It is very difficult to drive the Ferrari like any other car. You cannot hit curbs like other cars, you cannot push the limits into corners as the rear likes to step out on sharp brake application. I have found that I need a bit of practice on tricky tracks with chicanes of death to figure out a stable line for the Ferrari to keep both it's rear in check and the tire wear in check. Often it can be using trail braking ever so slightly until the last moment, or braking earlier and then using the throttle only a little to keep the rear balanced.
Those techniques combined with being gentle on the brakes into the big braking zones meant I was able to keep my soft tires alive for 9 laps and mediums would have been able to be pushed out to 14 or so, yet the strategy encouraged me to pit at lap 9 so I never got to push them as far as I could. Had my first race gone my way, I would have been on pace for a win, as it was I was in a battle for 2nd with a GTR. My second race I was also pushing for a win but messed up the chicane twice then ran out of fuel....ended 5th. The car is capable, it is just very tricky to get the maximum out of it, but so satisfying when you do.
