Do you want to see the Gr4 Pug's tire wear at Autopolis after 4 laps? Mind you, I'm a wheel user with a reputation for not abusing the tires. :boggled:

Its quite interesting I think. I'm in the ferrari for those keeping score and im looking forward to this round. I think it's a challenge and don't mind the high tire wear to a point. It is just the outliers like toyota and alfa which are both fast and have great tire wear which need to be reigned in a little.

Welp, just had a Nations practice race where @yukiku did a no-stop in a Huracán, someone, probably the Swiss FT-1 driver, knocking all the essential brake markers, and me showing too much of my nose and ended up flinching Kk-san out enough to tag his rear wheels onto the super sucky bits and collecting @VulcanSpirit in the process exiting out of Lesmo 2 on the last lap.

1-stop with tyre change and refuel for Nations is the safe strategy, while no-stop and 1-stop splash and dash are the riskier ones.

Don't worry about that last lap incident - that was a great scrap for third/fourth towards the end. Having watched my capture of our practice race, I believe Kk-san should not have turned into you when you tried to pass him at Lesmo 2. The collision that followed was actually caused by him touching the gravel and losing control in front of me, just as you had started to draw ahead of him.

Have to agree with you on strategy - one stop with tyres/refuelling seems like a better option for me this time.

Hopefully this doesn't matter (and probably no one really cares) but PD have been a bit inconsistent in awarding points for ties between manufacturers.

Considering there were half points present in the table for last season's results, one would think the manu points for each round are averaged for ties.
https://www.gran-turismo.com/au/gtsport/news/00_1269115.html

However, so far this season there have been 3 ties with points distributed as follows:
Oceania Round 4 Chevrolet and Nissan: Tied for 17th place, average for 17th (9) and 18th (8) points is 8.5 but both awarded 8 points
CSA Round 6 Chevrolet and Peugeot and NA Round 6 Nissan and Subaru: Tied for 18th place, average for 18th (8) and 19th (7) is 7.5 points but both awarded 7 points

So it appears they just award the points corresponding to the lower place that is tied for to both manufacturers. Just another inconsistent/weird implementation of ties. Let's just hope it doesn't mean the difference between a manufacturer/player qualifying for a world tour event or not.

When I was doing my spreadsheet, I noticed that my totals aren't always matching up to the global standings despite inputting all the right point totals per region. Ties may be why but hopefully, it will be purely an academic point.

Yeah it was the missing piece of the puzzle to my spreadsheet too

Remind me never to join a Daily RAce before FIA.

Edit: That player that started 10th was wildin'
Anyway, got knocked around from T1. Outdragged on the straights, but moved up a spot

WOW! I'm qualifying and RMs are only lasting me 3 laps and more than half worn.👎

Edit: Nice. Real nice. Circuit breaker goes on lap 3. Gotta wait an hour and a half for the next race. Genius.

Edit2: Unexpected result. Tyres lasted longer than I thought. Only two stops on RM only. Passed the RCZ on the finally two corners as it struggled on a one stop.

The Aston was a nightmare, @Double H managed to keep the Audi ahead of me, non-minimum manufacturer points.

Nations was one to forget, I refused to use the GTR and experimented with 3 different cars with crappy results, oh well didn't really practice anyway.

6th, 595 pts from the Nations Cup at Monza. I'd be tempted to have another go if that hadn't gone so badly at Tokyo on Saturday, where a terrible race was followed by an even worse race.

Qualified 8th, and thought we were going to have a nice clean run through the 1st chicane until the 9th place driver rear ended me into a car in front, causing me to end up facing backwards on the gravel. Resumed in 17th place, with only the car that had hit me behind me. Gradually worked my way back up the field to finish 6th, and was 14.7 secs behind the leader, whereas I was 9.6 secs down when I got going again at the start in 17th place, so that didn't seem too bad, all things considered. I was driver number 18 in the room, so 6th has to be seen as a reasonable result.

