It cannot be set fully to rear when You don't have 2/3 of the front tire and the rear is barley used.
Or You are going too fast into the corner causing understeer. Or both ;)

Managed a P5 after starting in P8 in manufacturer's on my main account. Had a chance at P3, but got to aggressive in the final section on lap 14. Ah well.

My alternative account...thank goodness I'd never done a sport mode race with it and was up against E and D rated drivers. The suspension on the Gr. 4 Mustang is a ridiculously loose. Felt like I was driving grandma's 20 yr old Toyota Camry. Managed P1 only pretty much by default, because it seemed no one else even knew the track.

After lots of messing around with various manufacturers, I decided to go back to Subaru, my favorite brand and the manufacturer I finished third with in the unified Americas 2018 series.

Went from eighth to third in a mid/low A/S lobby in CSA region. Unfortunately we all took a big hit on points when a whopping 25% of the lobby disconnected before warmup.

I had the pace for the win but the WRX tire wear forced me to two stops and I finished less than a pitstop's time behind the leaders who one-stopped. Kudos to them (Mustang and 458) who battled cleanly for the lead the entire race, the Ferrari finishing 0.1s behind the Ford.

I'm a bit disappointed not getting a couple hundred more points for the podium but, all-in-all, a good start to the season. It's good to be back home at Subaru.

Did two races in my Aston Martin at Fuji and the first one was not good. Lackluster quality and then with just few laps remained I went off track.
I regrouped for the 8pm race planning for the same Soft/Medium/Soft strategy.
It was abetter lobby so more points were at stake. I now had 15 on the door and targeted perhaps 10th as that would at least give me more points than what I got at the first race.
I however managed to qualify as 4th ! So this was bound to go better than the last race.
Strategy worked as it should and I ended up 4th when all was said and done. I have done a compilation of the race that proved to be quite a battle in places with a Ferrari with the Simpson's on :-)
I like the longer races. Its more like endurance as you need to stay focused for so long ... it was a good night...

The Alfa buff is needed to make the car somewhat decent to catch up against monster cars and came right before Nurb 24h so it helps a lot!

Also i'm 14th of Alfa Romeo EMEA and seeing Veloce_James going in (only raced 3rd round and got himself 2757)

Feeling a bit happier that we have an alien in my manu

Had my first taste of the new settings in one of the weirdest lobbies I've ever been in.

My SR was down to 80 because I was involved in and responsible for a massive crash at the final race of the official season in Catalunya. So this being my first crack at sport mode since, I was placed in one of those weird punishment lobbies filled with all the SR misfits. Top 10 were A-S rated DR and the bottom 10 were DR D with the exception of an E in his 5th ever race. I have never been so terrified going into to T1! Luckily I qualified 6th which put me far enough ahead of the bottom 10 and avoid the t1 carnage. With my goal being to just get my SR back to 99 I did my best to avoid any possible incidents. I succeeded in this regard, I only got punted once when one of the faster guys understeered like crazy during the last turn during one of the first few laps of the race. Luckily for me he punted me onto the tarmac runoff and it really didn't affect me at all. Unlucky for him he got a 4 sec penalty for it, yet still managed to beat me in the end :( I was as low as P8 and as high as P3 but in the end I finished P5. I had P4 until the aforementioned guy that punted me earlier overtook me on a awesome move on the very last turn of the race. I went ultra defensive and sacrificed my exit, where he went wide and got the great exit so his GT-R smoked my Scirocco on the straight.

Has anyone else noticed (or it might just be in AUS) that the aggression and dirty driving has ramped up? Last night was the worst driver behavior I’ve seen in an A/S room.
Drivers punting, pushing and in a few examples intentionally crashing cars off. If this keeps up I’ll be passing on it.
Secondly, the new times are terrible. Go back to on the hour and get rid of warmup.

I have a feeling these longer races make it soo much easier to get SR to 99, like I said I was down to 80 and got back to 99 in one race. basically anyone can get SR 99 now if they do FIA races somewhat regularly.

