daily's and had two seconds and a first, was blissful compared to the bastards in FIA. If anyone from FiA actually cared to watch this **** they would quickly realize they need to get their name as far from this trash as possible! Did anyone see that garbage they called racing at the Paris event? Thats your best? Lmao... What a sorry group
That was your first FIA race, it was only the first round of a 40 round season where only a 1/4 of your best scores count in the end. If you didn't know SR A is not advisable to enter FIA then fair enough. Strictly speaking SR 91 (discovered recently) is needed for "top split" and the next best splits for "fair racing" but even then the midpack battles can get dirty when everyone is trying to get a few more points to scrape into any live final.

EDIT: just saw your last post, you think you're frustrated now, just wait until you get a bunch of disconnects...

I'm sure you can do it without the TGT but tank away cos you still have the player base.
Also shame about the disconnects, they thought they fixed them in the last update.

That's exactly what happened to me in nations, got caught in a midpack battle, I also made some mistakes and dropped to SR 61.

So new to the FIA thing but is the X-Bow the best car? I can't seem to find a car I get along with within a few seconds of it. Am I wasting my time even bothering to test other cars?

Thanks for the restarting advice by the way, had no issues for the last races and the pit glitch.

Like I posted above, Do you want to win? Do you just want to race? Do you want to be competitive? Do you want an easy car to use? Do you want a challenging car to use? What is your favorite car in this class or one you can tune to N300?

It appears the X-Bow and F50 are the tools for qualifying. Doesn't mean everyone who uses it, will get the same results. The 996 911 is pretty competitive over a race distance. If you have the funds, maybe the GT40. Depends what you want to get out of the event.

The North American lobbies were pretty rough this weekend. The first two attempts ended in a disconnect for almost all top split drivers in the Nations. Finally, the 3rd attempt worked with only 2 disconnects. This caused a big drop in the overall lobby points. the points went from 3k to 2.7k.

Almost the whole lobby chocked during qualifying. Traffic was pretty bad, and my qualifying strategy didnt work too well. In order to avoid traffic, I didnt burn fuel properly. This lead to both of my laps being off pace. My mistakes didnt help either.

The race went pretty smooth. I started 3rd and finished 3rd. The dirty air made it hard to make any moves. I attempted to push LLOYED into mistakes, but he kept it clean with a solid pace. Around lap 8 I backed off and began saving fuel and focused on avoiding any penalties.

Overall a great opener to the NA Nations.

When your SR gets low it's time to stop worrying about getting a good finish and worry instead about getting a clean finish. That's the way I always looked at it. Let people pass you for a race, get a good track position with a few seconds to spare ahead and behind you and just drive. Best do to it in a race C or FIA race since they are nice and long, a lot of sectors to get an SR+. Just have to survive those first 2 laps.

Started P15 in qualifying for the Manufacturer race using the BMW M4, had a hard time getting into the flow of the Tokyo Speedway track. I ended up finishing P9 in a very hard fought race, lots of cars battling for position in the midfield. My main aim was to finish the race with no penalties (through the chicane), but failed at doing so during Lap 2. The 2 second penalty results in losing out on 5 seconds on the total race time. Started the race off with Mediums at the front and Soft at the back and pitted on Lap 6, I think it ended working well in my favor. Lots of penalties in this one, which helped me out a lot.

So I had planned to focus Manufacturers for the official seasons since the 5pm slot on Wednesdays was the only one I could do this summer because of softball. With the daylight savings pushing all the slot back that's no longer the case and 5PM is now Nations. But, after my last rant on here I noticed the last Manu race has been pushed back to 10PM my time, which I should be home in time for, albeit tired, sore, more than a few beers deep and maybe a hoot, all with only one chance at the race, this could be fun. Given the quality of races I've been in lately I imagine that's how most people play the game anyways so I might just fit right in.

Quite the battle you had with that Ash character! Dunno who that could be... :D:dunce:

Did that race 3 times and I just couldn’t stay penalty free. As terrible as I am with AWD cars, I think I could have pulled a 6th or 7th place in that one without the couple penalties I had on top of that “R-rated” guy in the vette who messed us both up after serving his penalty. When I rammed into you when we were 3 wide it’s because he slammed me after I squeezed in the middle of you two. Before that he was weaving to not let me past but I said screw it and we went 3-wide. Fun race bud, but it was frustrating as well.

Haha I knew one day I would stumble into someone from my races in this forum. Yes very good race, was fun playing with you, very tough battle :p Appreciate the good race-craft.

Yeah I knew that guy was the one who rammed into you, he was having a hard time in that race (I think he started P5) with penalties and he ran into the wall during the exit and lost a bunch of speed, and I rammed into his bumper accidentally since I wasn't sure whether he was going to move out of the way. I think he was pretty upset and wanted to wreck other peoples races.

Yeah it was a tough race, I really tried to avoid the chicane penalties at all cost since I knew a decent result was achievable without getting any, so many people were getting them. Tires were complete rubbish by the end of their stints too, particularly for FR cars.

Good to see you too man, I’ve enjoyed watching you race in various peoples’ streams for awhile now.

Shucks man, I didn't think anyone ever noticed me since I'm just a quiet mortal and by no means an alien. Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it and hope to see you on the track again soon!
