First time cracking into the top 10. I know it wont last but it's nice to see my name up there.

From 9th to 4th in the GT-R, running 6/7/5 H/M/S and overfuelling by 1 lap (whoops). Famine's earlier reason for that tyre order proved accurate, as the squabbling in the mid-pack in the opening stint was horrendous. I also take great delight in seeing the AMG who started 2nd didn't finish the race. He went wide coming out of turn 4 in qualifying and got a penalty. When I went to go past him he barged me off the track. His DR seems to have dropped to 68, which is quite fair.

I'm going to watch the replay and see what carnage unfolded elsewhere, because it seemed to be quite widespread. Very happy with the result, although a bit more composure from me at the end might have seen 3rd.

Really enjoyed that race :)

Qualified 12th and thought that I was going to struggle, especially as the only other Jag in the race was on pole going nearly 2 seconds faster than my time. Decided to start on Mediums and done a good job of working my way up through the field. Pitted lap 7 and put went for Softs as there was a gap in the field and thought I’d take advantage of a clear track. Came in for Hards while in 2nd place on lap 13 and rejoined in 3rd. Had a gap of 3 seconds which was just not quite enough as I got caught on the final corner to finish 4th! Highest points total to date! :)

So, I qualified 5th in Lex. Started on mediums for 5 laps, than full fuel take softs for 6 laps and then hards eith no fuel to the end. Ended 5th with 6s gap to 6th. Got 78 points, and now I dont wanna risk and check the H/M/S strategy. But probably its faster as @Famine says.

Despite my best intentions, WiFi refuses to allow me to race in FIA.

I network tested before the race, had five green bars...

Should have known something was up when the game wouldn't let me switch tyres in FP or the warmup. Started quali on the hards, got halfway through the outlap before cars started bouncing and wiggling all over the place and yep, disconnected.

Frustrating frustrating frustrating. Really need to stop getting my hopes up just because the internet seems well behaved on FIA day. The servers want nothing to do with me.

Six months we've had this 🤬 and I'm really considering just not paying my bloody rent.

Well there is such a thing as adapting to a situation.

So I did a test run, it's not my best track so I wasn't expecting much. Thought let's try starting out on the hard tyre so I pre-selected that. Well to my surprise I qualified third. But instead of adapting and changing strategies I was of course the stubborn idiot that I am and started on the hard tyres. Needless to say after that first few laps I was P15. Ended P11.

Just adapt to the situation. Just adapt.

Manufacturers 1st slot.

I'd done a bit of free lapping and two practice races (which were both shocking!) to work out what could or couldn't be done with strategy but this was my first ever competitive race in the GR3 Jag.

I spent 20 minutes before the race just simulating qualifying runs, and I'll say it paid off. Qualified 7th with a 1:30.6, exactly the same time as an Alfa in 6th, just two tenths off pole and on a grid where the top 16 were covered by a second. So starting towards the front of the middle, or back of the front, chose my favoured strategy and started on the mediums - or as I'll refer to them from now on - Black Ice!

Went down into T1 off the start, everyone very well behaved then tried to get a run out of T3 but just had no grip and despite coming off the throttle got myself a 1s penalty for running wide. Still on ice into T4 and got passed by an Aston out of it, just struggling everywhere. Luckily for me the car behind was also a Jag that had started on ice instead of rubber and he wasn't able to make any inroads. Tyres gradually warmed up, I hung on to the Aston's slipstream, got a small gap to the Jag behind and was able to serve the penalty without losing a place. Right, settled in now, head down and off we go. Closed in on the Aston who pitted at the end of L5 for softs, putting him on a completely different strategy to me as I was going to run hards in the middle so I didn't expect to see him again unless it transpired we were close at the end.

Then...not much happened to be fair, people pitting at different times meant it would all shake down late in the race. I closed in on a Corvette while on hards, he pitted before me and put fresh hards on but my tactic was always to do a seven lap stint on softs at the end so when I emerged slightly further behind him at the start of L12 it didn't take long to catch and get past. Then the rest of the passes were people who were pitting to be fair - but - there was an Alfa, the car that had qualified ahead of me on alphabetical order (or should that be Alfabetical?), and he had fitted hard tyres for the final few laps. I gradually closed the gap and on the last lap - I'm adamant I should have had him! Maybe I could've braked later for T1 but I set up to get him into T4 anyway... then the Aston from the first stint emerged from the pits and chaos ensued for a few corners!