Love the change, but don’t like the new times since doing Manufacturers is a huge pain now

My first taste of the new settings as well and of course, I tried my 6:20PM slot and got disconnectorino'd. So I had to wait a full 3 hours before trying the 9pm and I doubt I'm ever doing the 11:40 slot, even on a Saturday.

I get why they have these slots though, so anyone can participate in every slot, nations or Manu. But the gap between races is to big. It would depend on the player numbers and such but I think they should try and go back to 5 time slots but overlap them so one could still only participate in 3 of one series in an evening. Or spread them out but have a limit of 3 entries. Now is the time to test this kind of stuff.

Wasn't expecting much for this round sinice "lol it's the GR4 lancer". But then I managed to get P2 in qualy in a 2k room. The Lancer being the Lancer and my terrible race pace combined resulted in me finishing 9th... Which I kinda expected, but getting such a good qualy left me with a sour taste. In the end, 1206 points. Again, expected, but disappointing considering the good qualy.

Nations was the same, qualy 4th just .080 behind Bernal in a 2.2k room, managed to stick to the group on the first half. By the second half the reality of me overdriving just to keep up with faster guys kicked in and my tires gave up and I wasn't able to adapt my driving. In the end I finished 8th. Again, expected but disappointing.
I'm running good qualy laps on fairly fast lobbys, but then the race starts and these guys have better race pace and I have to overdrive just to keep up and then I thrash my car and drop off. Need to work on it, the raw speed is there.

Also, LOL at the GR4 Mitsubishi.

Well, later today begins my FIA Practice. Nations is going to be an experience, Gr.1 cars at Dragon Trail - Seaside :(... I'm kind of scared but also kind of happy! I don't get to use my Gr.1 cars online very often and this is a perfect opportunity. I think I will go for the Peugeot 908 or the L750R.

Manufacturers is looking fun too, but it is going to be quite an experience for me. The RCZ Gr.3 is a jack of all trades with a slight edge in fuel economy but it has almost no top-end . I'm not going to practice qualifying at the Nurburgring but rather go straight to strategy practice in terms of fuel consumption and tyre wear. I think that's what will win the race because passing at the 'Ring is quite hard!

Thank god it's Gr.1 next, I only seem to do well in the faster Groups, like Gr.2/1

Also what cars were buffed with this update? I hope the GTR was...

Having finished my strategy simulations for the FIA races on Saturday, I have a conclusion; this weekend is going to be a very conservative one for me.

Leaderboards were filled with the R18 '16 so I decided to give it a whirl to get used to it. I was .6 seconds a lap quicker than with my 908!, and in terms of the economy, it can go the full race, full speed, without needing to refuel. Since Racing Mediums are probably going to be the "required compound" and I'm not too much faster on the softer tyres, I'll do a one-stop race, medium-medium, no refuel. Should be interesting! :D

Nurburgring was more or less the same. Peugeot's RCZ has almost no top end (6TH gear is basically an overdrive ), but I've found the RH tyres can go for 2 laps quite reliably and so can my car if I fuel save (don't know about others, you guys will have to do your own testing! :dopey:) and on the last lap, I'll pit, refuel, slap mediums on and just go at it.

So I see I'm basically gambling my life with these strategies, but hey! No one ever got ahead without a risk or two.

*edit: again posting at 2 a.m., forgot to merge with my last message. Woops.

As a Manufacturer-only racer, I have also come to a conclusion: I'm too old for the Green Hell .

If it was in the 1966 Beetle, well, maybe I would consider it. But after 25 years of sim racing I am STILL not comfortable with that track. Especially in GT3 machinery. So I will sit out yet another Green Hell event because, you know, I'm totally chickening out :nervous:.

I was also considering on not doing the event, but for another reason; racing at Nurburgring sucks. The GP layout is fine for racing, but the Nordschleife isn't. It's so narrow and difficult and bumpy, going side by side with another driver or simply trying to pass anywhere that isn't a straight is borderline suicide (both for your races and your SR ratings), and the only reliable way to pass is to just slipstream the other driver at the back straight (and my RCZ Gr.3 has no top end...).

