You are required to use specifically named tyre compounds. Anything available but not specifically named as a tyre you are required to use is not required to use.it only states that the medium needs to be used.

Great minds think alike I guess haha. pretty much the same for me. For the most part I make my brand liveries around products I actually support and tbh I love most no name products(don't get me going on how much better Pizza Busters are than actual Pilsbury brand!). Even though advertising on a race car probably goes against everything the brand stands for with them being focused on no flashy packaging and no real marketing. But hey, why not!
And a very Canadian sorry as well lol. I was sarcastically joking about the "stealing", I was just curious if I maybe inspired it because that would be cool if I did. I steal livery ideas all the time if I find something I like that isn't on the right car.![]()
After some test with mustang , NSX and citroen, i think the best option for me is 1 stop with medium / medium for tyres.Did some laps in the Hyundai.
Mediums are good for 7~8 laps running consistent 42's. Softs good for 40's but the car feels a bit strange on them and not sure how long they will last, likely not as long. I could one stop and do full mediums for both stints but how much time do I lose running 42's and sitting on pit road taking fuel versus doing a 2-stop with RM, RS, RS stints? That is the question.
Is shortshiffting needed for nations?
I found the softs better than the mediums. They gradually fell off. The mediums went off a cliff and I was being gentle.Well that's it. I am just bad at Fuji haha.
I think i will try to do my best regardless and race to survive!
Will try one stop but the softs do die before lap 10 so i might stick with mediums
I've barely done any practice for tonight's manufacturers (literally one lobby race last night with @breeminator randomly) and I'm feeling lost with the various strategies in play.
In the practice lobby pretty much everyone did 2 stops (S-S-M) and I felt like the soft tyres held up well. Even though I was only on the medium tyre for a couple of laps at the end I did feel the grip fell off a cliff in the way @05XR8 mentioned. What was clear was that saving fuel so as to not need to refuel, or minimal refuelling, was the way to go.
Now I'm seeing people doing a 1 stop on all mediums, so I'm guessing pit at the end of lap 8. I'm guessing this is quickest but takes a fair degree of tyre management? I'm not going to have time to practice that strategy before racing though.
Still, Ferrari 458 here. At least I'm not in the FF camp......
The winner's pace there is totally out of keeping with their driver rating. I did a practice lobby last night where 4 of the top 5 had ratings in the 40-50k range, and that was won in 29:29. And you can see 05XR8's race above, looks like 35-40k sort of DR range, won in 29:36. The difference between 1 and 2 stops is quite small, at most a few seconds either way, depending on how good someone is at managing their tyres. Most of the time differences come down to the pace of the driver, e.g. I did one lobby where a top driver did 29:07 with 1 stop, and he let everyone past early on to give himself more of a challenge by having to work his way through the field.Meanwhile you have the guy in first doing a one-stopper with the Cayman...

Five laps at Fuji in the GT-R, just if anyone's wondering. It's going to be a disaster![]()

Mik_Makozi strategy was 8laps soft / 9 laps medium His lap time are the ssame with both tyres.

I think i will do medium / medium , the problem of soft tyres in my opinion and at my level is that if you do some mistakes or drive too agressively , they will not do the 8 laps at this pace.
Also in the GTR here.
I found 6 laps max for softs, but was basically going to run S-M-S or M-S-S with 5 laps each on the softs and 7 on the mediums before the performance starts dropping off badly. fuel seems to be alright with the GTR, one refill at the first stop then good to the end.
I'm a bit slower than normal currently since I'm still new to manual transmission, so I feel as if I'm better off running my own race. For the races so far I've used the harder compound to start then the softer (whether one or two stints) one, reasoning that I don't waste my good tyres fighting at the start when the field is close and I get to use them towards the end when I have less fuel and am faster.I got about 6 laps out of the soft tyres in practice with the Vantage on a DS4, so debating what strat to use either S-S-M, S-M-S, OR S-M?Any advice welcome from those of you that have do it for real.
Wait until you see how far the Toyota 86 Gr.4 can go on its tyres...Well, no matter how much I practice, I can't extend the tyre life. Mediums last about 6 laps and softs about 4 laps on my RCZ Gr.4, this is gonna be bad.