Fair play to the Aston for saving it then pulling over! He apologised after the race but it wasn't anything dirty in my opinion, didn't ultimately cost anyone anything and it was definitely surreal watching him spear across the track! (I was relieved not to get a penalty though seeing him go off in my mirror!). But the status quo remained, I got a 6th place finish, top Jag and 216 points

734 for the season after three races (all one and done) is something I'm really, really pleased with. Not sure if 800 is possible for me so maybe I'll focus on Nations now. I like GR1 and it seems a good place to start on Saturday!

Qualifying went ok apart from me out-braking myself into the first corner and losing a few tenths, so ended up 4th with a 1:30.2

Chose mediums to start, and quickly got passed by an Aston who was on softs. He managed to get past the Jag in front of me, which meant that there was a little break to the guys in 1st and 2nd. Luckily for me the guy behind missed his braking point going into the 1st corner of lap 2 but I managed to ole him and get back past him and the guy ahead, getting me into 4th so I set off after the guys ahead. Managed to catch them by lap 6 when the leader was starting to struggle with his tyres. Pitted on lap 8 for hards and took no fuel.

Did 3 laps on the hards and then stopped again for softs and to top up the tank.

I was lucky enough to get some relatively clean air, so I managed to jump a couple of people and ended up in 3rd trying to chase down the Supra in 1st, and Jag in 2nd. Was quickly apparent that I wasn't going to catch the Supra, but the Jag was in play and I caught him going into the last lap. Trying to overtake a Jag can be problematic due to its straight line speed, but I threw a couple of dummies at him and he ended up going too deep into the double right hander before the twisty bit of the track. I managed to nip up the inside and then drive off to celebrate a decent 2nd place and 274 points.

It makes me wonder about the benefits/drawbacks of the current format Vs having regional heats with the top 24 or 36 from each region competing and then the EMEA winners would go and meet the Asia-Oceanic and Americas winners etc in a big final.

Started and finished 9th. Seeing how as I'm pretty terrible at Interlagos I'll credit that to the @Famine strategy. 4H/8M/6S refueling for the last stint.

It felt like the mixed strategies brought out the best in everyone. People on slower tyres letting others through and I had a really patient Supra sit behind me for 3 laps when I'm sure they were faster than me, but just held their position without sticking their nose in at every corner.

Quite an enjoyable race in the end.

There may have been shenanigans going on elswhere on the track as penalties were being served. Could have been for track limits though.

Well this is frustrating.

I can't make the first slot on weekdays and missed the second due to some stuff at work that forced me to stay late.

Now an instant disconnect as the third one was going to match... :banghead:

Could be worse - 1st slot I finished last, 26s behind. 33 points.

2nd slot - I found myself alone in the lobby, drove till the end - but the points and DR were not registered.

3rd slot - massive disconnection in EU. From what I see on Kid's stream everyone was kicked out...

Same, by the time I got home it was too much of a rush to make the 2nd slot, and just been disconnected from the 3rd. Was ready to race.

Does anyone know if GTS takes into account changes in track temperature as a race progresses?

For instance, tire degradation will be higher at the end of the race vs at the beginning. But it's unclear to me if this is incorporated into GTS sport mode. Also, would RH tires function better on a warmer track at the end of the race than on a cooler one at the beginning?

What a complete joke today, after first three slots were P18, disconnect, disconnect - I had the brilliant idea to try again in slot 4.

Started P17(on Hards) and got to P14 after some drama in front of me. Then the sexy ass of the 458 starting messing with me throught the twisty sector in the 1st lap. Headed to the wall, lost 2 positions and next corner spin again due to dirty tires.

Then I managed to keep it till the end of the Hards stints - lap 4. Got mediums managed to get to P16, 5s behind. Then in lap 6 I got completely rammed in T1 and obliterated.
Won't waste any more time today. I managed to lose around 3000 DR and I am 99% sure I won't race Gr3 races this season again. Definitely will change the manufacturer in the official season...

Well did not have the time to prepare, so decided to have minimum warmup and start with tc1 to avoid hitting anyone on accident since I was rusty.
Car was undrivable, any minimal loss of grip or remotely touching a curb would send it strangely sideways. Got multiple blue flags, that is how slow I was, yet it was even hard for me to let them pass me safely.
15th lap and 16th I decided to see how it is without TC, bang - 4 seconds off with relatively old tires, the Ferrari is suddenly a pleasure to drive. Race finishes, half the grid gets 20s penalties. I start a practice, the car handles fine with or without TC.
Then next attempt - full disconnect.
What is going on here, this seems worse from what it was one year ago?