But considering Gr.3 races are my only reliable way of getting points, I'll run this anyway. :boggled:

Looking at your stats on K', I'd expect you to mostly win easily all the way to A rating. You get some other drivers on the way up there who are also not at their true rating, e.g. if they've had a DR reset, but your 1:53.3 Autopolis daily race QT is an A standard performance IMO, and you're not far behind me for the current daily race C qualifying, again I'd say that's an A standard performance. The best thing you could do for your FIA points would be to do daily races first to get your DR up to at least 25k.

Thanks man! As I said some messages before in the daily races topic, I do some lobby racing on the side and I can hold my own against A-class drivers. Often my pace in the race doesn't match my pace in qualifying simply because I focus on minimizing mistakes rather than going flat out everywhere (something I could work on) but I know I can go quicker in qualifying in these daily races too.

For instance, I did a race B the other day where my qualifying time was a 1:31.5 in the RCZ Gr.4 and I just thought that was good enough. Go to the race, and I'm sitting at the lead comfortably due to what I can only assume was turn-1 carnage , and I decided to push it further. I got a best lap of 1:30.252!

I guess that's my trade, I'm really consistent. :dopey: and when someone really quick rolls up in my rear view mirror, I have fighting spirit (clean, obviously. Lol) Do you race in the european region? Maybe we'll come across each other some day! What's your PSN? :D

This is last wednesday's Nations Cup race.

After starting first I commited some mistakes, throwing away the opportunity I had of having a breath of air and had to battle for it again.

I used too much my tires and struggled to keep the position against the tire saver KTM in the last three laps.

So the Audi R18 is dominating the leaderboards for the qually time but whats the reckoning for the race?

I was practising earlier to see how close I could get to the top 10 guys (because I know I'll end up in a lobby with a couple of them as I see them often) but with the Toyota TS050 I could only get a 1:21.4 with an optimum of a 1:21.1.

I chose the Toyota because I know its usually monstrous in a race scenario especially on fuel, but it almost feels like the Audi will be the go to choice for everyone, which i hope isn'tthe case. I might still choose the Toyota, depends how the actual race pace practice goes later tonight in non-sport mode lobbies.

As for Manufacturers, with the GTR... God knows what will happen, but I dont expect much.

How many accounts do you have for this game exactly
Three. I started off with one account. I then realised the benefits of a 2nd account, but made the huge error of doing my first FIA race on my 2nd account, because it felt like a bit of a risky step into the unknown compared to daily races. It was only afterwards that I realised I had to carry on doing FIA races on the same account, because that's the rule, one account only for FIA races. So I then needed a 3rd account to do what the 2nd account was originally for. Now that it's a new season, I've switched to doing FIA races on my original 1st account, the 2nd account is perhaps now a bit redundant, and the 3rd account is like my 2nd account should always have been, for trying out qualifying performances and daily races before doing them on the 1st account. The 3 accounts are now at 34k, 37k, and 27k, and the K' speed scores are at 82, 86 and 83, so my now redundant 2nd account has the best stats of the three. It will take a LONG time to get the 1st account K' speed score up, because I did quite a lot of times on that account when I was a fair bit slower and <3% seemed decent to me, whereas I'm now mainly looking for <1.5%, so it will take a lot of additional times to make those slower performances drop off.

Are you really locked to 1 account for FIA races? Cheech. I was planning on making a 2nd and 3rd accounts, for America and Asia but I guess not...

"Multiple Accounts
If it is found that a competitor is participating through multiple PSN accounts, and/or is partaking in any activity that interferes with other competitors' races, said competitor may be disqualified from the Championships."

I will go next nation with the dodge GR1. No need to refuel and with the brake balance setted at 4 or 5 , only 1 pit stop possible with 9 to 10 laps racing soft tyres at good pace.
Also i think this is a very soft car for kerbs and great precision in the direction , almost impossible to fail the bus stop chicane.

It should be fun attempting that, the SRT Gr.1 is an underrated car. I'll personally be using the R18 '16 simply because after buying it, I genuinely like how it drives. :D

I've tested it alone in a room , i'n going to drive it again tonight to check in real racing situation .
