Thanks a lot for your answer. So basically Hyundai is not the kind of car you can go for wins among the best players(which doesn't matter so much in manu cup) but reliable and easy to drive for noobs like me. I will try to understand these tyre degs and everything race by race. Because my dr is B, I haven't been challenged yet. And next race is an f1 track(brazil) so again I belive I will be alone in the front against b drivers. But may I ask another question? I have been doing some practice for that race and I managed to do 1.30.0s and probably could go a few tenths faster. But in the leaderboards I see 1.28.5s. Is it possible that there is a difference in car performance around 1 second or am I too slow? If its me, I should change my approach clearly to close that kind of difference. Again thanks for your time and answer.
What is your strategy? I know that all compounds must be used. Start on med, then soft and hards on the end? And what about fuel, is saving needed?Faster room this time. Starting 6th. Will do the same strategy from my first race.

Ok, sorry I missed your previous post![]()
Please tell me you saved the replay. I also want the audio commentary from the other drivers.
Yes, it also depends on drivers. Noone pushed me off. One car, a Jag or Aston, rubbed me on the final turn. I had given it plenty of room to not touch each other and it still found a way to make contact. Thanks! Maybe Im wrong but starting on hards with heavy car isnt killing speed? On tve other hand starting on softs will kill tyresI will try start on meds, then fuel up to max take softs, and hards with no fuel. Do you think it will be faster strategy? Of course everything depends on traffic and starting position.

It worked again( I rose to 3rd in the middle of the race.. In the final stint, a C7 and Genesis were so slow and blocking just a bit. I wasn't going to punt them, but I gave them courtesy at the start of the race. I was on RH and let cars pass.
The group that was ahead, I was catching by a couple seconds each corner. I could have passed them if the C7 and Genesis gave way.

It's the same tactic I usually use: first half on hards, just over a quarter on mediums, then the last stint on softs. Thanks! Maybe Im wrong but starting on hards with heavy car isnt killing speed? I hope that everybody choose softs on my raceI knew cars would stop earlier than me. This allowed me to run in clean air for some time and not be held up by traffic.
Thats logical, but I see one big minus of this tactic, risk of beign blocked or stucked behind slow cars at the end of the race. And whole advantage of fastest possible configuration dissappears. But I will try it today, and post results, only 5 more hoursIt's the same tactic I usually use: first half on hards, just over a quarter on mediums, then the last stint on softs.
The hard tyres will last the longest on a heavy car, so you can get them out of the way in the early stages when cars are jockeying for position - you don't lose so much time and can hook onto anyone's slipstream. Then with the lighter car you can take softer tyres and get more laps out of them, making up time in clear air when everyone else pits for harder tyres, and finish with as light a car as possible on as soft tyres as possible - the fastest configuration - while people in front tiptoe around on tyres made of plastic.
Go in slow, come out fast, but applied to a whole race![]()
Did first slot of Nations yesterday. Went with the NSX as it's the car I know best. Managed a clean run in quali and that put me near the front. Went 7S/7M/2H, first stint I was behind someone on mediums but didn't really go for anything as I was saving fuel, had a clean run in my 2nd stint other than my outlap where I came out behind someone and after my last stop I ended up in the lead battle, was a close run race in the end with the top 3 all within 1s. A very good haul of points for me, much better than I was expecting, helped a lot by quali and the NSX being very good on fuel.
Shout-out to @T_revisio and @VulcanSpirit on very good drives from the both of them in that one
Thank you. Great drives from you and @T_revisio, too - the last lap was just as close from my end!
That applies at any point of the race, probably more so at the start of the race because you're in a squabbling pack of different people on different strategies, and people are knobs. It just takes one idiot, or one idiot revenge punting the first idiot and getting you tangled up in it, in the opening lap or two to stuff your soft tyres.Thats logical, but I see one big minus of this tactic, risk of beign blocked or stucked behind slow cars at the end of the race. And whole advantage of fastest possible configuration dissappears.
My races were horrible in yesterday's nations.
First race was in the back of the pack most of the race and finished P14 or something for 148 points.
Seconds attempt had a disconnect before matchmaking, so at least no DR problems.
Third attempt was the last slot. Started P15, only 7 tenths or so behind pole. Got very close due to slipstream. As I went ahead of everyone to get 3 timed laps I had no slipstream at all :/
Race start was unspectacular.
Towards the last turn in lap 3 and 4 I braked a bit later as the Spaniard in front who went wide, but no more. My fault. Could've passed him but didn't.
But he went nuts. He tried at least 3 times to ram me off the track and was a pain in the arse for me. He ruined both of our races. So in the end only P14 and 128 points. Not what I wanted.
Here is the video :
It's an annoying problem in GTSport for quite a large number of players. The moment there's contact they just become entirely focused on revenge and forget about the race. I had a similar incident when I nudged someone at turn 1 at Tokyo East Outer Loop. They went off line, I backed off so they kept the position. They spent the rest of the race ramming me into the wall so we finished 19th & 20th.
Accidents happen and as long as the person that nudged you doesn't take advantage of it then people need to forget it and move on. Sadly that's the exception to the rule.
Which car are you driving? It's very different, the Porsche for example is very kind to them and they'll last for several laps on itThe S-FR was fun and I was hanging with some very fast ferraris last night but my god. I couldn't pass a granny in a minivan with this thing. I had a great run out of the corners but the Fezzas would just pull away on the straight. Felt like I was in a mini vs V8 type of deal. Finished 3rd with the fastest lap (on lap 10)
How long is the soft tire expected to last for the Manu Cup at Brazil today at a fairly fast pace? I see anywhere from 3-7laps reading the above.
I would have taken him out long before that if I were you.At least he got what he deserved, someone else was fed up with him as well so he got punted out (21:41 and look in the mirror)
In an FIA race you’ll have a minute in between qualifying and the race to choose your tires, you just need to remember to do it. I’ve forgotten once or twice.Confirming this first before I make an ass of myself:
If I manage to set a lap on softs and make it back to the pits to change tires, no matter what compound I switch to I'm going to start the race on softs right?