I have to say, the effect of the impact at the first chicane seemed totally excessive relative to the speed differential. It looked like the sort of impact you'd expect might put a tiny little dent in the bumper, not send cars flying about all over the place. In FM7 they've put a "collision assist" feature in, which reduces the adverse effect on cars when they get hit. On the one hand, it makes people less averse to making contact. On the other, it means if someone hits you and it's not your fault, you don't get such a severely negative outcome. I haven't played it since that was added, but the impression I get from watching a few youtube videos when it was added is that people feel on balance it's an improvement. It sometimes feels like GTS has the opposite of collision assist, more like a collision multiplier feature, where the energy in a collision is multiplied by 20x or something.

Another day, another trip to the Monza casualty ward. Qualified 12th (just over eight-tenths off pole) after messing up my second lap and getting sucked into the gravel at the first chicane. Was punted off straight away by an orange Nissan while trying to keep a clear distance from the McLaren F1 up front, then spun round after a dive-bomber rammed another Nissan into my side. Dropped to the tail end of the pack, but somehow managed to climb back up to 13th by the finish, mostly as a result of others receiving penalties further up the road. Got a few good clean battles, however, along with 625 points.

While it could've been much worse, I'm currently thinking about attempting the Nations race again to improve my score... what do you think?

Looking at the rankings, 625 isn't enough for it to contribute to your total, so you might as well have another go? The only thing I'm not sure about is how the whole thing works - will it eventually be everyone's best 10 scores out of 40 that will count? If so, 625 is your 8th best score, so you have some risk of hurting your eventual total, but if the next 20 races all go so badly that it remains your 8th best score, you probably won't care that much anyway. I'd try again if I were in your position.

Thankfully, I've had plenty of decent points scores so far, so I'm not too concerned at the moment about how my most recent score will affect my overall total. That being said, the information on the Nations Cup leaderboards suggests that '[o]nly 1/4 of the total Rounds will be tallied', so I'd assume that, come season's end, only the 10 best results out of 40 will count. In the long-term, I feel like I've got enough chances to improve and eliminate my lowest scores by the very last race.

Still, it's worth another go, eh?

For the next race, N500 at Kyoto Yamagiwa, does that mean we can use any N500 car? Does it have to be native N500, or can you upgrade an N300 or N400 with mileage points? Does anyone know what the meta is likely to be? I'd like to practice it a bit tonight. I can't see any more details than the track and that it's N500 in the game or on the website at the moment.

According to the official website, we will be able to enter any N500 car that we own in our garages. Whether or not tuned N300/N400 vehicles will be allowed remains to be seen.

Qualified 6th at Monza. Got a penalty after the chicane when a guy who was sideways went off when I hit him. Can't say it got better after that. I look forward to 10PM's attempt.

I won Nations at Monza in the GTR. Pole, was not expecting that but a lot of people were not used to the lumpen handling while I also managed to escape the carnage that must have held at least one person up.

So I start the race in 1st and get out in front after the messy 1st chicane, was run off the inside but no penalty so very lucky. Left the pits starting Lap 6 in 3rd, was right behind 1st when they had to pit a lap later and retook the lead. I was lucky to escape the field who were scrapping a lot as someone smashed my fastest lap in the race by 2 seconds, though they had the benefit of the slipstream.

Went to a room for Manufacturers in my Citroën with way more competition, 11 branded on my car, qualified second from last, but worked my way up to 7th by the end pushing the mediums a long time and reckon that strategy was faster than pitting twice.

Tried the SLS in the Nations, but my qualifying time wasn't good enough (1:50.0), so I started in 19th. Decided to try a no-stop, and it kinda worked as I managed to get it up to 3rd before fading away to 8th. Was a pretty boring race, but I really had to fuel save like a maniac, and I still ran out just before the line. Not really a fun race, probably would have been better to pit, but it is just about viable. Might be worth a look for better drivers.

Manufacturers was more fun but I had 3 Alfa's and 4 Toyota's in my race so I knew it was going to be tough. Qualified in 6th with just under a 1:51 and then proceeded to have a race long battle with an Audi. I managed to get past him on the 4th lap after he touched the grass coming out of the hairpin, but then he sat behind me for the rest of the race testing out my defensive driving. We both had a few issues towards the end when a rather aggressive GT86 on much better tyres decided to push past, but it was a lot of fun and managed to get 5th (Behind 2 Alfa's and 2 Toyota's) :)
